G'Day Viewers! This week I restore a well loved but complete early Corgi 406 Land Rover, complete with self designed carton and brief history of the casting, I hope you like it!
Thanks for dropping by! I try to have a new video every second Friday at 9:15am ESPBT and I’d love to see you back again! I can’t always promise gold standard restorations, but I’ll always promise to try and make it interesting!
You can email me at pbsretrorestorations@gmail.com
If you do Facebook I’m @pbsretrorestorations
I’m on Instagram too @pbsretrorestorations
If you enjoyed this video, I’d love for you to consider sharing it with friends, maybe even subscribe and I always like getting your comments, feedback and tips.

Another well presented video PB, no annoying background music and plenty of hands on action, proper job.

Thank you BK. This one came as an extra in a box of cars I bought years ago, I didn't realise just how early a version it was until I was doing the history stuff on them.

Thank You Dave! You see, it's tips like this I need because I'm too simple to think of them myself, to make things worse I've actually GOT a rubber mallet and didn't think to use it 😔You must have cringed seeing me use the hammer 😂 That tip has come too late for the Renault Floride I'm working on, wait till you see what I resorted to to get those wheels back on 😳

@PBsRetroRestorations
@PBsRetroRestorations 10 месяцев назад
Thank you Peter! The stream of consciousness style dribble / waffle will return, I wasn't sure if my talking put people off but it seems I was wrong. Except for the Tarzan screaming, that wasn't real popular 🤣 The shine on the paint really was better than usual, I wish I could nail down what causes the difference, sometimes it seems to be the colour, the humidity and sometimes nothing at all 🤷‍♂️ A Merry Christmas to you and yours also, hope you get some time for yourself and family.

I don't know about you, but when you were straightening that front bumper, my buttocks were clenched! Great result and the captions on action and materials are really handy: nice one! Interestingly, the original Land Rover on which the 406 was based, was probably a 107", as seen on the doors and doortops, from the Series1: it morphed into a Series 2 later with a smoothing out of the door detail, but never got the original 5" sills, instead going straight to 2a sills, at 3". I'll just get my anorak...
@PBsRetroRestorations
@PBsRetroRestorations 9 месяцев назад
Man, it was like I know this is going to break, I know what I should be doing, and yet I still keep going and break it anyway >sigh< And thanks for the Landy info, that really is some hardcore detail noticing 🤣 But you know what? accuracy is accuracy and if you're going to bother at all, bother to get it right. Of course I don't follow this advice myself, but am happy to dispense it to others.

amazing vid this version was 1 of the 3 I liked the most of what you showed. the dark gray or black and the rcmp versions. not sure if these made it canada being a 77 baby but I'd they did they were unfortunately before my time. very cool casting. hope all is well

Thank you very much Mark. Man, I really did question if the Tarzan bit was a good idea. I did it a couple of times, and it sounded stupid on both occasions, which seemed to fit so I left it in 🤣 BONUS TRIVIA: I had to reduce the volume mix on the scream or you would've REALLY hated it. No more screams, I promise 😊
