yeah especially when you're in college, after school days, when weekend/vacation comes you'll get to chit chat and do fun activities you've been longing to do with them again, laugh with them. memories you want to experience again and again and again. Activities that don't require modern technology, only with nature.Things that most kids nowadays don't appreciate or don't have. Lucky with these two kids for having a sister/aunt like Dianxi and a supportive community they have, they got to experience the province life on the highest level 😊
This video is specially touching to me, when I see how you and your sister and the little boy (your nephew) interacted so well together. He is such a cute boy, he helped you with cooking everything, not afraid of dirt, not afraid of heat. Your family raised great kids, you, Axia, Zhang Jun and Ahao. Your grandparents, parents, uncles and aunts must be so proud. Also the bonus of the video is the conversations amongst three of you, the boy asked such cute questions like ‘what will my great grandchildren call you?’ 🤣 Or ‘I saw people made chicken in martial art movies, I wonder if it tastes good’. When we (my family) started watching you, we vividly remember ahao being so young and zhang jun basically a toddler. Now, when we watch your videos we always ask "How did Ahao grew up so fast?". And then I started to realize, im not just watching you cook and eat, you are giving us a glimpse of your life, raw and beautiful, true and honest and I thank you for that.

I need to admit that watching them going to collect the corn and all made go back again to some childhood moments, as I, a mexican girl did when I was younger, it even suprised me seeing that they eat pumpkin flowers too! In China,the kids will be arranged to join the military style training camping by school for a week to a month when they are in primary school, first term in junior high school , senior high school ,even collage. But different from the situation about enlist the army.☺️

You know when Zhang jun mentioned about his kids, grand kids and so forth, I realized that they have a video library of a lot of family and happy moments together thanks to these videos, so the generations following them can learn about and know more about their family.
Seeing the beans grown with the corn and mashed corn (aka masa) cooked in the leaves reminds of how the indigenous Americans grow and cooked their food. It's cool to see and I love seeing the family involved.

I've been watching your videos since I was in high school. And now I'm finishing my last year of university. Time goes by so fast, I haven't missed any of your videos. It's fun to see Jun and Ahao grow up. They remind me of my younger sister, they're all grown up and we're lucky to be with them, seeing them since they were little kids. We are all one people, one race. I think the stories of your family could apply to many families around the world from so many different cultures if not all. The love for the grandparents, the uncles and aunties, food from childhood, memories and summer time holidays in the country.
Loved the corn baba, its similar to what we call Tamales in the Latino/Mexican communities. We make a masa/dough that in many cases is not sweetened from ground up corn, we add spices, spread the masa on moistened corn husk, then we add fillings of either pork,beef,refried beans,fruits, chicken, basically any combination, then the masa and meat filled husk is folded onto itself and steamed for 30 minutes to an hour. In the past when my grandmothers from both sides were alive, we would have what we called TAMALADAS which was a weekend dedicated to family coming together to make tamales. It was almost like a production line, everyone had different task, when your a kid its making sure the dried corn leaves are put in the buckets of water and they are made supple, as you get older you get to spread the masa in the husk, then when older you add the filling cause by then you know the right filling to masa ratio. The men were usually the ones who cooked and prepped the meat that was the filler. One year my Abuela Tanguma wanted BRISKET, so my dad and two of his four brothers ended up on a saturday staying overnight at my grandparents to slow cook three FIFTEEN LBS briskets low and slow in the smoker in my grandparents backyard where we held family get togethers (Dad was oldest of seven before he passed).
@@welcome2stp just some fyi, in northern mexico and the southwest united states its made with corn husk and usually beef pork. But if its from the more tropical areas of Mexico like the yucatan, they will use fish and its wrapped in banana leaves and taste different

Corn paste steamed and fried Yummy. Chicken roasted with lotus leaves and mud wrapped around. That must tastes awesome. I can almost smell the fragrances. I'm so glad you remade this corn baba video. My mum and I both enjoyed it and wanted to try the simple recipe ourselves here in London.
