Sandvik's CoroMill® Dura exceeded the expectations in this test. It's pushed far over the recommendation's to see its limits, but the performance was there.
Cool. One question for you. Why do you rough the taper stepping down and taking smaller cuts. Can’t you just rough it out with the same tool at and angle using more flute length to rough and reduce cycle time? Thanks!
I suspect the mill head can't move as fast articulating to get a very efficient roughing tool path .But it probably can go up and down much faster and why he opted for the step down method.
