This is an awful story line and so cringe worthy on a number of levels. Given the grief that Jim and Liz went through all those years ago, it seems so out of character for him to deceive her like this. It's also a sad indictment on how far Jim has fallen as person. He was a respectable husband and father who served his country and became a decent upstanding businessman who was loyal to his family, friends and neighbours. But over the years, the writers of "Corrie" have ruined his character. He's become a lying, deceitful, vindictive and vengeful man who has spent time behind bars and isn't above using violence to get his way.
I think this is a sick storyline to be honest and I hope the character of Liz uses her sense and gets herself DNA tested against the liar . What his aim is God alone knows .
It is a con because he's faking his leg injury thing... whatever it is. When he got in the car with her the other day he walked normally just before he entered and put his walking stick in the car, then she asked him something and he said "things take time". It is all for show
Not only is this spot on, while they did ruin his character, when you look at it, he’s spent 14 years in prison being treated like shit for most of it by his family, even when he wasn’t in prison. That, as well as prison makes you bitter, angry, messes your head up, so it’s understandable. To a degree.
Corrie occasionally becomes very silly, like here. Do this kind of nonsense again, producers, and viewers may not bother to return as you try to redeem yourselves, e.g. killing off a fave. character.
A very poor substitute for Phelan.Liz,get to the point straight away.Insist on another independent DNA test.It will save us from all the nonsense which is sure to follow.Jim locking people up in cellars,etc and Liz playing the part of a moronic Eileen.
h Hello again Mycroft.Well, I was making a parallel, between the actions of Phelan,and those of Jim,and the stupidity of Liz,compared with the of Eileen.However, just imagine my, anxiety,and suspense brought on by current episodes.Jim, demanding £50,000 to hold his silence.I cannot wait to view subsequent episodes.But I always have a good laugh when I see Mary dancing,and Kirk dressed up as a camel etc.
I,thankfully know nothing of Maguire,but regarding Jim,he does remind me of Rasputin without the beard.However we may disregard Jim.(the storyline was too weak from the start)but now, we have a notorious gangster on the scene.herein lies the chance to outphelan,Phelan.
