CORRECTING Fantano's Elliott Smith Album Tier List 

In all fairness to Mr Fantano, his list is meant to be a comparison between the albums, because he says that otherwise they'd all be S tier. However it's great to see them all placed where they belong, and to hear why they are each uniquely brilliant

That's funny I've never agreed with a tier list completely but with this one I do. Especially about Basement. It took me a few years of listening to him to get to that album and then another year or two for how great it is to actually sink in. I think it's just such a tough listen and pill to swallow and it's so dark that it puts people off, but if you give it the same listening treatment and attention as the others it shows itself to be the realest of all of his records, and smartest and most self aware, and beautiful. Amazing record.

You should be acknowledged for the effort in the songbook you made. I’d have paid 3x’s the price you’re charging. I know it’s not about money but you should be fairly compensated for your efforts. It’s professional. People should want to give 15$ maybe add a tip option. Idk if that even exists but if it doesn’t it should. Well done.

Elliott is the only artist I'm aware of that doesn't have a letdown I'm his catalogue. And his growth from one record to the next is impressive. Thanks for the well researched vids

I don't think I could ever rank his albums like this because I love every one of his albums so much! Like even if my life depended on it I would have a really hard time saying any one album is better than another. You should make a video ranking every song tho, It'd be a long video. *Update: Guess I should've watched the whole video before commenting, good to know you couldn't do it either.

All S tier lol it’s no surprise I agree. It’s like a timeless classical composer…he’s so much more than a pop artist, Rock artist, or folk/singer songwriter…I don’t think he gets enough credit for possibly being the greatest songwriter ever..if not one of them. I love The Beatles and think they revolutionized songwriting to the point that they’re appropriately labeled the greatest band but if anyone took it further from there or is comparative I think it’s Elliott

Lost me with overrating “Roman Candle.”

Nah. I love Elliott and he my favorite songwriter of all time but this is ridiculous. Not every album is perfect. In my view S tier is reserved for 10/10's and he probably has between 2-4 10/10 depending on personal taste. To me it is inconceivable to hear Roman Candle or From a Basement (which are both still great albums but have some flaws) and think they are of the same quality as Either/Or, XO or Elliott Smith. There are no artists who only had perfect albums without some extenuating circumstance like an artists death or the band breaking up.

I love Elliott, but all his albums aren’t S tier. But I understand if you feel that way if he’s one of your fav artists of all time
