*CORRUPTION OR LGBTPHOBIA?* REACTION TO JANN - GLADIATOR. POLAND NATIONAL FINAL EUROVISION 2023

I am a straight woman, the same age with Jann and I find him very attractive to the female gaze, even if he's gay or not. I don't know why it's hard for people to just accept a different style, even if he's not gay, he's extremely cool and angelic at the same time, you should not feel threatened by that.

Guys please note that: there are communities in Poland which support LGBT rights. Sure, some of Poles are still homophobic and transphobic as shit, but we are not going to quit fighting for basic human rights. Take care and I love ya from Katowice!!!

This was Jann's first television performance. He wrote and composed the song himself. The song "Gladiator" talks about the toxicity of showbussines and condemns corruption. The irony is that something like this happened during the selection of the Polish representative for Eurovision. People in Poland think that the sound of the TV performance is worse than recordings from the phone in the studio. This is reason to think that TVP manipulated the sound to make the performances worse or the sound man accidentally broke it. Jann sings really great when you can hear him in the concert hall. And Yes, you are right, our public television is associated with homophobic and conservative politics in Poland. The president of the jury, Edyta Górniak, said that Jann and his song are too dark. That's why they chose the happy and sunny song "Solo". Agustin Egurrola, who is a dancer, was also a member of the jury. The problem is that his dancers performed together with Blanka and Egurrola choreographed her performance. Egurrola and Blanka have worked together before, for example at music events organized by TVP. One of the Polish famous people Michał Piróg wrote on his instagram: I just wanted to see the performance and expect what would surprise me. But there were also those who asked "who is supposed to be the best?" In the comment, he explained that he meant Agustin (They have worked together many times). The jury deliberately placed Jann low in the score because they didn't want him to win the competition. They noticed that he has a lot of support. But the truth is that people chose him. Poland chose Jann as our representative. Blanka won unfairly. She was favored and had deals with the members of the jury and the TVP TV station. The jury was not objective. The public in Poland loved Jann and he received three times more votes than Blanka. Reportedly it was 50% of the vote to 17% . TVP is hiding the detailed voting results from us, the voting rules have been changed 4 days before the competition. They didn't show us the jury scorecards. They didn't show us the exact number of people's votes. In the article at 15 :33 it said that Blanka won and Jann was in second place, the competition started at 17 :30. The rules for selecting a candidate for Eurovision have been broken in several points. This competition was a rigged! The Eurovision media announced an official appeal to TVP. The media in Poland and famous people talk about this scandal and comment on the situation . Over 80,000 signatures have been submitted to a petition to change our representation to Jann. The TV station spit in our face. They are still silent! They don't want to explain it to us! We are fighting for them to speak out on this matter. The song "Solo" is a plagiarism of INNA - Up. We don't want to be represented by a scam! The jury and television do not listen to people. We are still trying to fight this case because Blanka is not our true representative. Poland chose Jann! They block our comments and want to silence us. There are many more reasons to think that the competition was a rigged, what I wrote is not all. Blanka liked some comments on her instagram. Unfortunately, this comment said that Jann is on the margins of society and people like him should not be in this competition, also it was written in the comment that we can't compare Blanka to a guy with an exposed belly. This comment also offended Krystian Ochman. She also liked the comment that Jann moves like a prostitute. These comments supported her, but at the end it was written these terrible things. After that, it became even more of a mess on her social media. Many times in interviews she said that she and Jan are friends and they support each other. Then in an interview she lied that she didn't like those comments. But people have recordings and evidence of it. We don't want to hate Blanka, we write her constructive criticism. According to people, she is not a worthy representative. We prefer Poland to be disqualified than Blanka to perform. Polish people actually voted for Jann so I think the jury or TVP (Polish Public Television) didn't want him to represent Poland. The head of the jury (Edyta Górniak) said that Jann is "demonic" 🤣 and another member of the jury didn't like his outfit.... oh, c'mon... this is sick. I don't see why a man couldn't wear clothes like Jann. I don't care about his sexual prefererance. He might be gay or streight, what does it matter? I do not agree with you. Yes, there is homophobic propaganda, but in the public media, which is the propaganda tube of the ruling party. This is about 30% of the population, not all Poles. It looks like a deliberate sabotage. If Jann would be Poland's representative, he could win the whole contest (with massive televote support). The jury E.Gorniak would lose her forever position in Poland's Eurovision history - she came 2nd in 1994, and she would not be mentioned anymore as the highest place. They just prevented this option. It's funny because when Harry Styles wears a skirt is ok, but when Jann reveals his belly, he's worse. I think his outfit was also appropriate for what he is singing about. To be in showbiz, you either need to have money or show your body (if you know what I mean). Facts to help you understand the voting better

The vote was rigged. Facts: 1) Blanka is friends with the son of Edyta Górniak who was head of the jury. 2) Her dancers are from the dance studio of yet another juror (Agustin Egurolla). 3) She’s been heavily promoted and already performed in TVP, e.g. at the New Year’s Eve broadcast with the same song. 4) Although Jann and Alicja were clearly the favourites, the jury strategically put them in 4th and 5th places to make sure that who the jury picked won. 5) The rules on how the winner is picked were changed a couple of days before the broadcast. In past years, the winner was picked based solely on the televote but this year they decided to do it 50/50 jury’s vote and televote. And they even added a disclaimer that in case of a tie, the jury’s vote breaks it. 6) Probably most damning piece of info: at 3pm TVP posted that Blanka won and proceeded to quickly delete the post. The winner was officially announced around 6:30pm. There are screenshots. It’s the homophobic nepotistic TVPiS that has spoken yet again, not Poland.

I think it is extremely insulting to voters that their vote was not taken into account at all. Jann won 50% of the vote. I think the jury wanted to choose a light and cheerful song, thinking that it would really work at Eurovision. I suspect that the Jann song was considered by the jury to be too heavy and complicated, considering the viewers and Eurovision fans to be idiots. Because their heads stayed in the 90's. While everything else went ahead. This is Poland, connections mean more than talent and charisma. And so it is almost every year. You will not go to Eurovision because you are not known in the Polish celebrity world so children, girlfriends of famous actors, singers, celebrities are promoted.

I don't think this had anything to do with homophobia. I have 2 arguments for that: 1. We've already sent an opely queer person, Michał Szpak, to ESC a couple of years ago. Polish television was in the same hands back then. 2. Jann wasn't the only performer objectively better than Blanka - the're were at least 2, maybe 3 other songs which I would respect as a jury's choice.

The voice is not shake. This is acting and emotions. TVP destroy audio for all singers. We fight to repair a Polish choice. Jann is our representative. #justiceForJann

It's not like LGBT is an issue in polish society, every poll will tell you, that the majority of poles are in favor of LGBT rights, it's just that polish government is constantly looking for an enemy. They constantly attack Germany, LGBT, lawyers, teacher, doctors, immigrants (except for Ukraine ones) etc. And since TVP is totally controlled by the polish government (until recently their ex politic was CEO of TVP) this broadcaster does whatever they say. And as it is in such cases, sometimes even without any order, self censure is applied. However, here we can combine this with the fact that TVP is promoting their own stars whenever they can. So, for example Rafal Brzozowski hasn't won any pre-selection to represent Poland, but he is a star of TVP and favorite of its CEO. And looking at Blanka presence in TVP, we can say that she is their favorite as well. Add to this conflic of interest - her choreographer was in the jury, and the fact that 2 out of 2 members of jury come directly from administration of polish media (both TV and radio) and there were no way for a fair verdict... The head of jury is a great polish star, but she have problems with reality, so she might even not realise what was going on - seriously it's possible, as she lives in her own world ;P

To clarify it we hate Blanka. We love JANN. His performance is too sexy for Poland you are right.

Public tv is political correct, they can be homophobic, but Polish Society is more tolerant that is shown in media / yet I am not sure of Jann orientation, it can be just a show. Polish goverment basically owns TVP, and yes they are very conservative. Jann is so creative and the song is really original. His performance is really captivating. Who cares whether he is gay, it's his private life and nobody's business. He could have gone really far with this song and instead we are getting a pretty face with no real talent.

I must say I love one moment of Blanka's song. It's when pal who comments makes that partucular face when she starts wiht "Bejbęęęęęę!" XDDDD Also, you must know that polish tv and cinematic sound makers have always been shit. So it's not always singer's fault. But - frankly- Blanka cannot sing. I both agree and disagree. Yes, it's their very conservative values. But if they didn't want Jann, then why put Blanka at nr. 1??? Come on. There were many acts five times better than her. He was simply not tame enough for our state TV to let him win. Dressed in a nice conservative suit and not doing any dancing but just standing there (see Ochmann act from last year) they would likely let him win. But it would not be the same performance. Let me say what a lot of people are really thinking about Blanka & Solo. WARNING: Beginning of RANT. Blanka from Poland is an utter embarrassment. Palms were definitely greased for her to represent Poland. I am so ashamed of them at TVP and Edyta Górniak, who totally threw integrity out of the window. The fact that Blanka's choreographer was on the jurors panel & Blanka's back up dancers are HIS dancers, the fact that Blanka is "great friends" with Edyta Górniak's son, the fact that Blanka's mother works/worked for TVP and her father is a wealthy Bulgarian businessman, the fact that the rules were changed just days before and the fact that she was announced the winner hours before she allegedly "won", it is just so obviously rigged in her favor.
