Change/add in title |disney canon So fans can understand why part after battle of Endor is so flat and dull (info you had avilable, not the way you talked about this) [As always big apologies about my gramar]
@eviltreemonster Until you go to the lower levels that is...its actually a super ridiculously scaled up version of what we have on most cities on earth, ultra capitalist societies that have a massive divide and imbalance of wealth between the rich and poor, you'd think that a society that has been technologically advanced for so many thousands of years would have learned to solve these kind of problems and eliminate all forms of poverty.
I would pay for a subscription to Disney+ if they made a series focused on the life of the average citizen of Coruscant. There’s so much to be explored in just that one planet.
If the earth was a single city with the population density of New York thirteen trillion one hundred eighty-three billion one hundred fifty-six million nine hundred six thousand people would live on the planet
I love the cyberpunk touch and the blade runner rainy dark lower level scenery. I would love a detective spyish serie placed on this magnificent planet.
Coruscant - indeed the entire planet is one big city and home of civilisation, intrigue and politics. A City that inspires both fear and courage for whoever holds Coruscant holds the fate of the Galaxy (something the Sequels seem to miss entirely and do not even pay homage to the ancient Capital)
Red Letter Media infamously labelled Coruscant "Planet Boring" in their Plinkett reviews, referring to the boring dragged-out expositions that took place on the Planet in the Prequels. Funnily enough Coruscant is probably my favourite Planet in Star Wars because it has such a unique and cool environment and for the reasons the video states. Unfortunately years of Prequel-bashing has made the 'boring' tag stick with Coruscant, and today Lucasfilm wouldn't dare return to the one-of-a-kind Ecumenopolis in Star Wars.
Actually of all the Star Wars movies the prequels had the most colourful and diverse worlds. Definitely better than Disney sequels where all the planets are either have generic earth-like landscapes or are just bland Original Trilogy rip-offs (Jakku is basically Tatooine in all but name, and there are planets that copy Yavin IV, Hoth etc)
Bit sad you didn't went with EU Coruscant. Ysanne Isard and the battle for Coruscant would be epic. You went EU with Thrawn and I had hoped you would stick with that, would be interesting to hear it none the less. That said I totally understand why you went cannon and I enjoyed every moment despite it.
Rayan Hachem I actually dislike the Yuzhan Vong quite a lot, it seemed to me to be a lot of lazy writing. "External threat against the galaxy, you must unite!" That play is very old and boring. By the battle of Coruscant I meant the New Republic taking the planet of the hands of Ysanne Isard who held it post-Endor. Rogue squadron lead the charge to take the city and it was quite a joy to read.
@@TheIfifi okay but it is here and you have a entire story with it , this is some thing in the History of Star Wars you can not deny it of you don't like it
The buildings themselves look more like the retro 20's through 50's look to me. This is very visible during the day. But as you said, the lighting during the night gives it the 80's vibe.
Always been extremely fascinated by the concept of this planet. I used to get so excited when I learned things about it as a kid. Hell, I get even more excited now. Great video.
You forgot about how Coruscant was originally known as Notron and that the planet was not just the original homeworld of the humans, it was also the Mandalorian’s original homeworld (back when they were referred to as the Taung).
TheObsidianX Expanded universe Mandalorians was a alien race called Taung. They started recruiting/converting non Taung into their culture. Over time the Taung died out but human mandalorians took over the culture. KOTOR series does a good job showing the Mandalorians during their height of power and fall
Isnt it strongly implied in KOTOR that tatooine was the original human homeworld? Then there was a cataclysmic war. Planet turned to desert, and sand people evolved to survive there from human origins?
House Atreides from Caladan.. House Harkonnen from Giedi Prime.. House Vernius from Ix .. PLEASE START WITH THE DUNE SERIES .. PLEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAASEEE !??
Dune starts production in 2019 by the Blade Runner director D.V. for release anytime between 2020 - 2022, for Part 1 of Dune and sometime at 2025 - 27 for part 2 (it is only Dune, not including Messiah nor Children of Dune)
Mraz Helmer i must have left out a dozen of interesting houses, like the Royal House Corrino of Kaitan or the Sisterhood of the Bene Gesserit .. *sigh* ... so many good stories to be told .. i just hope this channel will start the story :)
*Randomly listening to music, while checking youtube.* *Sees Templine Institute video about universe I never really cared about.* *Drops everything else just to see it.* EDIT: Can I get pinned? I really love your voice! I usually feel hyped after these videos, feeling proud to be member of human society.
You have to make Madripoor or Latveria one day. The two most interesting fictional locations in the Marvel Universe. One for it's convoluted history and strategic value, and the other for it's ruler and importance in the whole international scenery.
You guys need to do a legends episode. Maybe the Ancient Sith Empire? The Jedi Convenant or Darth Krayt's One Sith? Could you also do an episode on the land of Equestira?
I hold no ill judgement towards MLP and any of it's fans who are good, but given how much shit both get I highly doubt Templin would cover it for the sake of keeping their image
I love this. I used to read about Coruscant in books, finally got to see it in the prequels, and now this little documentary. I am so geeking out over this!
What I love about sci fi like this is imagining where I'd fit if I lived on coruscant. Would I live in middle class comfort or be under the surface battling for survival? Take my real life and put it with my job/skills in other universes like the Imperium of Man 40k.
Even with high technology, do you know how chaotic moving the capital constantly would be? It'd be a nightmare, administratively, and it ignores the legitimacy that Coruscant gives to whichever government controls it. It was the capital of the republic for 25,000 years.
then ironically the imperial remnant attacks it leading starfighter runs through it and besiege it with capital ships outside bombarding it while deploying hover cars and walkers onto its surface to simultaniously assault it through the larger areas
Imagine how many people died at the battle of Coruscat from debree (If debree acts like crashing ships in clone wars(lol)) Edit: Edited it for the guys who comments after two years
In the lore they talk about Coruscant having large planetary shields and large almost laser anti-aircraft placements across the planet that would primarily be used as part of a defense from planetary invasion from ships in the atmosphere but such as in the battle of Coruscant would be used to break up large crashing debris such as starships into smaller debris to cause less damage.
@@Liam-mk9zp I could see them shooting the debris but the ships were below the planetary shield, that's why the ship with the kidnapped chancellor didn't just jump out (besides the swarm of venators trying to block the way out too)
I want them to do a breakdown vid of the Thousand Sons. They're easily my favorite Legion in terms of artwork, iconography, and style. It's truly sad to see what happened to them.
As I commented before, when you rotate back to Warhammer 40K could you think about doing a feature on the Imperial Guard Regiment the "Tanith First and Only". Plenty of source material with I believe 15 books in the series.
I think it would be really cool if you guys did a video on one of the factions from "destiny." like the cabal or hive. I really love these videos and I think this would be really cool!
Using Disney "canon" - BOOOO, BOO THIS WOMAN! Other than that piece of *HERESY*, exceptional work, as per usual. There's always good stuff to be found on this channel :)
Captain Fordo Keep impersonating a fictional character "Captain", and keep on behaving as if it's illegal to disagree with corporate rape of a once beloved franchise. I'm sure you will make a lot of friends that way and won't be proverbially spat on. I'm not even going to ask you why you thing Disney "canon" is good for ANYTHING, because I know the answer won't be forthcoming. Not a single little fan-boy who profess to love the new direction can explain why they do that, you sure as hell won't be different.
I believe that the Templin Institute should next explore the different versions of the planet Cybertron. If that is not possible, then there is also the Galra Empire from Voltron: Legendary Defender that can be scanned and explored.
I would watch a live action Axum and Anaxes too - both are heavily urbanized planets with rich history(similar to Coruscant) but they are very militaristic and inhabited by extremely proud people(they would be perfect Imperial centers :D ) But Anaxes in Canon became an Outer Rim irrevelant planet, and Axum doesn't even exist(yet)
Coruscant was taken from Isaac Asimov's Trantor. Trantor appears in the Foundation novels. Another classic science fiction " influence" of George Lucas.
Would an interesting topic be the IMC from the Titanfall series? A mega corp that more or less dominated the expansion of the human race due to its ever growing need of resources, and its choke hold on fuel for starships?
what the star wars universe doesn't do properly is highly how significant coruscant not only because of cordinates but just by the sheer size of its population. Just by population alone it should be able to pump out recruits that draft entire sectors, same for the orbital defenses it must have and even sheer tax base. Imagine the security forces alone must number in the billions
