The Templin Institute Idea for future videos Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader Canon Resistance from Terminator Saga Palpatine from Canon Edward and Alphonse Elric From Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood
Little fun fact. In legends, there was a Hutt who served as the Republic's Supreme Chancellor. Blotus the Hutt was loved by almost everyone in the galaxy.
Don't forget Choda(sp) who was known for feeding the poor of the world he made his home. He shouldn't have used HK-47's assassination protocol so much so much.
The one I mentioned was from a game. Knights of the Old Republic. Feeding the poor wasn't a charitable act on his part, he got caught sending an assassination droid after his competition and was killed for it. That was how they disposed of the body.
*"I will not give up my favorite decoration. I like Captain Solo where he is." - Jabba the Hutt* Yay, black market and mercenaries! Cool way to celebrate the coming of Solo! (please be a good movie please)
Fabian Grujic And don't anticipate as well, it may be corrupt and poorly accurate, but the sound design and VFX look on point so far. That's the thing with the new Star Wars : it's a box of chocolate, you never know what you're gonna get.
Fabian Grujic Why? The Solo movie has everything that a good movie needs. A talented pair of writer's (Kasdan and his son) and an experienced and talented director. We shall see how good this movie will be, gonna watch it on tuesday
Hutts are creepy, often disgusting and absolutely terrifying when you realize their backstory and just how intelligent they are. Extremely intelligent, long lived and immune to force powers.
Most Empires have had similar relationships in real life. Everytime maps are showing of the height of the Roman Empire some of those territories or actually client kingdoms. Seducing a kingdom into cooperation can be easier than Conquest.
Every video this channel puts out is amazing. It’s like a graduate level course in the topic. Why would anyone thumbs down any of these?! Well done Templin! The Star Wars videos are my favorites.
Uh oh. You spoke of the Hutts. Now they may turn you into Bantha poodoo! :P Great work as always. As an idea for a future video, I suggest a dossier on Prince Xizor or a regular video on Black Sun.
Really comprehensive and professional, I approve as always of your superior reporting and analyzation mastery! Suggestion: Wakanda from Marvel or the Forerunner Ecumene from Halo
on all the SW maps I've seen, Hutt space has been static in size for thousands of years. It's just sat there like a tumor between the Core and the Outer Rim.
The problem is that the foundation has no set story, origin, structure, history or values, you would need to choose a canon to portray and there are alot of them
Finn Gardiner Well the history of the foundation is very hard to find seeing as the Foundation wouldn't really need to write about themselves but you can talk about what they do like "The SCP Foundation investigates anomalies and secures them for their and humanity's safety"
Having watched the 100k special I'm not sure if the institute records history by conventional means so the option would still be open. As difficult as it would be to piece a complete narrative from various canons would still be really cool
Once again, another great video. I like the way the Templin Institute will summarize and expand on a subject, you think you may know about but, puts all the pieces together, often dramatically. I may have to increase my Patreon pledge, this is high quality, the kind of sites I can count on two hands, in my opinion. I'm sure all the people that are suggesting topics are supporting the Institute are Patreon supporters, right?
Hey guys I just want to say congratulations on 100k I've been here from the begining and its nice to see my favorite RU-vid channel grow to these heights. Never lose faith.
According to the bounty hunter handbook, specifically assistant accounts director 2T-DS, Kajidic is a loose term referring to Hutt clans and enterprises, and can be roughly translated as "Someone's gotta own it, why not us?"
Jabba was always one of my favorite characters, and it felt really surreal when he died. It was perfect though, because Luke rose as the first Jedi in decades and one of his first great feats was to take down a criminal organization that had lasted for hundreds, maybe thousands of years.
I'm surprised there was no "But there are whispers in the sands of Tatooine where a lone gunman donning Mandalorian Armour raises a Hutt child in a quiet town" or even "Word from the nowhere planet of Jakku, that there is a cult that worships a Hutt, faster and physically more powerful than what we've seen elsewhere in the Galaxy"
A Random Crusader -, I felt they were more akin to the Sicilian (Italian) Mafia, the Zhan Consortium seemed more like the Albanian (Russian) Mafia, while the Black Suns Syndicate was more like the Yakuza/Asian Triads at least that's how I see them.
I'd love to see an episode on the Amtrak Federation from The Amtrak Wars novel series, always found that a very compelling future, post-apocalyptic society.
Gotta give the Hutts credit, they have seen the rise and fall of many factions since the old Republic and still did business constantly despite the constant wars.
Nar Shaddaa: best place in da galaxy :D Money, Casino, Bright City, Twi'leks, and that one rodian worshipping a togruta dancer in SWTOR I could not stop laughing at xD
Hello everyone I really enjoy your videos and also...don't know if anyone else has said this...I really like the voice of the videos. English is not my mother language and her tone of voice allows me to understand everything. Greetings from a Venezuelan Living in Chile
Y'gotta wonder how ridiculously cunning and manipulative the Hutts must've been to get anything done because of how useless they'd be at pretty much anything else.
Faction Suggestions Tau Empire (Warhammer 40k) Necron Legions (Warhammer 40k) Eldar Craftworld Ulithwe (Warhammer 40k) United Empire of Earth (Star Citizen) Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation (Titanfall) Fronteir Milita (Titanfall) Empire of the Rising Sun (C&C Red Alert 3)
Empire of the Isles, Whalers, Abbey of the Everyman or Brigamore Witches from Dishonored Ryan Industries, Fontaine Futuristics, Vox Populi, Rapture Family or Founders from BioShock Hammerites, Mechanists, Keepers or Pagans from Thief SHODAN, The Many, UNN or TriOptimum from System Shock
I would be interested in either the Assassins or Templars from Assassins Creed. Please and Thank you I love this channel and it has been a joy to witness its astounding growth rate first hand.
Did the Hutts, especially Jabba, really need to be this big of a deal in the lore? Jabba always felt like a small time mob boss in the grand schemes of the galaxy, especially with the almost bunker like feel of his palace giving off a sense that he was more concerned with his own survival than anything else. He seemed more like a cockroach.
"Jabba was assassinated by rebel agents during a celebratory jaunt on his sail barge across the sands of Tatooine" sounds like some Imperial propaganda to me. Jabba was killed in a prisoner revolt by the Princess of Alderaan, whom he had enslaved. The celebratory jaunt on the sail barge was above the Great Pit of Carkoon, the nesting place of a Sarlacc, where he intended to execute several high-ranking members of the Alliance to Restore the Republic.
Requests- Cronos from Guyver: The Bioboosted Armor Borg Collective from Star Trek Coalition of Ordered Governments from Gears of War Umbrella Corporation from Resident Evil
NEVER! Guyver was the anime that got me into anime in the first place! Yeah, there are better shows but it will always have a special place in my heart. Although I really wish that the manga would hurry up and finish and not keep going on and off hiatus!
Suggestion for a future episode: the Organization of International Rescue (from the 1960s series Thunderbirds! & the 2015 series Thunderbirds Are Go!).
So they are Batarian slugs. Got'cha. Groups: Still, LDO from Dies Irae (you're not going to see me not suggest them). Armacham from F.E.A.R. Officio Assassinorum from Warhammer 40K Dead Apostle Ancestors from Nasuverse Persons: Kurou Daijuji from Demonbane Kischur Zelretch Sweinorg from Nasuverse Reinhard Heydrich of the LDO from Dies Irae Arcuied Brunestud from Nasuverse (Melty Blood, Tsukihime)
I like your videos especially the Enclave in Fallout 3. But I recommend doing a video about the Major Factions in Fallout 4 or in Fallout NV. I would really appreciate it.
One point I’d like to make about their home world: If I remember correctly- in Legends at least- Nal Hutta wasn’t the Hutts’ original home world. I don’t know whether or not that’s still the case in canon, but the Hutts invaded Nal Hutta and renamed it as such after taking it from the original sentient inhabitants early on in Galactic history. I don’t remember whether they drove the original species to extinction or not, but the Hutts’ original home world was essentially ruined by them and then when they came to Nal Hutta they drastically altered the ecology there as well with their destructive habits. That, or I’m completely wrong and remembering everything incorrectly, in which case please correct me if I am wrong. XD
Can you do thinking machines of dune? I know them only from main books so it will be soooooo mazing to hear more [cos there is not a single movie about them on yt]
