I've watched this video over 20 times. It's fantastic. What is your engine size and horsepower? I have 65 with a he althy 350 just shy of 550 hp. These cars are fun to drive. Safe driving sir!

Great driving and great video. Reminds me of running me and my dads C2 s up highway 1 in ca. So many times you feel the need to shift but the next corner is just a half second away so you just keep on winding sometimes. Have you ever driven highway 1? You'd love it

What suspension/chassis modifications? Need to get my '64 to handle like yours. Hell of a run by the way!!

You really don't need much. Stiff springs, good shocks, and modern tires on 17/18" wheels. These cars were way ahead of their time. In terms of chassis mods, I'd look into gusseting- specifically at the engine mounts and front lower control arms, fully seam-weld your frame. That should do wonders for you. New bushings everywhere. Get yourself an early C3 strut rod bracket. Redesigned from C2's, will bolt right up, and give you better geometry which will be useful with wider tires. Heim joints on the rear strut rods if you can afford so, poly stabilizer bar bushings and endlinks, engine, transmission, and rear diff (pinion/snub mount), rubber for all other bushings (or del rin if you're rolling in the money). Rear diff crossmember, get a vansteel crossmember reinforcing kit. $50, and will help the rear stay planted in hard corners with wide tires. Factory spring rates for SB cars is 270#ish fronts, 170# rear. I'll be using 550# fronts with a 355# monoleaf rear Follow that guide roughly, and you should have a phenomenal car without spending a huge chunk of change. You certainly don't need coilovers, different a arms, custom chassis, etc.. to see results.

Completely agree w @theglacier. People drive worn out vettes and think thats how old cars feel orr should feel. A neary stock C2 with just some of the stiffness mods make it feelike a slot car. M 65 would really wallow and the first thing i did was new rubber bushings and a bb front sway bar with nice 60 series rubber. And that made a huge diff. Then the others things listed and it just gets better and better.

Yes. He is stock suspension. Just a weight reduction program. Tires are the #1 advancement since the 60s.
