Corey has played with some of the most brilliant musicians of his generation and for some reason his star always seems to shine brighter. Being a star goes beyond just pure talent or genius alone which a lot of people have. Jesus Molina is beyond incredible. I've always been a fan of his musical genius but he's lacking support from the music industry as an artist which is something Corey has attained.
I’d make 2 points. 1. Corey was and still is, in the gospel circuit in his early years and the gospel movement always pushes/promote its great and up and coming musicians. And maybe more importantly, 2. At a certain point corey started to push/promote his own brand as well (online workshops, his own band, funk apostles, etc). I find a ton of amazing musicians everyday on RU-vid so it’s not always how amazing you are as much as the self promo of that talent. Look at quennel gaskin. I personally think he is the greatest pianist/keyboard/organ virtuoso currently alive but people ONLY started to hear about him in past 2 yrs or so because he was just a humble guy and ho loved to play but never capitalized on the self marketing until recently. Justin shultz is a good example of jumping on and taking advantage of the self promotion early.
You must understand Corey was born & raised in the US & got exposure as a child on the music scene unlike Jesus Molina who came from Colombia, South America in recent years but gaining support & recognition from fans in US, regardless of the US Music Industry bureaucracy. One of Latin América's music legend Juan Luis Guerra & famed singer musician Noel Schajris are supporters of Jesus, not to mention Latino Contemporary Christian Singer Jesus Adrian Romero & the David Foster of Latino music Rudy Perez. So I assume because of language & culture barriers you assume he doesn't have support. So you definitely are unaware of those highlights. Cory is not known in the Hispanic or Latino circle unless you're a musician into his genre of music unlike Jesus Molina.
@@daniellevin3056 Huh? Dude, stop mistaking three things: (1) musical skill (2) opportunities and (3) fame. You're drawing comparisons between Cory and Jesus based on their musical talent only. I don't care how talented you are, there is always someone who is going to be more famous and successful than you and that's in anything. Some people will have more opportunities than others not because of talent but because they'll have a different network and circle of business professionals, supporters, fans and friends which will contribute to their success...or not.
You just have to sit back and say wow! sounds good! I don’t wanna practice one note .. I just want to listen to them and try to grasp what head space they’re in
Justin Lee-Schultz just had to have a honourable mention in this unreal meeting between these two! These moments should be written in pure Gold! Priceless
@@Newambientmusic Both are amazing musicians. Cory doesn't have the Latin Jazz Pop Fusion Jesus masters while Jesus doesn't master the Gospel Funk genre like Corey. So let's not compare oranges & apples. It just shows your lack of ignorance from a music perspective. No offense let's enjoy both wonders.
