I've been meaning to take a look at Spirit Halloween, I haven't gone in years lol. Also, the wig from the costume set...it...it hurts.

“You can’t hairspray a wig” -my mom, 2012 when I wanted to be flame princess for Halloween So from personal experience yeah, those Halloween store color sprays work great for dying your hair vibrantly but damn they smell terrible, do not function as hairspray (your hair just kinda stays mildly damp) and will stain things you lean on for too long (rip my friend’s mom’s car’s headrest). But I think I looked pretty good even though it wasn’t the image I had in my head (I didn’t do the body paint, just the gem and my hair was down rather than sprayed up)

I got my first cosplay for 60-ish dollars from Aliexpress If that is 50 dollars, then my cosplay should have cost 150

It's crazy to me that people still buy wigs at party stores like this! I've gotten my last 3 wigs on Amazon for around $20 each and they have a way better color selection, as well as looking WAY more realistic (With roots & layering).

I returned my coraline costume because everything was small. 10/10 do not recommend the actual costume set. Just make your own.

The cosplay definitely won, but the jacket being opaque and having pockets was a plus. Can't wait to see the next video on Spirit Halloween!

We don’t have Spirit Halloween in Sweden TwT, i only know about ”halloween-affären” wich translates to ”the halloween-shop” and i have only seen one in my entire life

Spirit Halloween Empoyee here. The majority of our costumes are actually trash. Except when you get the Premium quality ones. There are a few. I got a Sarah Sanderson one and i wear it all the time! It actually holds up pretty well as ive worn it seveal times.

My son he had orange to spray in his hair and it stinked his hair when he was little

Did the boots come with it or is it just boot covers- do I have to buy boots then put the covers on?

Hm, assuming that they are anything like costume shops where I live (Australia), they should be good for *basic* props, things like generic knives or scythes, that you can then build on to make them look better. Also spirit gum and fake blood.

I genuinely enjoy pointing out crappy Halloween wigs to my husband and explaining why they're terrible. The problem with Halloween costumes I think is how they're mass manufactored vs a hand tailored cosplay. They're especially made knowing you're just going to wear it once or maybe keep it around for a few years. You can obviously forego a lot of quality when it's only going to be worn like five times maxumum.

You can also put baby powder on your shiny wig to make it look more natural or you can bathe the wig in fabric softener!

the only thing I remember about Halloween costumes is never being able to get the costume back in the plastic bag 😭

My spirit halloween store opened in like August

You could put the boot covers on a smaller pair of shoes. Like mary janes, something with no calf coverage. It looks like the covers are strong enough to hold on their own and that might be how you're meant to wear them so it might look better.
