It is not for nothing that Kulish bears another, unofficial name - field porridge. This is a unique Ukrainian dish, which was still prepared by Zaporizhia Cossacks and Chumaks.
Hearty millet porridge with meat and lard became a real salvation in harsh field conditions, satisfying hunger deliciously.

🍱 Ingredients (based on a 12-liter cauldron):
▪ fresh lard - 700 gr
▪ smoked lard - 500 gr
▪ meat (pork) - 3 kg
▪ onion - 1.5 kg
▪ carrots - 1.5 kg
▪ millet - 0.7 / 1.2 kg (liquid / thick porridge)
▪ water - 5 liters
▪ spices: salt, pepper
