Hi Gigo, Please advise, of the labour cost of GHC1800, 1. How many masons 2. How many labourers 3. And how many days did they spend in laying the 1000 blocks. Thank you
Was just 2 Manson in the beginning of the laying Blocks (setting out) till lintel level which took 10 days then about 5 Mansons ,1 carpenter and a steel bender joined to finish the block laying and also the installation of the pillars which also took 14 days .....That's the amount paid for 2 Mansons and the contractor for laying 1000 blocks..NB setting out the blocks in the beginning takes time because of the angles and the measurements so it requires professionals.....and they also did the labour work themselves (carrying the blocks and arranging them on top of the foundation ,mixing the cement and sand etc.....)
Do you really GHC 1800 is any good amount to hire all these craftsmen? Is that how much they Pay you in whatever country that you live in? Why do you think it's good to exploit people?
Is it better to use a 5 inches or 6inches hollow blocks for the second floor after the flowing??... Please advise in terms of cost savings and strength efficiency.
@apaug630 no problem...this what the channel is for.....the 6" gives you more space for your Windows, Doors and burglar Proof Installation because of it thickness which also helpsto carry the weight of Roof..... but it's not a big deal to use 5" Hollow blocks on the 2nd floor if you want to keep it simple ( not adding another floor)
Yess please 6" for the settings......about the foundation am sorry I don't have that records...... the initial owner was done with that phase when I took over
Yeah! She is Right depending on the sizes of your windows.....am not using fence wall around the building so for me 6" solid is safe....but I think its best to use 6" solid or hollow blocks around the building and then use 5" hollow or solid blocks for the inner division......

@@Gigo in the video, u mentioned the cost of labour for laying the 1000 blocks was ¢1800, and I wanna know what went into the ¢1800- how many masons and laborers?

Good work bro, but tell ur Mason the spacin between the two bricks too much it should b less than 2inch the most this it look like 4inch fills wit a lot of Cement it doesn't make the brick look good..
So far 5,600 blocks...we still have to cast the beams and then lay blocks for the hidden roof so let's say roughly 6k blocks can get us till the next level
From digging of the trench till the filling stage was done by a Mason..... my contractor took over from the casting of the concrete slab till date and he is going to finish the work ....I couldn't deal with the Mason anymore
@@Gigo thanks very much for such vital information am living outside and I wanted to go start something like this in Ghana but I have no Idea how to go about it I just bought two plots of lands 100×100 each , you mean giving it for a contractor to do it is the best option right?
Yess please I believe giving it to a contractor is the best option but you have to get some rules how things should be done and also request for pictures and videos at every stage before you continue to the next stage
