Hello, 1)I am applying to Thomas More for a data science degree but they doubled the fees to 9000 euros/yr is 9000 a year worth it? can how much of this can I pay by working on the vacations? 2)Do I need a blocked account for the 2nd year? or is showing the funds or a part-time job contract is enough? 3)9000 is too expensive how much will I be able to earn and pay? BUT STUDIES ARE MORE IMP TO ME 4)I still have 8 months left is it enough to learn Dutch? Or which language should I know to have a good time in Belgium.....

The fee is high try to find a university with lower fee. You can earn upto 1200 per month in case you find a job that gives you 20 hours every week. Apart from that you have summer, winter ,easter Holidays in which you can work more hours. Saving 9000 is still a huge task to be honest. Learn dutch if you are coming to flander region or French if you are coming to wallonia region

Check KU leuven that is beat university in Belgium and also in top 100 in Worlds. They offer almost every program and it is not that much expensive. Fee ranges from 900-4500 euros per year depending on the program.

For applications for 2022-2023 the final amount is 800 EURO/month. An additional 100 EURO has to be added for administrative costs. So the total amount for year students will be 13 x 800 = 10.400 + 100 = 10.500 EURO Note that for new applications for academic year 2023-2024 the final amount will raise to 950 EURO/month. After completing your degree you get one year job search visa. Note During job search visa you can work unlimited (full time). You have to search proper job. After getting proper job your visa will be converted to work permit.

If you learn fluent Dutch the probability of getting jobs are more. There are a lot of jobs here, the only barrier students feel is language. If you master the language skill, I think you will probably get a job opportunity .

Normally the wage per hour is 12 euro , so you can earn more than 1000 euro if you work full 20 hours in a week

Not much difficult to get. You can start applying for job after getting your residency permit from Stad (town hall). You can get student jobs mostly through job Interims. You can also find it directly through fb or other such platforms.

You have 600 hours tax free in one year. After finishing 600 hours you will start paying tax 18-20%. So if you work with through job interims they will only give you 20 hours l.

However there are still case where students work directly with employers not through job interims then they might give you more than 20 hours per week. Still you will starting paying tax after 600 hours
