Just put mine in today. Did Have to install reptical though. (easy peasy) I told my kids to bring over any yard limbs they needed ground up! I love it! I went from 1/2 HP to 1 1/4 HP. Lights dim and house shakes when I fire her up! The rim magnet a great feature Highly reccomend.
Thanks. I installed it without checking this video. The was a leak on the discharge ( I used the old one). I fixed it following the 3 seconds this video shows how and now is working great. Thanks.
Thank you for taking the time to make video and share your experience. I have same situation as you did with leak from rusting with old disposal and bought same replacement at Costco to install. I need to tackle the job but am confident after watching your video.
Thank you for making this video. I have the exact same leak and situation and also want to use the new slim line disposal from Costco. It was good to see how the outlet pipe connects and that I don’t have to buy an extender
I just got one from Costco, for $99 but I saw it right before I purchased different brand from Home Depot for $132. I returned the previous one and am ready to replace my new Food Dispenser. It was very helpful. Spasibo bratan! 👍
Just by luck, I recently found my self in a local Costco to pick up some groceries. Ran across this exact same disposal unit (in red, too!) and as luck would have it, it was the last day it was to be on sale; normally $99, it was purchased for $75. My 15+ year old InSinkErator Badger 5 was in need of replacement. Lady Luck must have been on my side. Although a garbage disposal was not on my list of things to buy at Costco that day, it happened to catch my eye as I walked down the isle. A 3-bolt type mount made it very easy to just swap out the Badger (like you did). In my case though, neither the existing sink flange nor the one that came with the American Standard disposal was long enough to allow for installation for the 'Silver Guard' magnetic protector that comes with the AS Slim Line. My porcelain sink was too thick and didn't allow for enough space on the sink flange to wrap the Silver Guard around... no biggie! Was considering buying an extended garbage disposal flange but didn't want to spend at least $20 for just that piece, naah. Went at least 15 years with the InSinkErator without metal pieces tearing it up. I'm thinking this one's going to do just fine. More power, slimmer, quieter and in a Ferrari like red color as well. Can't go wrong with that!
No, I didn't get any requests so it somewhere in garage waiting. Anyway, I am happy that I replaced with better what I had before.. still no complaints
I don't get it, you get it to work with a light switch like those models in the 80's?! Where is the sink cap that should make it work properly?... If that's the case, it seems extremely outdated!
@@askdad do you activate the waste disposal unit with a light switch/button or is it the drain blocker that activates the unit? I’ve seen many weird units that are button or switch activated and no company seems to elaborate on the manner in which the device is activated. My favorite was kitchenAid with a lift and turn activation…
@@hadassaanouman8462 hard agree haha. Also, not sure if you're a Rick and Morty fan but I always think of that episode where Rick says "all species with less than 6 limbs are considered handicapped here", I feel like the same goes with language and over in Europe. *American here trying to learn my 2nd/3rd languages*
