Costco cracking down on membership card sharing

I was working for a company, delivering a order. And they are really aggressive the way they approach the customers. I know I'd be automatically not wanting to show ID the way they flag you down and shout

So true, as a former Costco Employee of 5 years it's because the entire staff hates there job. Most of the workers at Costco have worked there forever and they know nothing other than Costco. There all miserable with there lives cause they wished they did something else for a living.

@gustavorosas4065 I didn't say every employee. There are exceptions and some friendly people but I would it's around 80% of employees hate working at Costco. Costco used to be the top retail pay for employees but that's not the case anymore. Costco used this to their advantage to constantly threaten your job. Most employees are non educated so they couldnt afford to lose there job with there current pay.

That's probably all a lie! When I did go to the elevated Walmart, I felt like I needed a shower when I left. The "help" is astonishingly useless, and no where to be found, all of the elevated Walmarts that I've been in, have dingy lighting, horrible parking lots, etc.....also, the elevated Walmart, closed 65 stores a few years back, leaving their under payed employees to find out they were out of a job, when they should up to "work", doors bolted shut, etc......yeah, they're a real class act, but, since it hasn't arrived in your backyard yet, or affected you......but, keep on supporting them, you're a hero!

Yeah, and if you want to be there. Your dad can get you a costco cash card. You don't need a membership to shop with a cash card.

Maybe, you should talk to your mother? Your mother signed up for the membership. In the agreement it states that the membership is for the person whose name is on the front of the card. Which means in this case, your mother. It doesn't mean you, or anyone else, but, your mother! Regardless, of what you think, that's the way it is. Oh, and here's another tid-bit, buy your own membership, and quit sucking on your mother's breast....if you're 16 and above, you can have your own membership, and you can also have an extra membership for one of your entitled friends, k? You and your mother, are part of the reason/problem Costco is now checking pictures on the back of membership cards, to ensure the integrity of the membership for all the other Costco members who don't lend out there cards because they think that's what Costco should do, capiche???!!

I got about$700 in cash rewards last year plus another little check to cover another year of membership....not all things at Costco are the best price, but if one is careful there are good buys.....the discount on their gas saves quite a bit too,....

Yeah I have a company so my exec membership with a couple add on purchasers, I actually end up not just covering the membership cost, but I end up with like an additional 300 to 500 depending on the purchasing that year. It's like getting one free shopping spree per year, plus free membership. That doesn't work out for everyone, but I agree that they haven't raised rates in ages.

And, just so you know, the CEO of Costco, gets paid about 10 million less than the CEO of Sam's, who closed 65 stores in 2017.....

Yes, they are a profitable company. They also pay their employees more than anyone else doing the same type of business, off the best health care to both full and part timers, have one of the best 401k plans on the planet, and offer many other ancillary services to their employees, paid holidays, (9 per year) better working hours, better vacation vs. time worked, after a few years of service (hours worked) yearly bonuses of 5500.00, split two times per year (2750.00 in March, 2750.00 in October).......pays taxes in the community, employees about 250 of your fellow citizens from each store......yeah, they suck.....moron!

They do have my picture on my card... they merely wave you through on entry, instead of making you scan it on entry, with your picture showing up.

When you walk into Costco , you’re supposed to show your card walking in . She suspected you weren’t a member, since you weren’t showing it walking in. For this instance , the news segment, the Cashiers aren’t checking the picture on the back of the card, you physically hand them the card and when it’s your turn to pay , they are supposed to look at the picture,scan it an return it to you.
