Costco's CRAZY Return Policy: Everything You Need to Know! 

If I were a Costco shopper I would only return an item if it grossly fails to meet my expectations

I bought Vitamix blender 6 years ago for $450, and it’s stop working, I thought the warranty was for 10 years and when I return it they said it’s whole life warranty , I was surprised 😅 I had 💯 refund

What about a mattress purchased two years ago and a read from one of the handles and I kind of burned it with the hairdryer because of my grandson is that returnable?

My wife has worked there for over thirty years, she works in returns. They had a guy who bought a full lamb, he came back a month later with only a small Tupperware container full, he said it tasted funny, they returned the full price of the entire lamb.😂

Hi. I dropped my Samsung tablet on the floor, and that made cracks all over the screen. Can I still return it? I purchased it last November 2023, so it’s still within 90 days. 😢

I'm glad you put that joking clause in there. It would be an illegal practice to revoke your membership for a policy they advertise. I would never advise it anyway, but it's a comforting thing.

It helps to have your receipt, it makes the Return line go much faster.

First off great video! Question I know the 90day return policy on all electronics. Does it also apply to exchanges? For example if I bought a new Apple Watch in Dec could I still exchange it in April?

Costco’s generous policy only works if it’s customers are honest. If they are not, it will be revoked for everyone.

one caveat to the 90 days for electronic if defective they give an additional year on top of manufacturer warranty so they will take it back within two years if defective

costco's return policy is its saving grace for me because i am honestly too scared to make trips there lol

I bought a massage chair from Costco and it doesn’t do exactly as advertise but I’ve had it now for year and a half. my question is what it be considered a major appliance or furniture? I’ve seen couches get returned, but I don’t know if this would be considered furniture or major appliance. Also I bought it online and I’ve heard of people getting a hassle when they tried to return online purchases at the Costco store Last I heard the lady saying she needed the contact Costco online to do a return, and that the lady couldn’t just bring it to the store.

Any experience with returning an electronic appliance(OTR microwave) within 90 days which has been unfortunately damaged by electrician during installation? The electrician hardwired the device instead of using the provided plug point 😢 Will Costco accept this return?

I purchased a pack of 3 honey bottles. I didnt like the honey like I like the bjg bottle I usually buy. Not wanting to waste my money I kept using one bottle before I decided to donate the bottles. Then I remembered costcos generous return policy. Unfortanatly the costo rep said she couldn't take it back because more than half of a bottle was used. Technically 1/3 of the total was used. Anyway despite not seeing that posted anywhere in the return policy my return was not accepted

Large retailers can leverage a return rate as a quasi no interest loan, that's why they'll make a deal with the devil YOU! and give you lots of time to "call their debt" and return the collateral (ie the boots cost them $10, you lent them $59.95 aka don't run a pawnshop!😄). Many items are resold as new, a few on clearance others return to manufactures.

Really surprised to find out that (according to you, anyway) people throw away boxes immediately and lose receipts "all the time." I grew up having a receipt drawer in the house where receipts go and are checked over periodically. I've always saved boxes at least through the warranty period. Something I don't understand is leaving an item's empty box in the parking lot. Am I the only one that thinks this practice is just plain irresponsible and rude?

Just went a did a Costco return for a food item. It was a chow mien dish of sort. Nothing special. They said they will do the refund this time only. I just said ok no problem. No reason to question it but just did not seem like an open return policy to me. Who know

great video, thanks. i bought a big tv from costco 1 year ago. they told me to call samsung, as there is now a foot wide black vertical stripe/band, just left of center. samsung sent out a 3rd party service co. to inspect. although you cant feel any mark on the screen, they said something hit the tv, and its probably not covered. it worked fine when i turned it off, showed the screen defect the next morning. i have no kids or pets. NOTHING hit the screen. they sent an email estimate of about $500 +, this is unacceptable. costco also gave me a 3 year extended warranty too. so what do i do now? i spent almost 3 grand on it. im 67, and not rambunctious around electronics, and im the only one in this room, at all times. pls help.

QUESTION - If the item was a gift and you do not have a receipt and it's a treadmill and our of warranty now. Can I still return even if it was a gift? Thank you!

You can't return food items that are past their expiration date

NOT IN COSTCO UK. NO ONE PICK THE PHONE ON CUSTOMER SERVICE. Warranty for two years for electronic security item and now COSTCO said not warranty. IS THIS A LIED?

i returned everything i ever bought from costco - everything is free at costco because you can return everything.

Once you are flagged and tracked as an abusive returner, you will get a letter which can lead you to your membership being CANCELED!

How about not being a jerk. If you buy something and its broken, or torn, and that is the WAY IT WAS when you bought it, that is perfectly reasonable. Return something that you never used, (wrong size, wrong color, etc..) then fine, but customers who use items and then return them for full price when they simply no longer need, or like, the item are being 'jerks' and are raising the cost of the items "I" purchase.

I need some GASOLINE reimbursement JUNK. Worked great for a COUPLE months then POOF. Screwed. for a Hisense TV I bought In JUNE. It’s September and the Damned ting just died. DEAD. It’s an 80 Mile round trip to return the POS. Who pays for THAT?????
