In this week's video, I'll be sharing my recent journey to the western part of Ireland. It's a beautiful time of the year with the leaves starting to change, and it's getting cosy. I stayed at the Mount Falcon near Balina in north county Mayo, which is a gorgeous country house with stunning decor. I live in a small 1900s cottage home that I love! It is surrounded in woods, meadows and farmlands...as far as the eyes can see. I call it Enchanted Cottage. If I lived in a vast country estate...I would call it, "Fairie Manor"...because surely the fairies are living in the surrounding woods and fields, sharing in my good fortune!

So cute!!! ❤😂 I too just got a kitten. And I said no more cats. Because it is so devastating when they go. It has been 5 years since I had a cat. But the cheeky girl next door brought him over when he was three weeks old. "just to let me see him." The rest is history. I welcomed him on the Thursday past. I LOVE HIM.

If I won millions I wouldn’t want a country estate. I’d want an old farmhouse with a few acres & I’d live off grid. I’d plant a wood on a couple of my acres, I’d have a veg plot, some chickens & a few dogs. If it wasn’t already named I’d call it Bluebell Wood Cottage.

You’re totally right about staying in a beautiful place sometimes we just need to make the break about the hotel / manor . All to often we pay a lot of money staying somewhere only to sleep there . Looks stunning enjoy every moment ❤.☘️

We named our home (far from a Country Estate but we love it) Chateau Jerrichaud. Chateau for my husband's french background and Jerrichaud is a combination of both of our last names. Now I have a question for you @daintydiaries, did you get the Falconer's (bird guy) number? He was fine!! ;-)

Downpatrick Head is amazing! We liked it much better than the Cliffs of Moher. It was deserted and we had it all to ourselves. The Wild Atlantic Way is just beautiful.

I had nesting hawks on my land, so I named my home Hawks Head. There was at a small ridge so I thought it was appropriate! Those birds were wonderful! Thank you for the tour! jd

Loved your falcon adventure. I rescued a butterfly from the entrance to my work. It's all enclosed so couldn't get out. I took it outside, put it in a huge pot plant, baught apple juice, that was pure instict, and left the lid with apple juice in it. I hope it made it, I had to get back to work. 🦋With these big manors, if they are heritage listed, there are guidelines and protocols that need to be followed, to sustain the history and integrity of the building. Its a good thing, just may be timely and costly for renovations. Not sure what my manor name would be 🤔

"Dainty Manor" would be sweet and accurate! Where I live, almost all the houses have quite poetic, seafaring related names (many of them are or have been summer residences), and mine has none so far, why I actually try to find a fitting name for almost a year now. It's not easy!

What a luxurious country manor! I love to go away and relax! Just lie on the beach or pool deck, and never leave the hotel. My hubby and I did that for our honeymoon. Eight days of bliss at a luxury resort, massages, and room service.💖

Catherine, I'm so jealous of your falconry experience! I'm sure at some point I will get a kestrel. ;) Not just NYC, many cities in the US created havens for peregrines. They are no longer endangered here and I see them rather regularly. Our Bald Eagle has come back too. I sometimes see them in the grocery parking lot.

If I won the euro millions, I'd build myself a beautiful big georgian house, and have it so it is cheap to maintain. I love Mayo ❤️ I'm from Westport, but I live in kilkenny. My daughter and I treated ourselves to the pink toile from foxford Woollen Mills. It looks fabulous and is very cosy 😊 so happy you enjoyed Mayo 🥰👍

And you get better gas mileage if your tires are properly inflated. What a beautiful Estate. How much fun was it to be with the Falconer. Love the new bed linens. Use the striped side for fall. If I owned and estate I like the name Ashmore Estates. You must have a plant or floral name like Dahlia House or Carton Manor that sounds regal. Have you seen the BBC documentary about Highclere Castle with Lady Carnarvon. How she met Julian Fellowes (Downton Abby) and said it was heaven sent to finally have the money to renovate the castle. It is very interesting. good video.
