Pop the kettle, grab a blanket and get cosy with me in this Sunday's video. I had planned for a garden video today, but it was a heavy rainy day here in Ireland. There is the option of a cattio if you want the cats to be able to come outside with you but no risk of other cats or the birds. A fun DIY project too, they can be attached to a window or cat flap with a tunnel. Made of mesh so they can get the smells of outside but head back in if they get scared.

Love this idea! I was telling her on another U.K. channel I watch Kay attaches her kitties leashes to the Laundry line when she’s out in the yard, they seem to love it! The channel is LIVING THE LIFE YOU LOVE* Yes the mirror idea! We have a Big rectangle mirror in our stairway, perfect

YES that's what I said too! I suggested that in another video of the kitties when she first got them but she hasn't responded to that comment. It would such fun to see her creativity and woodworking skills making a catio for the furry ones.

It would be pretty to have your staircase open to the living room. Hanging a big mirror in the staircase and a pendant light would really bring up the light level.

AWWW, the new babies are so beautiful! Seeing their little sleepy space under the bed, and them playing on the old sheets when you changed the bed, and sharing the bed on your desk, is so sweet. I’m glad that you had a nostalgic moment in the car remembering when you got offered your book deal. It was a significant and awesome moment.❤

I locked my kitten into my bedroom cupboard for more than half a day once and I was crying cause i couldnt find her. Eventually i heard a fant cry from the cupboard. 😂 I was so happy to find her. I love your kitties. So playful. ❤

Why not change the light fixture to a hanging style that is brighter. Not sure how easy it would be to clean a mirror hanging over the stairwell.

Not too early. I decorate for Autumn in September Because I decorate early for Christmas. I have more Christmas decor and it takes this old body a while to get it out. And I want to enjoy it for the whole month of December. Your Christmas decorating may be different this year with your new helpers. My cats and dogs are seniors and I still lose a few things off the tree every year.

It's never too 'early' for Christmas! Love seeing your new babies. I rescued 2 kittens last August after I lost my black cat Frankie in the spring. They've brought me so much joy. My girls are Pippi, a tux and Poppet, a calico. They were bonded when I got them and it's so fun to watch them. Just a word of caution, which you most likely already know, but careful with diffusers as some can be toxic to cats especially little ones. Have a lovely autumn and a Merry Christmas!

My daughter has two house cats and after a year she let them go in the garden with her and luckily they didn’t try to get over the fence they were scared of leaving her side but now 9 yrs later they just walk around the garden when she’s out but won’t go any further than that.

Great Show as always! Another great channel is LIVING THE LIFE YOU LOVE and she has a similar U.K. backyard as yours AND she has 2 Ragdoll kitties and she has them in the yard with her, she has a laundry line she attaches the leashes from, they love it! Thanks again!

The leash idea is a good one. Take them on a lead to where you want them to go. It's what I did when I moved here by a main road. My cat has always been an outdoor cat and, I worried she would go on the road. For several weeks I took her away from the road up to a field. She never goes near the road now.

Definitely keep your kitties inside till at least spring.. your lovely home is big enough 🌄 let them be inside outside cats.. when they are much bigger.. and as you say have them in the garden on nice days in the spring and summer 💕

I keep my cats indoors. Lost one for 2weeks! So fortunately she returned but you never know-too many places for them to get lost or attacked by other woodland animals.Another cat slipped out the crack of the door as son walked in - looked everywhere for 6 hours till dusk! Yes found her. Too frightening so my will be indoor cat. All the best with your kitties Catherine!!💞

Lighting, mirror if you want but I reckon drop in a large open chandelier, hanging pendant, or directional spotlights. Yay on storage. Big thumbs up.

Have you looked at having a light tunnel instead of a skylight, they really do work fantastically to provide light in awkward places.

Have you thought about a Sun Tunnel, planning permission usually ‘no’ (UK) but worth looking into. Love your home and your videos, they are so relaxing, my go too when I wan to chill 😘

Hang that big mirror that you have on one of the walls at the top of the stairs. Install a bigger light fixture, like a crystal chandelier. Give the garland with orange pumpkins to Karen. Girl ain’t got time to be recovering tiny orange pumpkins! 🤣🤣🤣

I have a catio for my cat to go outside. She exits through a cat door bought from Amazon. She goes into a 11 x 13 cage. She lays in the sun and watches birds and other cats. Maybe a spring time build project for you😊. Never too early to decorate, either.

I let my cats out in my backyard. Everyone tells me not to…they’ll get killed, they’ll kill birds, they’ll get fleas, etc., but I’ve had cats my whole life and they are just so much happier and fulfilled when they go outside, and none of the bad things ever happen anyway. My cat did kill a mouse a couple months ago…somehow the world went on. I cut out a fort for them in the Jerusalem Artichokes each summer. They love it.

Do not put a mirror on that big wall in the stair case. Remember mirrors should only reflect something pretty. Have a hanging light put in that space. Maybe a pretty chandelier. And then put mirrors in your cabinet to reflect that pretty light

If they're anything like mine they'll generally always be together, or at least always protect each other. I may have one asleep on the bed with me and hear cat growls outside, and if he ignores it I know its someone else, if he jumps up to rush out to save the day, I know he's off to save his sister. Jokes on the other guys, the white terror is on the way to save the floof!

I love little kitten tummies. They're like grapefruits. 😁 My kitty didn't go out until after she had her little op. I got her in October and Spring feels a good time to let them try slowly 😻😁. She also loves the hot press and will often ask to go in 😻

You can hang a mirror and what about a beautiful chandelier hanging at the top of the stairs? You can also add wall sconces that can be turned on by remotes…..Amazon!! Love your videos and those kittens are soooo sweet!

I have a catio for my Cat Nation. It has a bistro set I can sit at for morning coffee, and cat sun baking. Catios can came with tarps for shelter as well. In addition I have hanging pots which I grow my strawberries and herbs in which keeps them safe from birds etc. I also walk my cat rulers on leads. Walking is not quite the right word, its more like rolling and frequent lying around. Start inside with a harness and lead and see how they go. Good luck!

A mirror in the hallway would be perfect, like a window style mirror and if you put a shoe cabinet in the Hallway and your mirror that is sitting on the floor above it will open up your space.Loving you wee babies ❤❤

Your kitties playing on the bed brought back memories of my darling 15 yr old beautiful persian who used to "come to life" on sheet changing day and thought he was a kitten again. Why not put a light on that piece of wall as you come down the stairs. We are in for a very hot spring and summer in Australia each year getting hotter.

How about a tube light? You put it in the ceiling and it brings in so much light. Put it in the top of the stairs that hallway area. Mirrors on the far stair wall and a beautiful chandelier over the stairs

Our last cat, an orange tabby named Cheddar, chased birds & butterflies. The bell helped immensely. The black cat we have now doesn't bother much. In 7 years she has only brought us one bird.😭🐈‍⬛🐦

The glowing wreath is gorgeous. Beautiful Christmas decor. Getting your kittens used to nail clipping can't happen too soon. 🐾🐾 My sister's 3 adopted cats, have scratched the lining under the beds and sofas. Baskets are scratching posts! And yes they have scratching posts, toys and outside time in an enclosed patio.. They are fed 2x a day but want to eat all the time. No food can be left out or pantry door open. The vet reprimanded my sister because the older cat was overweight and was at risk of diabetes. She had 2 previous cats that did none of that! Mirrors in pretty frames of different sizes mixed with art/pictures down the stairway and a beautiful light fixture?

At the top of the stairs could you put a bench seat with storage it is always nice to have somewhere to drop stuff before you put it away then you can put a mirror above it

I still have bulbs to plant not sure if the time is up once they’ve had all their injections they should be ok for outside I know what you mean when I had my kittens they were already used to outside had to try and bribe them to come back indoors not so much in the winter they liked their warmth on the end of my bed

I say embrace the gloom and make the hallway feel like a historic manor or cosy like a thatch cottage. Also I am loving our house cats, I love that they have no fear and are super loving. My previous kitties had all been outdoor cats and I felt like they never fully chilled. Any bang of clatter in the house and they were immediately alert. My current babies, once they asleep they are dead to the world 😂

The mirror sounds like a great idea to brighten the stairway. Another opportunity for a mirror would be the seasonal storage cabinet. Rustoleum makes a mirror effect spray paint; it turns any piece of glass into a mirror. I was impressed with it.
