You know hayliv, i saw so many reno videos that show impossible to Achieve $50k-100k perfection and beauty for commoners with a tight budget like me. those videos were enjoyable as they were depressing because it sets too high a bar that's difficult to achieve. Your no-fuss simplicity in house reno thats practical , down to earth and achievable for simple ppl is really refreshing and exquisitely palatable. Realised now that i dont ever want to see those expensive renos that do not serve the budget nor the paractical realities of hdb living of the regular citizen here. Thank you and keep uploading more of such stuff pls.

Nice , simple n cosy home. Love the flowers on your dresser table socks. The under bed storage is good but drawers may be more accessible,depending on what is to be stored I saw both and found the drawer storage divan at King's Furnishing. Its really useful.

I used an embossing label maker (?) I got from Taobao for $8, but there are very similar ones from shopee too! There’s a short snippet of me using it in my rehoming ingredients vid if you’re int. I think it shd be waterproof, but I find that the adhesive is not strong enough tho :( I use force/add double-sided tape to make stick better if needed 😊 item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=566960148878

~57K (37K reno + 20K FFE); yeah hacked a half wall for the kitchen. Thanks, we try to keep our surfaces as empty as we can :) No carpentry in living room mainly because we wanted to keep it clutter-free, and partly because of the $ savings!

Hi Elvi! We didn't do false ceiling in the living room; our contractors rewired the location of the lighting/electrical point to the location we wanted 🤔 So we could conceal the wiring inside the ceiling

hello! Not sure if it's still helpful for you- We spent ~37k incl electrical, carpentry, tiling etc and excl furniture, fittings and appliances, but this was pre-COVID times. We had an ID but sadly he wasn't very helpful at that time haha. Hope your reno went/goes well!

Ah, yes got fingerprints- easy to clean but we don’t do it frequently because we open/close the DB box daily, so no point 😅 Not the best, but for us the convenience > fingerprints cos more practical :)

Got a plastic bag dispenser after seeing it in this video, one of my favourite purchases for our home. For the double soap dispenser in the kitchen, what volume does each container store? Is it the same as the usual refill packs that are sold at fairprice? 2 years on, would you still recommend it?

Hey Jaya, thanks so much for your sweet comment 😊 In case this is still relevant for you- each container can hold more than 225ml (dettol hand wash refill pack size), so Im guessing around 300ml. However we've to split our dishwashing refills (500-600ml) as it's not sufficient. It drips occasionally but it's not an issue for us, and yes, I'll still recommend it :)

@@jayashrishobna ah I see! Overall I think refilling wasn't as cumbersome for me as I thought, though not sure if this particular one can hold the soap properly if you decide to dilute it. Hope you'll find a solution that works for you soon (and congrats on having your own home!!)

You're really funny! Hahaha, may I ask which built in oven you guys got? And what type of kitchen back splash is that? Also, is the toilet floor tiled? They look like the vinyl from the rest of your house.

Thank you!! Info here: - Built-in oven: Electrolux EOB2400AOX; not recommended, takes super long to preheat. Bosch’s entry level one might be better - Backsplash: Kompactplus, same as our kitchen counter top - Toilet floor: Yes overlaid tiles for all floors/walls - Rest of the house: Looks like vinyl, but it’s actually tiles too! Different tiles from common toilet floor Hope this helps 😁

@@cindychang9117 (tested and reviewed and failed 🤣) yes it’s sturdy! However the screws used were pretty large and it was difficult finding a suitable drill bits for these. The item did come with some minor dents / scratches at the side but yea had to overlook / live with it 😂
