Lanier's Rex Boy - It was an honor to see him go at Lester's Hughes (Mountain Man's) place. He never made a bad move the whole time. One of the greats without a doubt. You mentioned all the dogs in the area but one GEORGES Triple Ott Red who some say was a belly brother to Chavis's Yellow John. The Redboy dog's are the most consistent family of game dogs to the present time. Retired from the dog world. Only have one dog left that is heavy off of Cottingham's Redman that is just a family pet!
@@richardgarciaschoolboy7746 I was told by Triple Ott Red's owner. He got the blind dog name because he was rolled into a bitch on a challenge impromptu. The roll started in the day and lasted into the night. Triple Ott Red was searching in the dark for the bitch who eventually curred. To complete the roll two cars got face to face between the dogs and turned on their head lights. His best son was McClain's Champion Lucifer. Saw Lucifer's last match went uphill 15 lbs and ended up with him losing dead game. Never forgot this dog since he had clear green eyes. Lucifer got loose and killed his father in a kennel accident. Triple Ott Red was found strung out on the chain. It was so fiercely competitive in North Carolina. No one ever cared about the pedigrees. It was all about the dogs. It is all now history. The people in North Carolina were very tough, and it showed in their dogs.
@socratesXLIX Yep there was a great story written about him and his gameness, which that blood was known for. I mentioned Lucifer and Big Foot,I believe his name was,in a podcast and in my group. It was one of the greatest disparities in weight I ever heard of butno quit in him.
@@richardgarciaschoolboy7746 Big Head was rolled into Lucifer on a very hot North Carolina day. Big Head was not able to scratch back since he had heat exhaustion or stroke. The owner of Big Head was told his dog was a cur which set the stage for the match. Big Head ended up winning since the match took place on a very early cold morning day. Experienced old dog man beat young cocky dog man every time. Experience dog man hand walked that dog for hours on the train track and put hell of wind into his dog. That old man did that every day and also worked ten to twelve hours at a steel mill - hard as nails. Some of the people are tougher than the dogs.
That 95 to early 2000s you seen the best dogs when lots of breedings started throwing super high consistency in litters. You had lots dogs with nothing but champions in them.
@@erikmurray3661 All I can say is it could be true. The Carolinas is not only the home of the Red Boy dogs but also the home of OFRN. But,using DNA as a marker is limited since there is no DNA on original OFRN dogs or any dogs to compare DNA to.
Great video as usual Mr. Garcia. I would use it the same way as you would. As a out. That 1/4 makes a big difference. Jeep/ Rascal was good. But when add that Red boy and or Medlins outlaw blood...💥💥💥
Thank you. Yessir. Start off with half Red Boy and eventually make it a quarter. I did the same with Eli and kept Honeybunch as the main source of my dogs through Jeep and Rascal Jr
Really interesting that you described these dogs as being more “wild” or “primal.” I have a descendant of these dogs and when I first got her as a pup immediately noticed that she didn’t act like your normal pitbull. She didn’t care for people or me at all. She didn’t really care to be pet or loved on by people. As a puppy she even smelled more like a wild boar or possum no matter how often your bathed her.

@@richardgarciaschoolboy7746 Hey school Boy what's happening!; That cottingham is pretty good 👍! Aye what happened to the Wallace Bloodline is their any of it left! Or was it all terminated!.
@40 street black I'm doing well thank you. Hope you're good. Cottingham was good stuff. I don't think there's much Wallace stuff around if any at all since he had his dogs destroyed upon his death
School Boy, what red red nose lines are in the Carolina’s. I heard from different sources that Redboy was Hemphill. I also heard he was Down from Ross’s Red Devil via Wises Maximillion. Are those dogs the red dogs out of the Carolina’s or is it a different red red nose strain,
No those maximillion dogs haven't seen any in the Carolinas. In NC people where getting the REDBOY dogs from REDBOY himself or off offspring I know Wise used the REDBOY blood in his program
Mostly Hemphill dogs and dogs bred down from Lightner. Many think Red Boy was a Hemphill dog or bred down from Maximilian or Red Devil. Those are the ones as far as I know.
St Benedict kennels had a lot of different blood lines they delt with I myself purchased a pup of of their ch crock stuff , Rufus, Alligator, Midnight Cowboy x But that was in the 90,s I haven’t heard anything from them since maybe early 2000,s

Never seen a Redboy dog I’d consider a match dog, although I know people with match dogs that got beat by stuff off Hunter Red, but I wasn’t there to see it. I guess nothings really that good without crosses.
@@edholder5958 I didn’t say good dog, I specifically said matchdog. If I seen a crawling game dog, I’d do some research on the consistency of that family and experiment with that gene pool. We use to say, “leave your game dogs at home, because no one’s going to pay you to watch him get killed and dog food ain’t cheap”!
@travis gross Gotcha. I don't know if it's the same stuff but Medlin's Outlaw would be the most popular dog he had. If he's in your dog's ped it's probably that.
@dennisoliver6147 Jeep,Jocko,Eli. Same crosses that were already made. But if there's something you like, try it and see how it works. Red Boy crosses with most anything.
When you saw a red man after his last he had a custom leather bib it fit over his head between his legs and under his back I'm sorry did I say legs he did not have two front legs he was a house pet and Gloria Ann Durant took care of him like a child they were great people rest in peace the cottingham and Frank Cochran AKA country boy or tuggie Rock the House macon
@Paul People will often speak of Boomer dogs without specifying. For the longest time I thought they were always talking about Sami the Arab's as being a strain of Redboy dogs with mouth, and ability etc.
REDMAN WASNT A CHAMPION HE LOST GOING FOR CH! THE GUY THAT HAD HIM AT THE TIME DID A BAD KEEP ON HIM AND HE LEFT HIM DOWN TO GET BROKE UP AND HE ENDED UP QUITING
