Yes, this is my mad attempt to thoughtfully summarize over five thousand years of history into just over forty-five minutes. It is a fool's errand, and I knew it; I just tried to say too much too quickly. The members of the History Club really were gracious and patient with me as I just went on-and-on. Thank you all!

B. "The West" (Christian Western European Nations): Occident- From the Latin "Fall" (The West/Europe) 1. A Religion of Individual Salvation 2. GOD: This culture is grounded in a religious faith that is clearly 'evangelistic" (interested in encouraging the faith to spread). 3. GLORY: This culture is inspired by stories of individual heroism, accomplishment, and risk-taking,... encouraging people to aggressively pursue success. 4. GOLD: This culture views wealth as a personal reward for individual or family achievement, to be spent at the individual's discretion (even on conveniences or luxuries). . IV.
