And no one talks about the fact that he hit over 300 in the series and ALMOST hit a HR the pitch before his famous single. He was totally dialed in that whole series.

Pirates should sign both right now. Sid can play 3B and we can trade Moran and Smiley can be the 5th starter. If Smiley can keep the ERA under 9.00 then that is an improvement over what we have. Go Bucs!

A better throw would have gotten Bream easily. The throw was 6-8 feet up the first baseline.

as a Pittsburgher myself, I always loved that little fact also, all our teams are black and gold baby!, And for a big city with only a pop. of about 350k, we're one heck of a sports town, not only for our hometown teams, but any sport in general, especially lingerie football!!!!

The catcher was in the wrong position, it had nothing to do with the throw.

Are you a troll or just an idiot? I suppose if LaValliere had 15 foot long arms then he might have been able to cover the plate. Bond's throw was weak and way off line. How old were you then? Did you actually see the play live?
