I think he has flown the coop and his parents are misdirecting the police force. He is probably somewhere that does not have an extradition treaty with the US. You are looking great Cory, you come so far since I watched your first videos within a week of starting the PCT you have inspired me to walk more, to lose weight. I am down 67 lbs since April 2020.

I agree 100%. Being former military, living in Florida, and having hiked all of the Florida Trail; Those swampy areas are not survivable long term especially in the wet/hurricane season (which it is now). That being said, there are tons of places he could hide; from the abandoned homes, to out among the "resident campers" of Osceola, to some of the more remote trails this time of year. It has been noted that he apparently spent 3 months on the AT at one point and that makes people think his familiarity could cause him to return there (personally I would think the less trafficked Benton Mackaye or Pinhoti Trail would be more likely). Where ever he is though, I'm certain everyone will keep their eyes open for him. When watching any of the videos of him and wondering if he may change his appearance or hide behind a Covid mask, make sure to note the tattoos on his right hand...like a line drawing of mountains on the edge of the palm and a feather or ivy design around the middle finger...bit harder to hide those.

My understanding is that the area has has pretty heavy rains and is flooded. You would need a water filter and food. That assumes that both Brian and his parents both communicated his destination accurately. I seriously doubt he went where he said he was going. I agree that he’s either hiding or he may have hurt himself.

Brian's Parents: "Brian went into the swamps" Brian: "Mexico here I come!" No way he's sticking around. Definitely getting help from family. Not sure it's our job to make videos on something we know little about but I think I know where this is coming from with you. You're a good, soft-hearted guy with the best intentions - from everything I've watched. So that people understand where this comment is coming from; As someone who has had a family tragedy, and then had to experience other people jumping in on the tragedy when they didn't know the family member, had never interacted with the family member, yet somehow felt they could speak about everything ... We didn't need the speculation, the judgment, or the feeling of people using the tragedy for attention. That was incredibly painful for us. - I understand people need to remain aware that the guy is on the run. I get it. I understand this was a girl from our outdoor community. Just please be aware of how new the pain of losing her is, and the potential for her family to feel much like ours did. This post isn't personal; I really admire your new direction in life.... this is just to put out there that some things may need a bit more time before the family has to see things popping up online about their loved one. - Maybe they appreciate it, I don't know. I can't speak for them. Please understand I am only speaking from my experiences. Hopefully, your followers will understand this as well; I debated even posting this, but I felt it needed to be put out there. - Happy Trail y'all.

Based on your video headline. Sure. Except he wasn’t there. That scenario was weird/wrong as it evolved. For that family to not only protect a murderer, but then to endanger rescue crews in that area now becomes evil in some desperate attempt to protect the son murderer. I’m writing this without looking at other comments first. My opinion.

As much as people rarely blame parents for the really bad apples, whether such blame is justified or not, it's sad that anyone, including parents, protect violent perpetrators. This is a key element in crime culture which in some ways is on the rise. Those who harbor criminal scumbags are themselves a kind of criminal scumbag.

Agree. I don't think he is in the reserve. According to The New York Post, he "bragged" about "only having a large pack of either cheese or peanut butter crackers to sustain him" as he spent six weeks in the woods. The question here is, "Then what"? -- Even if he could survive in that swamp for six weeks, it's unlikely that people would just forget about the whole thing after that, to say nothing that he has become one of the most wanted in the country. He has to come out eventually. So if it were me, I wouldn't live in some swamp. I'd pack up and go far, far away to a place where I have a relatively normal life. Let's not forget that his parents are pretty rich.

I just don't think he is in the preserve, I think his family whisked him to a place to hide out...they TOOK a trip with HIM in the truck camper...I feel either he is hold up in another property they have access to or they put him on a plane. IF he was hiking he would have had to resupply by now...so he is somewhere where he has access to supplies already laid in.

If he’s somewhere in Myakka State Park or on the reserve south of it I think he could survive off the land for a while if he knew how to. A lot of the area is dry prairie and pine flatwood. At some point he’d be found though. There’s no way he couldn’t leave evidence while an active search is underway.

I think his parents know what happened and they likely know where he is, or at least where he was headed. And I think that they told the police a lie to keep them off his trail. I honestly don't think he's alive. He's a coward, and could have taken the coward's way out, rather than face the consequences. I hope I'm wrong and that he'll be found and brought to justice, but I dunno. Karma's a bitch. Either way, he'll get what's coming to him.
@djg5950

I think he committed suicide, too and police and FBI are looking for a dead body. Only thing I disagree with I don't think his parents know where he is or helped him. I think he lied to them that he was ok and would return home. He left 3 days after Gabby was reported missing by her parents and before her body was found and it was confirmed that she was murdered. I find it unfathomable that any parent would let a child (who knows he committed a murder) walk off into the wilderness if they knew he was guilty of a serious crime. I'd do everything in my power to convince them that life in prison would be much better than suicide if only for my own selfish reasons.

I have never believed BL is in that swamp. I think it's a deliberate red herring his parents devised to buy him escape time. The parents and BL went on a "camping trip" with a new camper top on a truck. Only the parents came back. Supposedly BL drove his mustang to the Reserve. The parents "found it", left a note of concern, then 3 days later, picked it up and drove it back home. Really? Think about that. They say they were worried he'd kill himself yet...they removed the car that he could have used to drive home?? So I guess they knew BL wouldn't be using that car to go home. He's probably in Mexico by now. He's had a looong time to disappear thanks to his parents. I hope his face is plastered everywhere along the states towards Mexico and at the border. And I hope more is done for other missing persons.

I have been posting this for days now on all the news pages covering this. As an AT hiker in 2019 and having hiked in the Glacier NP, and all over the parks in Utah, there is no way he is in that swamp for going on 10 days now. You can't pitch a tent in standing water. So he would need a higher ground. Search those areas and search at night with a thermal camera. IDK why no one in the police dept has even this basic concept but so far they don't. Also he would need to be hunting food and cooking it since at best he could have carried 7 days with him. So be on the look out for smoke as it could be a campfire. Again a campfire would give off heat and visible with thermal imaging. I'm with you that he is not in the swamp. That was all a red herring to throw off the police. And so far the police are too stupid or too stubborn to see it.

Do we know that he has the IQ and personal discipline to pull it off? Those kind of people exist, but they are a small minority. The vast majority of Americans live intensely lacodaisical non-situationally aware lives. Without substantial assistance, including money and a safe harbor, it's extremely easy to slip up. I'm living semi-nomadically myself and while I blend in pretty well, it would be way different if the law was actually looking out for me or even if I didn't have a completely blank/clean criminal record. If I were to use motor vehicles (a rare thing for me these days) the risk would actually go way up as well. If I was looking to hide in plain sight, #1 I would have to get well away from anywhere that people might be looking, and #2 it would have to be some place I had some familiarity with or at least someplace with a friendly contact. #3 Small towns or even wilderness would be no good (New people can't help but stand out in such places) It does however make a person wonder who is behind some of the masks that we see too often these days.

Doubtful he is in the swamps still, but in the Appalachian/blue ridge, very likely. With basic skill you could live indefinitely off the grid out there while avoiding major trails. The seclusion would be the killer. Especially since northern GA is the south end of the Appalachians, it's very likely

Cory, I totally agree, it is highly unlikely Brian even went into the swamps. He is very likely being aided, and it is highly likely he played some role in Gabby's death. However having said that, Brian has only been charged with Debit card fraud. Sadly, all the authorities have is a homicide and a person of interest. They must prove he played a role in her death. This may not be so easy. We know it has been ruled a homicide, however we (the public) do not know cause of death. If the instrument of death was left behind with Brian's fingerprints on it, or if he confesses, or if there was a whiteness, that's one thing, and he would have been charged. They may not have any evidence he committed a crime. Because of their intimate relation most transfer evidence (hair, blood, saliva, semen, DNA) could be explained. For better or worse, in this country we are presumed innocent until proven guilty. As far as prison. I would rather starve to death in the wilderness that be gang raped every day in prison. My money is on suicide. They'll probably find him hanging from a tree somewhere. In any event, good job Cory in posting this. This really hits home. I only live a few minutes from Gabby's house. Will be burning a candle for her tonight. Prayers and God's love to her family.

My thoughts, too. We'll find out if he is captured alive. I don't think the parents had any clue that he killed her and then ran off. Big surprise to the heart broken parents when they are caught or commit suicide to avoid prosecution. AKA: Coward.

Probably not in relation to life 50 years ago, but these days sadly he's like a one eyed man in the land of the blind. People his age and younger often claim to be outdoor experts based on the most touristy justifications. Many of them haven't so much as built a single campfire or practiced any kind of field hygeine or the most simple bushcraft skills. So I may be a little on the fence myself about calling him an expert, but I would put him in the top 10% or better of those who go out and do the hike and camping thing. If you've seen who is actually getting outdoors these days, you might agree. The old school Jeremiah Johnson types are maybe one in a million anymore and they aren't likely to have monetized RU-vid channels.
