Deidara would have spent like 2 hours talking about art and how he trained his eyes to be better than Itachi's while also blowing himself up during the fight...all of this while Itachi would have been just chilling on a cave or a house waiting for Deidara to shut up or something.

Deidara was actually one of my favorites in the series. He had entertaining fights and a interesting personality. His jutsu is also very unique.

Deidara is one of the most underrated characters he soloed and captured a couple tailed beasts, his battle iq is among the highest and with prep i feel like he would have a great chance. Nothing is impossible.

Deidara at least has a wincon. 1000x better than people who say BASE Jiraiya beats Itachi

C4 is an interesting wincon. If, as you say, Itachi underestimates Deidara and doesn‘t go all out immediately, C4 is something he would be unable to deal with. Then again, no one without lightning release could live against that move

It seems like Deidara's canon strategy for tackling Itachi was to wait forever to get around to fighting him, which is honestly probably his best chance. That illness is gonna take Itachi down eventually and then Deidara can tweet about how happy he is about it. Or we can find out if Deidara's second eye stops a Tsukuyomi or whether C4 jet fuel can melt Susano'o steel beams.

The Yata Mirror actually morphed around the Susanoo when Orochimaru charged at it, it might be able to provide better coverage against the C0, and what little gets "around" it might only be able to eat through the Susanoo before dissipating, leaving Itachi safe. Itachi also likely has access to Izanagi as he also does with Izanami, which would let him avoid C4 if need be.

I think Susaano will not protect aganist C4 but also if it offers protection from it... it will still lose aganist it in the long run... Susano will only offer a surface for the C4 to deposit on... and from that moment it will force Itachi to keep the susano covered in explosive to avoid the explosive to reach him... and the effort for Itachi to keep the Susano out is greater than Deidara's effort... in the long run Itachi will be either chakraless and blind from this strategy

I think kakuzu with his life and fight experience is a great power against itachi,because he was still alive after narutos rassen shuriken,that means he will be able to stand against most of jutsus and with his hearts against genjutsu.Kakuzu was very self confidence,with knowledges about itachis abilitys he will be able together with deidara to defeat very strong,but not healthy itachi. Susano,amaterasu and tsukuyomi is a very limited in time and need too much chakra. But maybe flying konan will be even better if she will be ready,paper is good to protect from genjutsu.

Let's be honest here. Itachi was actively holding back against Sasuke. He was certainly "trying" during the fight, but in the same way Beerus was "trying" against SSG Goku. Their genjutsu abilities are stated several times to be leagues apart, and this is in relation to a stronger Sasuke. Itachi probably just has Deidara eat his own C4 without even realizing it. Keep in mind also that even Sasuke was holding back against Deidara so the idea that Itachi is having any trouble is just silly. The only way Itachi is ever in any trouble is if he's not taking the fight seriously at all while Deidara uses C4 as an opening attack. Even then, Itachi would likely just see the micro bombs and avoid them

There are Vicrory Conditions for him. I dont think Itachi can block C0, or negate C4, and Itachi does not have any powerfull Jutsu for flying Oponets. So Deidara isnt helpless. That said, I just cant see him winning. A Battle isnt just vomiting your strongest Technics out, one by one. Itachi probably defeats him, before he can use any of his Trumpcards, or create so much pressure , he makes a mistake. I wonder if Susanoo is able to filter out the Clay Bombs, if you stand inside him, while the C4 spreats? And Amaterasu sould be able to catch a Body easily, whitout Deidara preparing a Body Double beforehand.

It's a pretty interesting theory, but I want to add that Itachi may well impose genjutsu on an opponent without eye contact. As he did with Naruto or with his partners from the Anbu. Well, there was a slightly different case that Itachi put genjutsu on them when they first met and activated it when they tried to eliminate him. I also want to add that Itachi has a pretty powerful long-range attack - Yasaka Magatama, which he used on Chibaku Tensei.

The fact that people think Itachi hasn’t copied lightning release with his Sharinagn and wouldn’t use it to counter Deidara’s clay is kinda funny to me. Just because it’s not his affinity doesn’t mean he can’t use them. Kakashi and even non-Sharingan users like Hiruzen can literally use all five elemental jutsu. They’re just not as potent as a natural affinity-user. Deidara does not beat Itachi in any realistic scenario unless you nerf Itachi. Either way, Izanami wins this worst case scenario. It’s not an ocular jutsu so even Deidara’s specially trained eye cannot avoid it. Itachi’s Yasaka no Magata is a range attacked that he used to help destroy the Chibaku Tensei Orb while it was in the sky. That jutsu can easily reach Deidara on his bird

Not even light can pass through Susano without user's permission. We saw that during Madara's Infinite Tsukuyomi. So Itachi would have stopped that chakra cloud

Since Itachi has a sharigan maybe he could use some random lightning style jutsu he copied from a random lightning style user. Video suggestion: why puppets appear to be so much weaker than it was supposed/told to be? Specially in durability, just look at sasori, for a guy supposedly obsessed with lasting forever and eternal perfection, everything he does is as durable as the average white zetsu, and to me that seems to be an inconsistency in the story

Itachi not having lightning release is like saying the Sharingan doesn't exist. He's already faced Kakashi and Sasuke who both use lightning release, he can use copied jutsu and if it is a matter of simple deduction, Itachi being the genius he is would likely have thought up using lightning to defuse the bombs if that was something he felt was necessary.

So I think that itachi's genjutsu ability far exceeds deidera's training or whatever because deidera's claim to victory against itachi being a certain possibility because he trained his eye and got the mechanical upgrades to counter itachi but itachi doesn't have to make eye contact with deidera to place him under genjutsu. Itachi can more than likely place Deidera under a strong enough genjutsu like he did pointing at Naruto who was actively attempting to not meet itachi's gaze. Once the initial genjutsu is established it would be fairly simple to then place him under tsukiyomi since deidera would be unaware he was under a genjutsu already cause he thinks eye contact is the only avenue for itachi to invade and ultimately control his mind/senses and possible route to victory. It'd be just like their first fight since deidera wouldn't have anyone their to snap him out of it since it was stated that you can't break free from itachi's jutsu by simply disrupting your own Chakra but you need a second or even a third person to disrupt your Chakra with their own

Itachi is very level headed. Sasuke saw C4 coming as a giant chakra cloud Itachi's analytical mind is second to none so he probably would've found a way to counter it. Prehaps burning the nano particles with fire/Amaterasu or blowing them away with wind style (yes he has that). C0 (if Deidara could get it off) is a different story. Itachi might have a reverse summon ready and his Susanoo's Yata mirror literally is a perfect counter. Also, Deidara has no chance against Tsukuyomi or Amatarasu. Even if Deidara resisted Tsukuyomi, Itachi would probably trick him like Sasuke did with Danzo.

Deidara can win on paper, especially against sick/dying Itachi, but if the fight happened in the manga Itachi would still win due to the author being a Uchiha stan.

Itachi could just use Amaterasu to defeat c4. If he can see it. He can burn it. Being able to see C4 is a huge advantage (kinda like limbo). The nano explosives are probably not durable they are just hard to see and hit. If itachi keeps his distance he could simply destroy them with fire style and exploding kuni. Sasuke didn't have the option because his arm was captured.

Susanoo isn't infinite defense, he'd be wittled down, also itachi's doesn't have legs so he is very vulnerable from attacks that morph the ground or come from under the ground, since his movement speed in susanoo is walking speed essentially.

No idea what sort of fanfic you were watching/reading to claim Itachi beat Nagato in a minute but it definitely wasn't Naruto. Are you just making these outrageous statements to have people call you out for attention? Nagato was fighting against Naruto with 9 tails cloak, Killer Bee who is a perfect jinjuriki with Samehada, and a fully powered Edo Itachi (who wasn't suffering from MS abuse or sickness). After Itachi used kotoamatsukami and the fight turned into a 1v3, Nagato was still as weakened as he was at the start of the fight. Itachi literally had to carry him into the battlefield cause Nagato couldn't even walk on his own. Nagato was also controlled by Kabuto who didn't know the extent of his abilities so couldn't utilize him fully and when he wasn't controlled, Nagato would tell them what he was about to do and how to beat him, plus he wouldn't even attack in earnest and was approaching combat like the 2nd Mizukage. With all that, it still took all of their strongest abilities to barely win. As for fighting Kabuto, yeah Itachi was holding back enough not to kill him but also had EMS Sasuke to help who was at this point one of the strongest characters in the show plus he was immortal with infinite chakra/stamina so yeah, trying not to kill Kabuto was a slight disadvantage to him but I'd rather be in that position than Kabuto's, who odds were completely stacked against. In a proper fight between Itachi and Deidara, realistically the odds of Itachi winning are 40% at best. At that point in the story, Sasuke and Itachi are relative in terms of power with Itachi being stronger due to MS being broken af but without it, Sasuke has a small edge when it comes to speed, strength, versatility and jutsu power. The only reason Sasuke won against Deidara was because his arsenal was practically tailored to counter him + he received plot armour (no way he should have survived due to a summon), in contrast, Deidara's arsenal is literally made for fighting Itachi. This is also not taking into account Itachi's illness which gives Deidara a massive edge. All in all Deidara has around 15 wincon's that Itachi has to counter whereas the only wincons Itachi has hinge on Deidara making a mistake. People really need to get off that Uchiha d. A healthy Itachi? Sure I can absolutely see him winning. Edo Itachi is guaranteed to win, but if we're talking about their versions from the period Sasuke was looking for Itachi then Deidara wins.

It depends if we think that the nanomachines, son can get through the Susanoo's shield. If so, and it's really Itachi and not a crow clone (or an explosive one), then yeah Itachi loses. But how far does this go? Would bullets work on the Yata Mirror? Would a very thin but massive garrote wire? No, it has physical mass, the only way for it to work would be to get underneath the Susanoo

I think this depends on the context. Arena setup (both ready mid distance) . Itachi wins 100%. War setup (both coming from very far, aware of each other. Deidara wins 90% of the time. Something people won't account for in this matchup is Chapter 49, it is blatantly stated by Orochimaru that Sasuke's Sharingan was stronger than Itachi's. The Orochimaru that got mollywhopped by A healthier and less blind Itachi mind you. The Orochimaru that experimented on Shin and Danzo, A credible source. Not to mention Itachi was near blind. Not saying Deidara wins because of this. When Itachi takes opponents seriously, he doesn't LET them fight. His C4 wouldn't work. It takes too long. I don't see any reason Itachi wouldn't just seal it with the Totsuka Blade. If he REALLY took this fight seriously, Izanami would probably be extremely effective on Deidara.

If deidara corners Itachi, and itachi realizes that Deidara is hellbent on killing him, then Itachi would just put Deidara under a continuous round of strong genjutsu (one after another) or Infinite Tsukuyomi, and torture him there while studying deidara's jutsus that deidara would use under infinite tsukuyomi, until deidara passes out. So Itachi wins in 5 seconds :)

If Deidara couldn't beat Hebi Sasuke he definitely can't beat Itachi. Itachi doesn't need Lightning Style. Deidara wouldn't even survive long enough to use C4. Amaterasu is undodgable for Deidara and it ends the fight on the spot. Itachi also has a bunch of different jutsu that can trick Deidara into being caught by Genjutsu or getting hit with Totsuka Blade.

You mention the susano lets air in, I would say this is for story purposes as LIGHT CANNOT pass through it as seen via infinite tsukuyomi, SO in short LIght Cant pass through it but air can.... also Itachi Does have izanagi as a last resort theoretically able to use it once while still succeeding in his plan to give his "eye" to sasuke
