I mean, just the fact that Lester plans the FIB attack in story mode already kinda debunks this whole thing It's always interesting to think how Lester has so much power and connections tho

He is a elite hacker 💀It’s very common sense that it’s suggested he’s very computer smart in the story mode

He explains he's able to get the cops of you by scrambling an APV which basically tells the cops "ignore that guy, prioritize this guy"

This is a terrible theory. As you said, Lester literally helped the IAA numerous times and many of the stuff he helped with was against the FIB. He also pretty much organized the entire FIB raid, which was all about getting into their server room and wiping data. Lester could of easily wiped it himself if he worked there. Steve & Davey also had no clue who Lester really was. Steve 100% would of known who Lester was if he worked alongside him. Lester has also said multiple times that he despises the FIB. There is absolutely no way he would of worked for them all these years, willing helping people setup scores that includes hundreds of police and FIB casualties without EVER being caught or suspected of anything. As a side note, Lester is 1000000% an elite hacker. This has been stated so many times during story, and it's kind of obvious that he is. Overall, absolutely nothing suggests that he would work with the FIB, all he does is occasionally work alongside the IAA

Let’s not forget that Lester shot down two military helicopters with an RPG while hanging out of a helicopter

it would be fun that the last update being, all the enemies Lester ever made like the FIB, IAA and Foreign governments getting tipped off by the AI clifford about his location. And we basically have Lester's version of GTA5's ending where Micheal, Franklin, Trevor and Lamar gets rid of their enemies. It could be setup like Heist missions but it would be so much fun if it's like the Short Trip missions where we take a final control of Micheal, Franklin, Trevor...and Lamar(4 online players) to pull one Last favour for Lester to off all his enemies so he can retire.

Very interesting theory. I made a theory myself trying to explain why none of the law enforcement agencies come after the player despite having a load of information on us. This kinda ties nicely and if true would explain a lot of why we’re able to avoid trouble so easily!

Honestly he could have ties with certain organizations and probably corrupted officials. Who knows. As you said in the video on Online he worked with the IAA (Doomsday Heist) for a brief time alongside your online Character.

I think Agent 14 has some kind of dirt on Lester because there would be no other reason why they would know each other, so knowing Lester’s ability to hack and manipulate our player characters to do anything as long as we get paid, Agent 14 wouldn’t throw Lester in prison as long as Lester plays nice with 14.

The theory is already pretty much confirmed false cause it’s very well explained and shown to us throughout storymode and GTA Online that Lester is just an elite hacker In GTA Online it’s made a bit obvious that he’s actually just a criminal doing these heists for the money just as we are, especially during the introduction to the casino heist where Lester initially tells us he doesn’t want to rob the casino because he already has way too much money way more than he knows what to do with so he’s retired, before he ends up coming out of retirement to run the heist for Georgina. Also another obvious point is that if Lester was an FIB agent I think Dave Norton and Steve Haines would be a lot more familiar with him in singleplayer, but in the story i’m pretty sure they just know him as an associate of Michael

The question is: Is GERALD secretly FIB? He does a lot to break up drug activities. He SAYS its to eliminate the opposition, but.... Which brings me to Trevor..... :D

I doubt Lester could be FIB with his actions throughout story mode and online since there's contradictions and shit that doesn't work, unless he's extremely crooked, but the assassination missions with Franklin in story mode do show he hates those sorts of people. They probably had no intent of Lester being anyone except a criminal, but it's interesting to think that his story and intentions go way deeper than just being one, perhaps he does work for a government agency, starting from before (starting as far back as when he meets Michael) or after story mode for his skills and intelligence. Most of, if not all of the targets of both online and story mode, are corrupt or shady in some kind of way, it's just how the GTA world is, perhaps the whole reason for the agency Lester works for exists is to counter this, doing whatever they deem necessary. His illegal actions would go into two categories then, for the agency, and for personal reasons like his assistance for Michael. The first reason would be why the GTAO protagonist and their associates are not in prison or dead (even though there's no death penalty I think the GTAO protagonist's actions go beyond the scope of the law with how it can be so they would have military or government operative squads to kill them for their actions instead of cops thinking more realistically) as they've been shown to be extremely effective when doing the actual good stuff (Doomsday heist, Agent ULP missions, and the recent Cluckin' Bell Raid stuff), and the latter reason would be why Michael Franklin and Trevor would not be dead or in prison as he has personal ties to them (more to Michael but that would still stop him getting them in trouble, plus they all mostly stopped their illicit activities, Franklin does his thing we see in Online, Michael does movies, and I swear it's mentioned Trevor stopped at some point as well, or the three are just not even within his agency's scope as they stopped doing the actual mad shit). Again though, just a theory, and definitely not Rockstar's intentions with him, but a cool thought and my new personal headcanon.

In my humble opinion i guess that Lester works under the IAA because, they use these kind of strategy's and these kind of minds , the people of IAA's know him and he knows them.

I don't think that Lester is working for the FIB, at least before the events of the Doomsday heist. I think part of the reason why it seems he can do so much, is because we are assuming that the FIB and IAA in the GTA universe have the same power as the organizations they are based on in the real world. THe evidence simply shows they don't. For many reasons hinted at in the lore, the powerful criminal syndicates/mob families/gangs/private militias are all on the same approximate power level. It's actaully very much like a classic cyberpunk background without the technological elements, the corporations/criminal groups are more powerful than the government (definately en masse). Think about it, we've seen Merryweather, IAA, FIB, Madrazo, the Duggans, all around the same top level. The other criminal groups just below that, and then below that, a lot of nameless minor groups (That we normally steal supplies, nightclub goods, heist gear, etc from.) We know from the Cluckin' Bell heist that the local police,. are not only involved, but openly, almost casualy, involved with the criminal underworld, and that Effenburger has little to no difficulty betraying them and getting a lot of the same kind of resources. This is because he is not really betraying an actual police force with government backing as he is in our world, he is simply betraying his "gang" working with another "gang." It's the same thing. If the FIB goes after Madrazo, it's not a criminal investigation, it's a gang war. The same way with the group Georgina is from (can't remember which one, I want to say Triads, but I think they are on the other side) and Lester/the main group teaming up to go after the Duggans. So basically, it's a situation where "the cartels are more powerful than the government" which, should not really be a set-up that would be all that unknowable to us. The next bit, I admit, is my own head-cannon, but it makes perfect sense from what I see. No one in the big three/four from story mode ever got (fully) out of the game after the events of ending C (which is the cannon ending at this point) . Lester makes no qualms about the fact that he is going to continue in whati s basically his chosen career and lifestyle at this point. Franklin is most concerning with moving up in the world, and in the GTA background, heading up a criminal organization is the way to do it. By this point in store mode, he's running the Agency which is part of our organization. Trevor is absolutely sure that is going to continue to go around causing chaos and doing whatever the hell he wants, but he is the most open as describing crime as bascially his career, a career he takes seriously and will defend to be people who detract from it. At this point, he may or may not have left and moved on something/somewhere else, but he coudl aslo just have had a falling out with Ron who is still working with our group, and Trevor could very well be either dead or have moved on to blow thigns up elsewhere. (We know from dialog in the Contract that he is still alive and at least still in contact to some degree with Franklin, though the exact extent or where he a based is unknown. Michael is the only one who really seemed to want to actually retire, rumors about the next DLC notwithstanding, and in my opinion is probably in a pleasant semi-retirement, maybe running some thigns quietly in the background. Now that he fixed (at least to a degree) his family life, but even that partialyl accepting that he, Amanda, Tracy, and Jimmy are all just as screwed up as he is, this fits both is character and his motivations from the beginning. But you can't tell me that if someone were threatening a member of the family, he wouldn't pick up the phone call someone (probable Franklin or Lester) and suddenly we've got a payphone hit or we're doing Headhunters or some other activity. The thing is, our character is the same: At this point in the game, no matter how much an individual player might want to full Trevor, dress in a bikini and a mask and go around causing general chaos, that dosen't make them lower-ranking, it makes them/the player/the character, a Trevor-style character. I'm a grinder, so I'm more the Franklin style criminal. (Just with a less posh style, since I dress my character randomly every time) Securiserve, Disruption Logistics, The Open Road, the Arcade, our biker businesses, the nightclub (Tony pretty much states outright that the only way he can run a club in this world is with the help of organized crime.) etc are all fronts. And who would run the finances/covers for those fronts? Lester. Jimmy is employed in some nebulous way at our Arcade. Why? Wasn't he going to get a real job at the end of story mode? Well, he did. In this background, working for a criminal syndicate *is* a normal job. He just decided to go into the family business. To me it seems like the thing is run by a cadre of either three to six powerful crimelords, Lester Crest, Franklin Clinton, and the online protagonist, with likely Michael DeSanta in a leadership role somewhere in the shadows and possibly Trevor Philips as well (or maybe Ron took over his spot in running Blaine County, its' unclear. (Dax may have taken his role type-wise, but does not seem interested in rising any higher in rank than he is, and does not have the same drive for it as the other questgivers. It often looks like there are two "sides" to it. Their side has Merryweather, the Professionals, the Ballas, the Vagos, the Korean mob (don't feel like looking up how to spell it). the bikers (I think they were originally supposed to be the Angels and Death, and making the Lost was a (stupid) change so they could make the (stupid) decision of pointlessly killing Johnny et al off) several "redneck" gangs, and others, including the majority of the local police. Our side has the protagonists, the story-mode characters, the Madrazo cartel, Georgina's group (don't feel like looking it up), the Families, Tony, Yusef, Securiserve, Hao, the Armenian mob (through Simeon, who ironically, almost certainly now works *for* Franklin rather than the other way around) etc. And from what it seems, when the two sides come into conflict, our side just about always wins. Because we own Los Santos. And that is the point of the game.

Also Lester want us to buy the facility, an apartment with our own money and he will live there without any player knowing. I only find out about cause Lester have all that money and still want us to drive a slow ahhh car Better the first apartment heist he'll talk about threatening the player. The casino heist he doesn't care if someone died doing the mission and still going to talk 50% of the money the player stole. There more but I forgot which mission with Lester threatening the player.

Next thing you are going to say is that lester is brad 💀 bro wtf . I know its a theory but it just doesn't make any sense at all for lester working with FIB . He literally plans a heist against FIB just because they want to remove some files from Michaels' life etc. Just play the story mode and you will understand
