Peter Crouch, Chris Stark and Tom Fordyce discuss the art of tackling, including Paul Scholes: bad at tackling or out for revenge every game?
There's the story of a Liverpool team-mate who wouldn't hold back against Crouch on international duty, and why John Obi Mikel was the recipient of the worst tackle he ever made.
In matters off the pitch, there's a tale involving rubber gloves, a mouse and some curtains.

I don't think he's necessarily a bad tackler. He's more of a revenge tackler. You can quite see in most of his horrendous tackles, against Reyes, Deschamps etc that he has absolutely no intention of winning the ball and is doing more to hurt his opponent.

Cruyff had a turn named after him. Scholes had a tackle named after him. The Scholes tackle is that dirty tackle in the first 2 minutes, usually around the centre circle, that aimed to cripple the opposition's star player. 97 yellows and 4 reds. Got away with a lot more because refs were always lenient in the first few minutes.

I've seen Scholes play football and can confirm he is a poor tackler. Don't know why the evidence of your own eyes isn't enough to convince you of this one. He was slow and unfit (for a professional footballer) and let's not get confused that tackling is the same as passing. Plenty of defenders are good tacklers but are horrible at passing (for a professional footballer).
