In 21 season lebron is still missing 2 rings, 2 fmvp, mvp, dpoy, 4 all 1st def, 9 scoring titles, 3 stl titles. That’s literally an entire HOF resume in between them. Why is this even a conversation

I think as the years go by and the league gets younger, the player poll might shift. But I don't think Lebron will ever be universally recognized as the GOAT over Jordan. The greatest irony about LeBron, to me, is that we constantly hear about how "he's a better team player who elevates him teammates," and yet, damn near every time LeBron had to face a super team of players who actually do elevate each other, like the Celtics, Mavs, Spurs, Warriors, Nuggets, he got crushed. He's always been about himself and out for himself, and he's always stacked his teams with players who will boost his own stats, not the other way around.

Individuals possessing a grasp of common sense and an understanding of the significance of context would surely not rank LeBron James among the top two basketball players of all time. There is no rational basis to assert that LeBron is superior to Kobe Bryant. Accolades alone do not equate to greater skill, and Kobe's achievements as a winner and influencer speak for themselves.

It's sad because the kids that want to feel apart of something great by saying LeBron is the GOAT are saying winning isn't _that_ important, accolades (MVPs, FMVPS, DPoY, Scoring titles, etc) aren't _that_ important, stats outside of totals aren't _that_ important. Almost no one playing in the current NBA saw Jordan play realtime. They did not see the whole story, the evolution of MJ from hitting the shot to win an NCAA title, leading the last amateur U.S. basketball team to win Olympic gold, the scoring titles, all the great offensive AND defensive plays and, of course, the flawless 6-0 title runs. They can read about it, hear their elders talk about it, watch videos, review stats. But they cannot holistically know how great Mike was, especially within the context of the sporting landscape he performed in. Meanwhile, not only have they seen Lebron play realtime, they are actually playing with and against him. Many of them will see his greatest as a reflection of them, whatever they accomplish. Therefore, it makes sense that many of the player, especially the very young players, will want to promote and celebrate LeBron, even over Jordan.

I cant understand the logic that accomplishing less in significantly more time is an argument FOR Lebron. For me, the longer he plays without closing the gap in accomplishments puts him further away from MJ, not closer.
