I mean dude you are a joke I didn't notice the machines in the corner until the 5th time I beat ya the rest are just Makoto Ryuji and joker spamming freidyne and ziodyne at ya
@@1Death2Many I kinda count it as a spin-off cuz although it’s a sequel when it comes to story, everything else about the game is different, a full on sequel would be turn based and stuff.
Since most of his skill names are "Justice Slash", i made sure to finish it with all 4 of my party member's showtimes, with Makoto being the last just for that little bit of irony with "FIST OF JUSTICE!"
For real though, switching between all party members and wailing on Konoe while this plays is the most hype experience in a boss fight I've had since the first level of MGR.
Official lyrics: Counter strike Come on, give it your all You've come a long way But let me just say Faking is not enough, so Counter strike Ain't it all worth fighting for, no? Being a device is not what you signed up for Welcome back to your own game show! So many melodies deep inside you Listen Your own rhythm is the one to go for Come on now! Dance your own crazy style on and on as you like Ev'ry time A thin line No limits Only new options (Try to be yourself!) Time to listen to your heart Once again ready to start Can't you see what is inside All alone astray in the night (Acting like you’re right!) It's your turn to get it right Get up now, ready to fight Bring it on, your counter strike Is the only chance you will get (Don’t you dare forget!) Oh never forget to show your true colors Oh never forget to question destiny You can be more than a puppet You'll never be just a doll Can't you feel The rhythm So vivid Yes you are right This is your fight Counter strike Time to be your own hero Counter strike Come on, you've seen it all Nothing more to say Today's a new day So won't you at least try, no? Counter strike Waiting won't fix it for you though Be honest, haven't you learned it the hard way, no? Welcome back to your magic show! So many beautiful dreams inside you Listen You are the one who needs to care for them Dream on now! With your head in the clouds, left and right, up and down Honestly Just break free Maybe there really are wonders? (No more irony!) Time to listen to my heart Oh I'm ready to start I have seen what is inside No more straying through the night (I decide what’s right!) Finally I got it right I am here, ready to fight Bring it on, my counter strike Will burn down ev'ry foe ahead (I want to dream on!) I'll never forget to show my true colors I'll never forget to question destiny I will be more than a puppet I'll never be just a doll I can feel The rhythm So vivid Yes you were right This is my fight Counter strike Time to get up on my feet
@@ekandll I played all main Persona games (so I recognized the singer) but never the spinoffs so I'm glad I could be introduced to this goodness through other means.
There won't be a better theme than Last Surprise ...OK, there won't be a better theme than Life Will Change ...OK, there surely won't be a better theme than Daredevil ...
I'm sure there won't be a better theme than Invitation to Freedom... Okay I'm sure there won't be a better theme than Pull The Trigger... Fine! I'm absolutely there won't be a better theme than Nothing is Promised... Fuck!
@@brandonv6905 p4a was the goat, cant forget mitsuo and namatame fight and rhey fuse card mid battle, unlike p5a where megidolaon looks like a wind breeze
This is honestly competing with One Determination for best Persona song of all time for me. This theme goes SO HARD. And the lyrics apply to both Konoe and Ichinose so well. Such a kickass song
Everyone talking how they spammed Electric skills, while I just used Makoto's Nucelar Fists to beat the shit out of Konoe and fighting the entire 2nd phase using Zenkichi.
Imagine if they introduced a "Zephyrman leitmotif" during the trauma flashback (as in, the actual theme song of the TV show), and this incorporated it somehow.
Ichinose also gets this music, and the lyrics suit her better than Konoe if you ask me. "You can be more than a puppet; you'll never be just a doll." "Doll" is her particular problematic word, since everyone called her that.
I think it's equally fitting; in fact, it may directly reference both of their positions in the story. Where Konoe was mostly just being used in his pivotal role, thinking that it was true justice (where it was just him simply being used by EMMA in such a manner, ergo, a puppet)- where doll specifically refers to Ichinose.
@@daeronxi2804 never ever read the comments if you haven't played the game all the way through! ideally don't listen to the music either, titles in a playlist can spoil things even.
I wouldn't be surprised if the initial idea for this game was to have just an instrumental version play for Konoe's battle, and then the lyric version play directly after Sophia's Awakening. An expansion on what they did with the Shido fight in P5. If that was true, I imagine it didn't work out because the cutscenes themselves didn't really gel well with the timing of the song.
Nothing will ever beat watching Konoe walk out of the wreakage while this begins to play. I got chills. Most badass Persona boss theme dare i say most badass boss theme of all time
@@zozzinator Joker, leader of the "Phantom Thieves of Hearts", has a red and black costume and is armed with a knife and a gun, how much edgier do you want him to be?
6:32 @@michaelbarrett8141 Yep, Handsome Jack, so much. Although Handsome Jack (post-Pre Sequel) was a completely psychopathic villain, at least someone like Konoe is more of a misguided and righteously angry antagonist.
Man, and I though the Shibuya Jail with Daredevil was badass. I´m so glad I purchased the Persona titles on Steam back when Sega made that sale last year. They have continuously blew away my mind.
"I want you to make a even better version of Rivers in the Desert" "For the second phase, sir?" "No for the first." "Wait then what's gonna be the secon-" TIME TO BE YOURSELF
The Akira The Hero fight has to be one of the funnest in the game imo. Firstly, its a two-phase battle in which you first have to destroy his Gundam Suit, and use the battlefield to your advantage all while Rivers in The Desert blasts, and then when you think you're finished Cool Guys walk through explosions and it ends out on one of the few if not *only* human-like enemies in the game(yes I know he's a Shadow but he doesnt transform like the others do), all-in-all, a very fun fight that unlike other Painful Pasts, I would gladly repeat because its just a good ass time with some good ass tunes playing in the background.
@@shinyhunterlo but...even still this is more like the yaldabaoth of the game not rivers in the desert bc rivers is still used for bosses that are important but not final
I’m actually happy that he used it. It will hopefully make this underrated gem of a song gain some popularity. Seriously, this song is so good that I’m surprised it’s not as prominent as songs like Last Surprise and Rivers in the Desert.
i am genuinely proud of my boy max0r for finally using this banger in a video, and i’ve been listening to this looong before that video came out (edited to correct spelling error)
This feels like a culmination of every single boss up to this point, where they were all used as puppets, including, ironically, the man who was doing it in the first place, Akira konoe. But it's also fitting for kuon ichinose, who also uses this theme, she thought she was just a helpless doll who did whatever she was told to do, but the singer in the second half(or in my perspective, Sophia reaching out to ichinose, before ichinose herself starts singing) says that she does have a heart, but hid that due to the trauma she faced, and wanted to live without emotions. This whole song is not just my favorite music piece in general, but also the one that has the best lyrics that fit the story behind it (in my opinion at least)
Hitting a Showtime, ESPECIALLY Yusuke's Showtime, when the chorus kicks in (1:37-2:19) was one of the most unintentionally exciting and anime as fuck moments in this game for me. Like bruh YUSUKE SPRINTING AT HIS ICE AND JUDGEMENT CUTTING IT TO THE MUSIC IS FUCKING WILD I fucking love all of Persona 5 and its OSTs man
Everyone here talking about Konoe but no-one talking about the Joker v Joker, I was disapointed, I wanted to go with every phantom thief versus their Akane version
@FuckOuttaHere yeah the fight was hard but it would be cool to test your skills with each Phantom thief, Maybe like an optional boss. Alternatively they could have given all the PT bosses low healthbars so you could fight them all really fast but they were still a little challenging
Right? I was expecting to switch between all the party members as a 1 v 1 with their counterparts, with Joker being the last one. Would have been a long boss fight, but I think it would have been so cool!
@@pokkenwolf5985 I second this, I was a bit disappointed, too. Although I have to say, fighting Yusuke "Crit-and-Evasion-Machine" Kitagawa would have probably been a nightmare on its own, although fun as heck. (I'm not the only one who finds Yusuke kinda OP, right? I mean, the fact that crits are dependent on agility in this game, and he can basically spam Masukukaja for free ...? I did nothing but all outs in some fights, at least it felt like it, and him getting Knockdown Style just kinda broke some bosses - I have yet to play on merciless, though.)
My favorite part of this song is how it starts in the 2nd person tense and then transitions to 1st person at the end. It makes the lyrics even more fun and interesting. Easily my favorite new song from Strikers!
@@Gilgamesh_Prime I liked Kamoshida and Shido a little more than Alice and Konoe, and Maruki is kind of on a whole nother level. But yeah the in-betweeners were a step up in this game. Haven’t played P4 yet though so can’t speak for that.
Imagine if this song was in "Persona 5 Dancing in Starlight". Main dancer: Zenkichi Hasegawa Dance partners: Ren Amamiya, Sophia, Goro Akechi, Sumire Yoshizawa, Lavenza, Akane Hasegawa Place: Osaka Jail
Honestly, I had to fight Konoe with mainly zenkichi and almost solely zenkichi. He made it personal and by god does a full choreographed fight the between them sound amazing.
Moving away from Scramble's Shido equivalent... Ichinose I'd somehow really equivalent to Maruki in a lot of ways. Both desire humanity to lead their best lives, though I'd feel like they would hate each other in the how. Maruki wants everyone's best lives to quite literally be their best lives, but Ichinose would take issue since it may then include screwing others over. Ichinose wants people to have no desire, and only go on the path they were fated, though Maruki would say that would make people miserable. They're similar, but their approaches are polar opposites, which I find neat. Happy coincidence if true.
A puppet, and a doll. Faced off against the enemy, the Thieves make their stand and declare their freedom to the world. They will not be puppets, or mere dolls, but living beings that make their choices. That very statement shakes the grounds, and breaks away the fog obscuring their true enemy.
im mad that i didnt pay enough attention to the music while fighting and forgot about this masterpiece, and now i cant experience it for the first time again
