I don't usually leave comments on RU-vid videos,I just hit the like button but in this case I want to share my personal experience.I follow Magnus philosophy of counting macros (I used to be a counting calories maniac!)along with workouts i've been doing the last few months from his app and i'm telling you that if you are consistent with this lifestyle you will actually see crazy results! My body is leaner, tonner than ever and muscles are shown in places i didn't even know muscles excisted! It's actually a combination of nutrition and workout and for the first time in my life I'm never hungry and i feel energetic throughout the day! Thank you Magnus!

Hi Amanda! My fitness journey actually started on July 2020.I started with mainly cardio workout (running).I literally burned out, lost 17 kilos in 4-5 months and i was counting my calories like crazy! But I wasn't feeling stronger nor liked my body...it wasn't a well toned body,it was just me in a smaller size.On May 2021 I started strength workouts and read a lot about nutrition and macros and 4 months later I look and feel better than ever! You just have to figure out what works for you in nutrition and workout and be consistent!Magnus's app and nutrition plan worked for me well so I kinda stuck with that.I tried 2 other fitness apps before Playbook but just didn't feel good for me.Enjoy your fitness journey!

Hi Magnus, this is a fantastic and very helpful video! Thanks for the tips. I was having a hard time explaining to a friend why it's not the best approach to only count calories and only eat ready-made junk from the frozen dinner aisle. Your video put all the info into a nice and easy to understand explanation! In 2020 I discovered a type of physical activity that was so much fun, I was able to keep it up every day. I showed up every single day, no breaks, and began to see results - my cardio fitness improved, fat went down, strength developed. But in December I got Covid and was super sick for two weeks, after which I felt "better" (read: I didn't feel like I was going to cough up a lung every day). Months later, when I was considered "cured" I noticed that the same type of workout I did in 2020 was incredibly hard to get through. I felt out of breath and like all the fitness I gained last year went away and I am back to feeling like a potato. However I still haven't quit my very fun workouts and even though they are physically hard , they help with my mental health and keep my mood up. Here are my questions: - Will I ever regain my 2020 level of fitness, will things start to feel good again? How long should recovery from long Covid last and are there any tips to get better sooner? Family members have told me to take days where I don't do anything, but I am afraid that if I break the habit for one day, it will turn into two days, a week and then I'll quit. - How can I structure my nutrition to help my body recover and regain its energy? TL;DR maybe next video could be about workout and nutrition tips for bouncing back after Covid. :) P.S. I absolutely love your way of presenting information, and I am so grateful you share from your rich experience and even include remarks and advice for vegans! I am currently binge-watching all your videos.

Hi Flavi J!I did too have a hard time explaining to a dear friend of mine the same thing! As for the covid...I really feel for you!I am only an expert as long as it comes to myself but from personal experience I think that first of all you should have a rest day (or two) in a week and you should start over the program you used to do with lower intensity and increase it gradually when you feel like it or when your body tells you so.Hope everything works well for you!

Great tips. My favourite morning sandwich is with banana, dried tomatoes in oil and cheese. I do not know it's healthy but is tasty. You can use different types of bread.

Great advice. There's nothing wrong measuring macros with a scale at the beginning. In a week or 2 you get used to the size and won't even need a scale. Loved your comment about not being able to overeat if the macros are right.

In your professional opinion, are there gender differences when it comes to training and nutrition? I don't mean when there are different objectives (gaining muscle versus getting lean) but for example if a man and woman both wanted to get stronger would their nutrition and training be the same?

Calories is what matters to be in a deficit for weight loss. That’s all it is folks, that’s all it is. CALORIES must be counted.

Thank you very much for the inspirational approach to a healthy way of eating without counting all day. What does "a fist full" look like? Is it the amount comparable to the size of your fist or the amount you could grab and hold it in your fist? Thank you for your help!

Great video, Magnus. I'm a hardgainer, and I wanted to know if focusing more on macros rather than a specific number of calories is still good advice for someone like me who is trying to gain weight. My issue for a while has been either meeting my daily Macro goal and not having enough calories, or meeting my calorie goal but going over my Macro limit (on carbs, especially). Thanks!

It's frankly mindblowing how anti-segway Magnus seems to be regarding segways towards his own ads. It's almost like Tyler Durden 'edited' that part.

As a T1 diabetic it is mandatory for me to count my carbohydrate intake - I've been diabetic for nearly 15 years now _(got diagnosed in my early teens)_ and honestly, it only takes a few days/weeks to know the food's composition by heart. More than just carbs, I've also eventually started to memorize the other macros such as Fats and Proteins. Some tips - 1. Start with a scale and measure _everything_ 2. Shop wisely - read the nutrition label and make smart choices 3. Eventually, you'll know your products, and you'll know your foods. 4. You'll be less and less dependant on reading labels and/or measuring with a scale 5. It'll even help you estimate the macro count of foods at restaurants! 6. I pretty much only need to read nutrition labels on new food products I get or measure new foods I try and then they get memorized Another trick is to memorize how much food your own closed fist equals to - for example, a closed fist could equal to 400 ml - that can help in measuring food volume! _EDIT_ - Woops that fist trick is described in this very video, my bad ahahaha

Haha my fists are tiny :D I'm to lazy to weight my food, so that sounds like a proportion size control method which fits me. Thank you!

Great advice, thank you. Can you maybe react in your next video on other fitness youtubers like Greg Doucette and say whether they are right or wrong. Or you could react to diets of other actors and say if they are natty or not?…

Hi Magnus, I am currently on a weight loss journey, and nutrition can feel somewhat overwhelming and complicated. I just want to ask how do you know what proportions of your macros to go for? And does it matter if you are on the higher carb, low fat and moderate protein or go for protein and carb about the same and a bit lower fat?

Dialing in your macro nutrients doesn't mean your micro nutrients are at sufficient levels. Or am i missing something here? You could be choosing foods that have low zinc or magnesium and indeed low potassium and still hit your macro's. How do you take care of micro nutrients? I guessing that you supplement with a multi vit to make this approach work.
