As someone that works at a petstore- the distributors just weigh them and send them off. It's outrageously overpriced and rarely ever had the amount advertised
I got a 25 pack one time and got 15 I was mad because I was trying to get enough to hold over a couple days before I got paid (just allowance from my parents) but I had to ask my mom to pay for more early which was fine but I always feel bad when she has to pay for my pets.
Seriously have always been curious about this as weird as it seems. Thanks for the video and appeasing all of our curiosity. (I'm sure there are many of us who wanted to know) 😉 BTW I 💘 your hair!😍
ALWAYS LOOK INSIDE BEFORE YOU BUY! The store does not return live bugs, but will often give a discount if there are a lot dead, all you have to do is ask. I always check mine like I would eggs, the store doesn’t mind.
First of all, I love your hair!! And second, ive never bought worms from petco but i get them from petsmart Alll the time. And my petsmart stores here in Oregon charge 4 or 5 bucks for the 50 count and 3 bucks for the 25 count. I always count and I have only been shorted once. I went back and they made it right. Every other time i have had at least 5 extra and many times I've had 10 to 15 extra. One time i had almost 90 and they were all large. Not a tiny one in the bunch.
When I was working at pet store, we did count superworms. If you bought 50, I did dig for 50. And most of the times couple more to be sure. But petstore where I was working was small privately owned. I guess bigger chaine stores don't do that. Only feeder animals we did sell by weight were normal mealworms. One customer always bought at least 100 superworms. And same ammount crickets in multiple size, cockroaches and what ever other we had to sell. It always took good hour or so.
My local Petco has horrible animal care, but I like going there to buy feeders, because I always get what I've paid for and I don't get many dead insects. But I know that some Petcos have terrible animal care as well as feeder care, and that's just outrageous.
Hey I know this is really random but I was wondering where you find the Mazuri rat and mouse pellets? I want to buy them for a hamster but I can’t find it
Yes! Even online I can't find it in my country. My lical petstore sells a ton of mazyri reptile but none of rat and mouse diet. I'm so frustrated... no higgins sunburst either. Currently on a seed mix from a local small let store (kinda their personal business and not a chain petstore. Has at least 20 varieties of seed in it) and versele laga complete pellets. Supplemented with some dried fruits veggies, dried crickets and mealworms. I wonder if that is enough...
Over here in Vietnam we literally get cupfulls of worms for like 2-3 dollarsish so I’d say that even if you get a good amount it would still be severely ripped off lol
I got two packs of them for breeding purposes,i of course, feed off the runts, but the stupid things won’t stop eating each other! I give them plenty of fresh greens and fruit,as well as animal protein in the form of fresh killed insects.
i need help asap! my hamster, misty, has long nails which are starting to curl round, and idk what to do! some info on her: she is a 1 year old dwarf hamster and she is tame and has stopped biting. i would try and cut them myself but i dont trust myself. please help !!xx
And to think I almost turned off the video when you asked why we were watching! I would’ve missed the last stealthy super worm LOL. I also hear about people getting ripped off so I was intrigued and I probably go to the same Petco at times :)
I bought 100 and paid 10 bucks and got 73 from big als and they use a tube to measure and it’s not accurate. And everytime I buy it it’s never 100 but I made a complaint and they gave me the missing worms.
Amusing video. It sort of looks like you're about to eat Chinese food haha. I've counted meal worms that I bought from a local pet store (been shopping there for years) and instead of the 10 that I asked for I got 15. All for $3 (Canadian)
I've never ever counted worms I bought. Isn't the number of worms supposed to increase if you keep them as is for some period of time? My worms have increased in the refrigerator.
I know you also live in the KC area. I go to the worm nerds to get my super worms and other bugs. They have great prices and very nice people. Every Sunday between 1 and 4 pm they will be in the Independence Tracker supply store. They also have a website. Wormnerds.com
Hello... I'm sorry my comment is unrelated but I wanted to ask a question. I figure I'll ask it in a more recent video. I cannot find mazuri rat and mouse blocks. My store only sells mazuri for reptiles. No mazuri rat qnd mouse diet in my country at all. No higgins sunburst either, or the other good brands you mentioned. So I wonder is versele laga complete mixed with a seed mix okay? Seed mix is made by my local small pet store has millets some sunflower seeds corns grains dried veggies etc and added fish oil. I also supplement with dried crickets dried mealworms, a little dried veggies and fruits and occasional fresh veggies. My hanster didn't seem to like boiled chicken or eggs. Will that be enough? If not what should I do? If I should mix another thing into it, or suggest alternative brands or maybe if I have to ship from outside of my countru
You guys: I only got 23 instead of 50 Me: You guys are getting worms? When I tried to buy calci worms, I decided it would be good to check inside before buying. When I opened the lid, there was 10 dead, black, and decaying calci worms in the tub. It was disgusting. Plus the date on the tub was only 4 days old. It was so damn disgusting. I couldn't believe I was about to pay money for inedible and decaying grubs. Also, they didn't even have crickets, so my lizard went hungry that day. She is strictly an insectivore, and the isle with the reptilr food is all labeled to turtles and bearded dragons. There are meal worms, which she can't eat cuz the exo skeleton is not digestible for her, turtle food, and bearded dragon food, which has plants in it. They only stuff I can get is crickets and the worms they have in the freezer. The store sucks at getting good worms, and they rarely have the crickets I need. I wish stores would market towards the strictly insectivore reptiles too. They have an incredibly small selection for those kinds of reptiles so it's hard to feed my lizard sometimes.
I almost never buy my feeders as I live by a lot of woods so I catch my feeders,I never buy those half dead diseased crickets from the pet store. I've never had any issues with parasites or anything like that. I think that is mostly a myth to get people to buy overpriced feeders from stores.
That is why you open the container, which you can do, and check if they are all alive before you buy them. If you find that some are dead or a lot are dead you can ask for/request a discount, also the container has the date when they were packaged. So you would then know how long the store had them on the shelf and that it would be possible that some would be dead. Common sense will save you money, but I guess you chose not to use common sense for the sake of making a monetized video.
