I love this pattern! Any suggestions to keep it from curling down? I’m using 6mm and I love this yarn

You may need to go up a hook size or loosen your tension if it's curling. I found mine curled a little bit for the first few rows but as it got taller it flattened out.

Something like this would be handy to slide over top of my winter coat hood to keep it from sliding off my head when it's windy and snowing out. Also to cover my face... especially when we get DUMPINGS of SNOW and I'm outside digging to keep the driveway clear lol. This is far more simple and stylish than TYING a scarf around my face, neck, and hood (yes, the wind and snow can get pretty bad at times here in Canada) Thanks Ali! 😊

You are the one that made me fall in love with the Alpine stitch. I've only been crocheting for a couple of years, and I usually only make things when I need to as a gift. When I first started, the Alpine stitch was pretty intimidating to me because of the FP stitches. Everything blended in and I couldn't even tell where I started or where I ended. So, I had no idea if I was doing it right, lol. I'm a 'no patience' kind of person, so it was easier to give up and throw it across the room, than it was to keep going. Then, I found your page. You explained it perfectly at a very comfortable pace, and I had no problem stitching right along with you. It's a beautiful stitch that works with just about anything you're trying to make. I have your green mittens video saved, and I have not made them, yet. But, I'm gonna try and make them this coming fall. It will be my first try at mittens. I think it's safe to say that the Alpine stitch is your favorite, lol. Because of you, I'm a huge fan now, as well. Thank you!! 🩷🌷

please help ,newbie here, i just did the foundation chain with 62, but it is really small, am i supposed to do it twice so 124 total? then moving onto the round?
@TheTurtleTrunk
@TheTurtleTrunk 10 месяцев назад
Hi! You will want to chain 62 for a child size or chain 74 for an adult size. Make sure your chain stitches are not too tight. As you start working your rounds, it will stretch out a little bit. If you need, you can add more chain stitches, just be sure to chain an even number.

I tried this so many times, the first line ends up being so tight so by the time I've done 4 rows it's all frilly and weird instead of straight. Any tips on ensuring the first line isn't tight? I've opened it up so many times and making it very loose but still not working!
@TheTurtleTrunk
@TheTurtleTrunk 11 месяцев назад
Hi! Are you sure your stitch count is right? Usually when it starts to get frilly, it leans there are too many stitches.
