I grew up right next to the Bristol bar before Glasgow corporation demolished all the housing, what an area 5 minutes from Celtic Park but you'll rarely see any tims on this part of Duke st in the days of the gangs it was attack every week they played ultra violent and unforgettable
LEGGIE YTPOWERY used to stay in whitevake flats had few mates from haghill think a met u few times n ur spot on not many timmys about that part of duke lol QS and
@@colinhouston1033 Sorry its took me so long to reply colin very busy putting timmy in his place lol.Yeah haghill was always an area associated with loyalists the supreme commander of the UDA in Scotland lived in haghill all his life apart from the 14 years he got in 1972 for possession of guns and explosives, The supreme commander of the UVF was from bridgeton one was called big Bill the other big Malky the east end has always been a hotbed of loyalism. Its one of the reasons I never went with the ICF we preferred to defend our streets against timmy, I knew Barry, Blue, Wee Andy and Walesy RIP
Not sure of the original tune's name, but it was converted into a song called.. 'If we only had the Rangers over here'......as in for fans living abroad. You could probably find it on old Rangers vinyl and maybe CDS. I first heard it on a Thornliebank Accordian band vinyl record in the mid 70s....so it's not new. I remember singing it during the Jock Wallace treble years! I found the old lyrics....................................give it a go! Now many years ago ma boys I left old Glasgow town, I traveled over to yankie land and here I've settled down, Although I miss the Bridgeton Cross and friends so near and dear, Oh what I'd give If I could have the Rangers over here You can Bum of California with your sunshine all the year, You can Bum about your Broadway lights so clear, For it would fill my heart with gladness, It would fill my heart with cheer, If we only had the Rangers over here We're the finest team in all the land, am sure that you'll agree, To see them win is something grand It's part of history, There the boys that fear no noise ma lad's I mean that quite sincere, Oh what I'd give If I could have the Rangers over here You can bum of California with your sunshine all the year, You can bum about your Broadway lights so clear, For it would fill my heart with gladness it would fill my heart with cheer...
