Slipknot is one of my favorite bands. I hope they do live versions though. Especially if they do Spit it Out because their live shows are so unique. You don't get the same feel with the studio version imo
He started to write this about an ex that left him in a dark time. His best friend and band mate was helping him write it when he died of a drug overdose. That's why the song is so emotional and hard to sing. That's why he keeps looking up to the sky. (Correction for all you sticklers: the bandmate died after the song was written)..... still doesn't really change the sentiment, does it?
@@joshuafurlong5270 its about another girl, yes. Not a love song. Its about getting let down when someone doesnt feel the same. If you want to lable it, it would be close to a Heartbrake song. Not a love song
@@joshuafurlong5270it still was never a love song my guy. It’s a heartbreak/betrayal song. A song being about an ex or a partner doesn’t automatically equal love song.
"If you still care, don't ever let me know"....man, that shit cuts the soul like a knife. Just the shear awareness to recognize the vicious cycle within himself is amazing.
Love that you did this reaction video. Cory Taylor is front man for Slipknot and Stone Sour. Snuff is performed by Cory with Slipknot on their All Hope is Gone album
This song is such a massive departure from what Slipknot normally produce and I can’t get enough of it. I just love this song…and Slipknot too for that matter. My favourite band of all time for sure
This is a song that’s on repeat for me. This is an emotional song especially for huge fans of slipknot and know the back story with Corey and Paul. Corey is one of the best singers in the industry for the last 20 years now that they’ve been making music.
The most beautifully haunting song ive ever heard to date. Corey Taylor’s heart was broken in so many ways regarding this song/this particular performance of this song. If I were him, I wouldn’t have been able to finish due to the significance and heartbreak, you can hear it ALL in Corey’s voice. It’s my all time favorite performance of any song ever. I’m glad y’all chose to do this performance as a react. I hope it affected y’all as deeply as it affects me any time I hear it. The one where he’s wearing a hat is so much harder to hear, he breaks down several times but STILL MANAGES TO FINISH somehow. Just a beautiful Song about love and loss.
Slipknot played this at Aftershock last October. Corey Taylor is neck and neck with Devin Townsend in terms of talent and vulnerability. His lyrics with both Slipknot and Stone Sour are poetic, and haunting. Duality, Psychosocial, Sulfur, The Devil in I, Zzyzx Rd., Miracles, Dead Memories, his collaboration with the Foo Fighters on From Can to Can't... The man is incredible.
This is one of my all time favorite songs. I can listen to this on repeat - and I have. His raw vocals and passionate lyrics is like non other. You can feel the energy of the crowd around him. It’s very powerful. He had a tough life growing up and most of his adulthood as well. This song was written about an ex-girlfriend’s mom, whom he also dated. He was 19 and felt like she was the love of life. When she ended things he overdosed. She’s the one who found him and dialed 9-1-1. The pain in his voice comes from the death of a band member who encouraged his to produce the song when other discouraged him. Thank you for reacting to this version of the song! God bless you both. I know you’re having a hard time right now, better things lie ahead.
For just Corey Taylor I think you would like the song “From Can To Can’t” I love his voice so much. And seeing him live, he just has the ability to pull you in with him without you realizing it. Much hugs mama from a fellow griever here in southeast Texas. 💗
Ive watched a lot of reactions to this song and one line never gets the attention i feel it should. It the line "angels lie to keep control". Its so deep and can be felt in so many ways.
I used to have serious heavy drug and alcohol issues, When I was in rehab getting clean, this was one of the songs that helped me cope, it was like a love/hate letter to my addiction....
Corey is also the singer of Stone Sour as well as Slipknot. He even does solo stuff as well as collaborates with other artists such as Tech9. Any of these bands, solo or collabs you can't go wrong. He does do a phenomenal cover of Purple Rain. Also I subbed
Can’t remember if you guys have reacted to Bother by his band Stone Sour - if not, you should. It’s super powerful and the video is poignant. I’ve loved Corey’s voice for years.
Jai, I give you a big old hug. You are such a sweet soul. The video y'all did was awesome. I love Slipknot but hearing the lead singer singing solo was awesome. Great song!
He's the lead singer of Slipknot and Stone Sour. He also has been doing solo releases under CMFT and does all kinds of collabs with other artists so he has a very EXTENSIVE catalog! 😂
Apocalyptica ft Corey Taylor "I'm Not Jesus", hard rock cello with him singing...fierce track. You guys might like Five Finger Death Punch "Wrong Side of Heaven" too.
He wrote the song with Paul Grey and Joey Jordison about his divorce. Paul wrote a lot of or most of Slipknots songs. Sadly, they both have passed away. Luv these guys. Great music it's heavy.but badass!!! Sorry for all your losses. I totally can relate with you guys. I've experienced too many myself and watching all the death at out of proportional records. GOD BLESS YOU AND EVERYONE AND EVERY LIVING BEING!!!!!😇😇😇😇😇🤍🤍🙏🙏
Crazy hearing you talk about forget the bs and enjoy life I just sat with my kid last night he's 14 but I explained best I could how life will move on without you so enjoy it kept it real with him about my past addiction how I lost so many friends how even more I lost so much time thinking about stuff that meant nothing just enjoy life and he knows because I'm a big ass kid but at 14 he just over thinks meaningless relationships and interactions I'm sure it went in one ear out the other but hearing yall talk about it early the next morning was dope
One year later I still come back to this because this is a genuine reaction but for anybody new here just listen to the music listen to that audience singing with him that'll give you an idea of what this man means to people..
I swear I'd just searched for reactions to this performance and I got nothing but videos I'd seen before. I refreshed the page and this video popped up at the top of the page. Great reaction
Love this... this song is incredible and to have been privileged to hear it From Slipknot Live and Corey acoustically is one of my favorite Moments ever at a concert.
Corey Taylor is not only the singer for Slipknot, Stone Sour, but also a solo artist. Snuff is a Slipknot song on “All hope is Gone”. Check out “Bother” and “Inhale” from Stone Sour’s first album.
I love watching the whole show. He's such an amazing artist. Just saw one of his shows in Houston on September 24th and it was freaking awesome. Thank you for doing this reaction, it's an emotional ride but so worth it. And i have found through going through yall's videos that i really enjoy watching yall's videos. Your reactions are so honest and refreshing. 😊
I love the way Jai reacts to songs that rock or are deep she really feels the song! I'd love to take her to a concert back in time!! She'd be a blast to take! Much love to the both of you! ❤️ Ps. True reactions right here, heart-felt emotions right in the feels! 🎼🖤❤️🔥
My audio went out on ym PC and I was sitting here trying to fix it for 20 min, just restarted and this was the first video on youtube so i clicked it, and that little person was so entertaining for the first audio in like an hour! Also love the Content!!!
"Bury all your secrets in my skin" is the tattoo that my daughter got me to pay for on her 18th birthday. She got it petty big across the top of her back. It let me know i raised my kids right.
I think you guys have heard slipknot anyway Corey Taylor here is the lead singer of slipknot, that being said you can hear how diverse he is and talented he is!
Corey is by far the most talented rock artist over the last 25 years. You guys didn't know in the video who he is but yall reacted 2 years ago to his band stone sour acoustic version of song #3. This is a song from his other band slipknot.
You would like Jin Jer she is poetic and unique. Love her voice. I just watched the city Taylor video you watched. He's one of my favorites he's got another song Looking-Glass it does it acoustic is pretty good
He's the front man of both Slipknot and Stone Sour, as well as recording on his own. He wrote Snuff about a dark time in his life when he experienced one of the worst breakups of his life and felt he was left with a huge hole in him. Check out Can to Can't, Zzyx Rd, and there's so many more.. Through the Glass....Bother.
Well... this was the first time since my breakup 51 days ago that I have been able to listen to this song without tearing up. We were together for 23 years, been friends for 32 years. All of that is gone now.
Both versions he made was incredible. But personally the slipknot version he made with the others are even better. But like I said. Both versions are a masterpiece.
