Jjk zero is actually the adaptation of the first story of the Jjk world. So this was written before anything you saw from season one.

Due to the novel version and the author interview. We can assume that the sentence gojo said to geto before he died is “you were my only best friend”

Apparently Yuta was originally supposed to be the main character of Jujutsu Kaisen. He’s such a badass that it makes sense! 😊

Clarifications that don't contain spoilers (wtf are some people in the comments doing) As Yuta is the one who created Rika all that power was his to begin with and continues to be so. (He apparently had to be trained back up after Rika was gone tho) Yuta is being trained in Africa, the after credit scene is during S1 when Gojo says he is going on a business trip. (We also see Yuta and Miguel in the 2nd OP) Miguel is just a hired sorcerer, a reallly strong one too as he survived 10 minutes of fighting against Gojo. Hence Gojo hired him to be a teacher for Yuta (from what I've heard this won't be explained and you're kinda just supposed to figure it out) Yuta did not use an item to copy the cursed speech, that is his own ability. Geto explains it right after, saying that after not even a year he manages to figure out that ability. Where he was wrong though was thinking that Rika was the one granting this ability. "Her form is everchanging". (On that note Yuta also casually uses reverse curse energy to heal his classmates, that's some hella advanced stuff) Apparently Yuta has more cursed energy than Gojo, but in this case quality over quantity. Even with Yuta genius status and ability to copy other abilities Gojo's limitless is just too broken. Yuta is repeatedly mentioned in S1. Gojo counts Yuta, Itadori and a 3rd year as the three people who will one day surpass him. Todo mentions that Yuta went to the previous Kyoto vs Tokyo school event alone and wiped the floor with them (and we know that Todo is able to beat a special grade). Also Panda mentions that Maki is a lot softer around Yuta while Megumi says that Yuta is the only student he respects. They even spoil the whole plot of the movie by mentioning in passing the fact that Rika was freed at some point. Lastly Geto. Gojo kills him. The noise you hear when the screen goes dark is him being killed (hence Gojo speaks in past tense at the end). This also explains why Geto was so insistent that no one learns of his involvement during S1. Also do note the stitches all over his face, he didn't have those in the movie. Other info: JJK 0 was a oneshot by the author. Oneshots are one and done manga (usually longer than a single chapter) that mangaka make (either for contests, or because they didn't plan for a long story). In some cases oneshots are so popular and sucessful that the publisher (in this case shounen Jump) asks for a serialization (aka weekly or monthly chapter releases). Sometimes mangaka also write oneshots with the hope for a serialization and then just continue where it left off or use it as an intro chapter. In this particular case the mangaka didn't feel like continuing the story as it was already kinda complete and instead started a new series set in the same world with a new protagonist and new main group. This way if you read 0 you are already familiar with a lot of stuff and having the other characters being back as sidecharacters is perfect. But it is not required to understand the story of JJK either. Yuta will return.

Some info: -Yuuta is still Special Grade, he is so powerful that he created Rika, her power were basically his power withour he even knowing. (He is distant relative of Satoru Gojo, means he is from the bloodline of one of the major clans) -The Zero on Jujutsu Kaisen 0 not only means its a prequel, but also the Zero represents the Ring, Yuuta/Rika's ring. -After Credit: Miguel is a mercenary Jujutsu Sorcerer from another country (hence "Foreigner" Gojo mentioned). He was hired by Geto, once everything went to shit with Geto he went back to his country, not actually a bad guy, mora of a Neutral one i think.

So on rikas parents. She has none. A lot of extra info was on rika was given by the author of jjk in little info bits in the manga chapters. Her mother died of illness and her father died under mysterious circumstances while he and rika were away on a trip. She moved in with her grandmother, but her grandmother was paranoid and had convinced herself that rika had killed her own parents, so she hated rika from that start. Rika actually stole the ring she gave Yuta from her grandmother. It used to be rikas mothers. So when rika says she’s was happier as a curse. She probably meant that. Her life SUCKED

If you guys are wondering, Gojo told Geto: "You were my best friend, my one and only." at the end

Gojo is the sink or swim type of teacher. He said it himself that he wants his students to be independent fighters that doesnt rely on him because he's the strongest. He wants his students to surpass him. He may just observe on the side as his students are put in real danger, but he would take over if things get really out of hand.

The end credit scene was where panda said yuta was over seas on a mission but gojo went to visit him during season one when they said gojo was out of town this is where he was

don't forget that it was yuta who made rika into a special grade curse, so yuta should still be a special grade sorcerer even without rika.

Geto truly is a broken hero. Im gonna die on this hill that all he did was justified, sadly they kept his backstory a mistery for jjk 0 and 1, but in 2023 itll be clear. Also no, not all special grades are same as gojo, he is a complete anomally. He s a special special grade god of the world status while others are just extremly powerful.

I know saying "twist" instead of die is kinda wierd, but what you have to keep in mind is that certain words take a toll on his throat, so if he just said explode or die and it didnt work, his throat would be totally wrecked and he'd be left exposed trying not to choke on his own blood from his throat, another example is Yuta at the end is using the cured megaphone to get rid of all those summoned curses by Geto, not only did he put a lot of cursed energy into it, but also the command was strong for the curses to "die"

Edit: my comment might contain minor spoilers regarding the technique names so adding this spoiler warning. So yes, there's four special grades including Gojo but make no mistake, Gojo is indeed the "superman unstoppable force of the universe." There's no rank above special grade, so they can't exactly differentiate between Gojo and Geto , but a 'Limitless' technique user with the Six Eyes is unsurpassed in raw ability. Only matched by a 'Ten Shadows' technique user such as Megumi. Gojo says this in season 1 to Megumi when he mentions how he has the potential to surpass his own ability.

Fun fact Yuta was supposed to be the main character instead of Itadori. Akutami said that JJK was supposed to be a short story but the success was so important that the shines jump ask for a longer serie. (Akutami also said that He doesn’t really appreciate itadori as a main character and like Yuta much more)

I recall Okkotsu Yuuta being mentioned in couple eps back in the first season. Like, he's one of the people who has the potential to match gojo along with yuuji and someone, also Todo mentioning him somewhere.

I haven’t read the manga so I am not sure but just my opinion from how many Anime’s I have watched I think Gojo did kill Geto and he came back to life but Gojo doesn’t know because I remember in the series that Geto looks a little different and also he has been sending others while he doesn’t show him self sense Gojo killed him maybe he still doesn’t want anyone to know he is alive I can’t remember if in the series Gojo found out he still alive or not.

You misunderstood something: Yuta was the Special Grade in the first place. Rika became a curse because he made her one and she was so special, because she was constantly flooded with his cursed energy. Geto misunderstood, just like everyone, including limitless Gojo and Yuta himself, that it was her, but he was everything himself. She was like a helping hand; he could do all of this, while channeling everything through her, thinking she did it. He then had to relearn doing all of that by himself, but in the end, since it was all him, there's no change. At this point once again: As this was the one shot volume that started the entire franchise (that's why it's 0, not 1, because from Volume 1 onwards, it is telling a new story in the same universe, picking up shortly after the part where JJK 0 left off, with an all-new main cast and protagonist), you can understand the story without it, but you will be missing information. Now you finally understand why Geto couldn't show himself during the happenings of season 1, right? Because they already think that he's dead. The sound you hear when they pan out is of Gojo killing Geto. That's why he's not a suspect anymore.

This isnt really a spoiler since im pretty sure it was mentioned in the anime but after losing rika, yuta lost his place as special grade and was put in at the very start, being grade 4. After doing a lot of missions and getting stronger, he got back his rank as special grade.

To talk a little about Gojo. He is definitely the strongest. Gojo is as strong as sukuna when he has ALL 20 fingers. His powers aren’t really explained in the movie nor the show (besides infinity) but his infinity power and what you see in the movie/shows is only a quarter of what he can do. I can tell you that Gojo is so strong that the balance of power shifted when he was born lol. There is SO much to explain about Gojo and I think when you understand his personality and powers, you’ll have a totally different view on him. I would love to explain about his power but I don’t wanna spoil anything, they will definitely show Gojo’s past is season 2 of jjk. Now a little bit about Getto and Gojo. I don’t think Gojo got outsmarted by Getto or that Getto overpowered Gojo. I think Gojo has quite a emotional bond with Geto since it was his bestfriend and they have a bit of a history bc of that I think Gojo just doesn’t wanna fight Getto.

Geto is dead. He died there after talking to Gojo. Who you see in season 1 is Getos body being possessed hence the stitches on his forehead. Its not Geto anymore. The movie is a prequel to season 1. It takes place a year before that. Yuta is being trained abroad by Miguel upon Gojos request as he is very powerful. He held his own to some extent against Gojo. Not many can do that. Yuta actually is still able to summon Rika via his ring. And he is also still a special grade. He is so strong because of his lineage. He actually has more raw potential than Gojo but Gojos ability is pretty much unmatched. Thats how potent their bloodline is.

While Gojo likes Nanami enough, they aren't really friends, collegues more like. Gojo stands too far, too high, for most people to actually try and befriend. Geto was the only one Gojo considered his equal, and even then... You'll know more with season two. As much as Gojo looks like an extrovert, and friendly, he wasn't like that, and he's pretty lonely. Most people who watch JJK only see him as this strong dumbass, a himbo, he pretends to be an idiot but he is pretty sad and lonely.
