the thing about the dog weiner thing is that the word they're saying in japanese is "chinchin" which means weiner, but it also means "to beg". chika was originally talking about some sort of trick her dog does when he begs in front of her, but kaguya interpretted it in a different way
Bare in mind Miyuki is noted to be sleep deprived, famous for his study and work ethic and has a part time job, while Kaguya is naturally talented. Kaguya spending hours coming up with and carrying out plans while Miyuki improvises is because only one of them actually has any free time :P
1:14:20 French person here, except for the beginning of the episode where they speak conversational french correctly the whole insulting/angry part is absolute gibberish lol it doesnt mean anything those aren't even real words being spoken, still very funny though
For the records: US interest in Japanese Manga or Anime is actually kinda late compared to Europe countries and especially France. It is among the only cultural aspect which could be released in Europe without being previously released in the US. To these days, France is the second reader of manga after Japan and continue to have a real fascination to that culture and media.
As an asian, that's just not true at all, percentage or amount of people, asia always comes first, anime have been popular since Astro boy and Europe, Latin America or North America is not unique in any way. France can't compare to Korea, Thailand, China, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, India, Malaysia or Singapore at all. What even is your source or you just make that up? I guarantee you the number you see in any site is never true, a random anime from a random pirated website from a random asian county always has millions of views, comparing this to any site from Europe or North America is funny how big of a gap that is
@@TALK-is1qd Well I was comparing The US and Europe, and It is a fact that the US are discovering Anime or Manga rather late in comparison ( I mean there is youtube video of american discovering dragonball today). There wasn't in my comment any mention of Asian countries whose of course are closer and were in way before than Europe. Sorry if you take it the wrong way when there was really nothing in the comment. Concerning the data that France was the 2nd reader of manga ( in percentage of reader in the population, in library and not on pirated server).... well that was a fact when I wrote the comment and remain it in 2023 (the most recent article I've found (BnF Centre national de la littérature pour la jeunesse). But Yeah indeed, my comment was not in denial of the asian countries.
I just sat here in one sitting completing this whole video, which normally isn't really my style! But your commentary was so entertaining, that I just couldn't stop watching. It was really cool to see reactors slowly but surely get so invested that by the end of the season you were genuinly upset for Kaguya that she couldn't go! And this is what'll make this show also so great in future seasons, the constant battle between comedy and tragedy and the deeper things still hiding behind each of these characters!(excluding Chika, since she's pretty much just chaos in person and there's really nothing they could or should change about her) But it's so cool to see you watch this show and it honestly just gets better from here, trust me! Also, if they say that thing's are back to normal in this show, it usually means that the concept of the show will go back to the status quo and not that the characters are. Even just by the end of season one, it's clear to see how much the characters have grown and changed since the beginning, and by the end of season three, they are almost completely different without it feeling weird or rushed! Truly, you are in for a wild ride with this one! Looking forward to the upcoming reactions!☺
2:04:26 Chika is not actually talking about her dogs weiner here , she uses a word similar to penis in Japanesee so i guess the translators decided to translate it that way to keep it funny a little , its just a joke lost in translation to English
@@duofri3nd"Chinchin" is one of orders to dogs before food or when playing like Paw, Other Paw, Lie Down kind of thing, standing up on rear feet movement. "Chinchin" also neans "weiner".
There is actually another sub for Kaguya that translated the whole thing way better and is the way better and accurate sub than the one they are watching
in the 8th episode shirogane was not stalking, he was going to help ishigami study too but when he saw her studying with shinomiya he said there was no need for him to be there.
Quick note, the main character's name is pronounced KAguya, not kaGOOya. 2:22:34 In the manga, Kaguya is actually helping Ishigami study for a completely different test (if the anime adapted chapters in order, it would be directly after the events of season 2 episode 2). That's why there's the obvious plot hole of him playing video games instead of studying despite her confiscating all his consoles and handhelds to force him to study. She also had a slightly less altruistic reason for doing so as he had unknowingly helped her out in the prior chapter and she was raised to pay back debts as quickly as possible.
neither of these are corrects, japanese language do not have stress, english language is actually very akward in terms of accent, but for people that speak latin language (portuguese, spanish, italian, etc.) it is much more easy to learn to speak japanese, because you just need to remove the stress, while english speakers must learn from zero how to read
The biggest misstep for me in the anime was episode 8, and they noticed it to some extent. the chapter where Kaguya helps Ishigami study was not in this batch of episodes it would have been in season 2 after Shirogane's birthday chapter. The issue with bringing it forwards was it deprives Kaguya of her actual motivation for doing it, and it deprives Shirogane of his victory in the test results. In the the manga Kaguya was 100% competing with him and did not let Ishigami distract her at any point. Changing so that she could say she lost because she tutored Ishigami takes a little steam out of Shirgane's accomplishment. No it was a fair competition and he beat her fair and square.
I'm so happy you guys are reacting to this, it's my favorite romcom of all time. Thanks so much for your reaction compilations they're the best! Also I really can't wait for you guys to see season 2 cuz it only gets better 😁
Man that was a blast reliving these episodes with you guys! My favorite part were your reactions to the "Ramen and Chika" scene. "WHAT ARE WE WATCHING!?" 🤣
1:12:10 apparently the language learning program called babbel is very Good because they got native speakers to teach you the words and all that stuff and phrases you would actually use in the real world etc. Think they also have a phone app
Cosplay got big during the pandemic because at some point during the cabin fever you would move onto the "build random stuff stage" this normally came after the "watch random stuff stage" and obviously went along side the "eat random stuff stage"
The meaning behind the Japanese dog joke and Kaguya laughing is that “Chin chin” means “to prostate”(a dog sitting on its hind legs with front legs elevated) which is what Chika was saying; but Chin Chin is also slang for “dick” in Japanese.
I've been binge watching your videos. this react format is so good. and I love this anime. and your inputs have always been on point. great content you guys.
I love that you guys reacted to this. I srsly think this show is underrated lol. The emotional roller-coaster they put us through...I can't🤣 Hope you guys will react to season 2 and 3 ♥
2:04:11 so to clear the issue here in japanese the word "chin chin" is both a slang for dick and the onomatopia for begging, she is taking about the dog trick where the dog stands only on his hind legs which almost makes it look like it is begging, there is no way to properly translate this unfortunately
omg FINALLY....sweaty hands have ruined my life......exams were rough for me, i would just rip the paper by accident, shaking hands must be my top 10 most embarrassing experiences PERIOD
Ai Hayasaka is almost like a lady-in-waiting, rather than a common maid. She's more of a companion to Kaguya. She comes from a wealthy family, but works for a wealthier family.
About Chika talking about "his dog peepee" it's just a joke about how the word "chinchin" can mean penis AND also, when you make a dog sitting in two legs, so Chika was really talking about a new trick that she taught his dog, but Kaguya only heard "wiener"
1:14:00 french speaker right there, the show used some French word but if you put together it will be the same as a baby trying to speak to you, pure incomprehension. Basically, they aren't speaking French.
I am so excited for this video.. gonna watch it slowly.. Also..after all these animes can you please react to one piece.. it's a long running series and the way you guys release content with hours long videos.. it will be really enjoyable.. and also it's a great anime.. Thanks for your hard work ❤❤
The dub for this show feels like a completely different experience because the narrator took a completely different direction with the lines, in the sub it feels like the narrator is there to explaiin the characters, in the dub it feels like the narrator is just someone watching the show with you and adding their own commentary.
Talking about student councils. I've seen a lot of anime with student councils involved and when I heard there's a student council in our school I was like "wait...student council exists irl?!?!?"
2:59:05 I strongly recommend anyone who has watched this scene already to watch the dub version of it. The narrator in dub for this show deserves a big paycheck. Man was legendary!
*During episode 11's Ramen Match:* "What are we watching!?" _One of the best damn scenes in all of Season 1, that's what LMAO_ _If I remember correctly, Ramen Dude becomes a bit of a staple background character for Fujiwara lol_
33:23 This sparks an interesting point. The sentiment is that if someone has 'bad' friends, it's not worth it. ( In this case ''it'' being the pursuit of a romantic relationship) So consider this, if someone has bad friends, does that mean they're bad too? If you're a morally sound person, you shouldn't be attracted to 'bad' people. And those around us aren't ultimately the ones who dictate who you are. They're undoubtedly an influence on us, but who you are, and what you do is decided by you. So does having 'bad' friends make you bad as well? My answer is no. If that's the case though, deciding to not date someone based on their friends, rather than the person you're actually attracted to feels cruel.
SPOILERS FOR THE MOVIE wow i just finished the movie and its awesome how literally in episode 1 miyuki mentioned that kaguya should take off her mask! the things you learn after rewatching something is just awesome!!
2:54:00 You are completely right, I was telling my friend to dump some dude because of the way she was getting treated for quite a while...and apparently it seems like in about a year everything got better and now they are married and had a baby last year, lol I don't regret saying those things, I was really mad at him and really thought she deserved so much better, but I can't talk to him anymore without feeling bad about it TwT
Hola chicos, Hi guys, great reactions and summaries, please I have a question, do you plan to watch Neon Genesis Evangelion???? The original series of 26 episodes
1:00:20 How did I completely know you guys knew about mbti hahaha probably because you guys figured out their personalities so quick Miyuki Shirogane: Definetly an ENTJ Kaguya: INTJ Chika: Yupp ENFP energy lol Ishigami: Biggest INTP I have ever seen (same goes for Kaguya about INTJs) Hayasaka: INFJ
Poisonous Snake? Hm... yeah I always hate getting poison from snakes... they are all slimy and totally not scaly... all wiggly and not... Venomous at all.
One thing I want to mention is that you guys seem to have misunderstood Shirogane's situation. It's not his fault he don't have any time and that he works all the time, he literally needs to work because his family is extremely broke and that is also why his only lifeline is his grades. He is only in that school because of his academic skills while all around him are billionaires.
Daah this is one of the shows i prefer the dub, it takes the whole thing as more of a joke with the narrator commentating on our wavelength rather than the sub which narrates like a military report.
58:30 Now I can imagine the presidential debates of 2048: "The American People have the right to know if their president is a Narutard! Answer, yes or no, did you or did you not cosplay as Sasuke in the 2008 Anime Midwest convention??!!"
The wall slam is a common thing in Japanese and other asian media romance. It looks badass and masculine. But its aggressive and sexual. Its like pinning a girl down but instead its against a wall. Unless you know the person likes you its a horrible idea. Its like one step away from assaulting someone.
@@wesandsteph2822 I’m so glad I found about you guys reaction videos, I seriously love you guys reaction reacting to anime, I might give your pattern a shot
