We're so honored to have so many Queen fans who regularly visit our channel, and so we made sure that they were one of the groups we used for a Christmas song. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all our viewers!

There is another Christmas gem from Queen called "A Winter Tale" recorded at the end of Freddies life and his vocal on the track is out of this world.

I just listened to A Winter's Tale by Queen and it is absolutely beautiful. I know Mrs. Coach would like it and I'm pretty sure Coach would like it too. I loved Thank God It's Christmas

Freddie’s right, “Thank God It’s Christmas”. Brian commented that the song didn’t chart well so an animated video was added several years ago!! Christmas was Freddie’s favorite holiday! 🎄

Roger came up with Thank God It's Christmas, while Brian came up with I Dream Of Christmas. Roger's song was chosen by the duo, and then they finished it together. The other song was later recorded by Anita Dobson, who would become Brian's wife. The song features Brian on the guitar and John on the bass.

I really like how this song focuses on the voices that sound really good, you can also clearly hear each note pronounced by Freddie, which is a very rare style to see in Queen, I loved the reaction, really fun, I think I'll go end up getting into the Christmas spirit too 😅❤

i think you really would like queen‘s „fight from the inside“ and „loser in the end“, both sung by roger taylor, the drummer. if you wanna hear freddie‘s hardest song for his voice i would recommend the song „gimme the prize“, a song of the soundtrack to the movie „highlander“.

Brian and Roger wrote this pretty song. It is different than most Christmas songs which I really appreciate, I am right up there with Coach on Christmas Carols. This song has a John Lennon feel to it to me and I can almost hear John singing along with Freddie. Thank you for your reactions.

"Merry Xmas Everybody" is a song by the British rock band Slade, released as a single in 1973. The song was written by lead vocalist Noddy Holder and bassist Jim Lea, and it was produced by Chas Chandler, the animals, who was the Manager of Jimi Hendrix. It was the band's sixth and final number-one single in the UK. Earning the UK Christmas number one slot in December 1973, the song beat another Christmas-themed song, Wizzard's "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday", which reached fourth place. It remained in the charts for nine weeks until February 1974. Slade had songs covered by Quite Riot. In 1973 alone, "Merry Xmas Everybody" sold over one million copies globally, obtaining gold disc status. They toured Europe in 1973 and the US in 1974.

I know I'm a bit late and other's have already suggested it, But yiu have to do A Winter's Tale. It was recorded in 1991 and released on Queen's final album, Made In Heaven in 1995. It was the last song Freddie ever wrote on his own, And it has two backstories that I'm unsure which is true but I'd go with the former. The most common one is Freddie wrote it while in Montreux, Switzerland while getting treatments for AIDS and he wrote the song about what he saw outside his window. The other is he wrote it about the hallucinations he saw caused by the treatments. It's a great song with great vocals with such a beautiful look on life from the eyes of a man that knows he doesn't have long left.

This is one Christmas song that I like. Like Coach, not a big Christmas song type person but love Queen. Was totally taken off guard when I found out they had one. By surprise I loved it! Merry Christmas to you both! Like Mrs. Coach said Freddy was able to alter his voice in many ways. Brian is a big animal right activist and that fox is just a representation of all his efforts, IMO.

Thanks for this great reaction! I understand exactly how Mrs Coach feels. Since the pandemic it seems like it’s one thing after the other. And this song sought off touches on that which makes it very relevant. Can you please react to a Winters Tale it’s so beautiful, Freddie’s vocals are beautiful and so is the song. It was the very last song Freddie ever wrote not long before he died. All the best to you and yours for the New Year.

A bit of trivia here that may have already been mentioned but jut in case: Roger doesn't play drums here; instead, they're programmed, also by him, using one of those Linn drum machines that were so trendy back then. The other instrument he played on this record was a synthesiser.

@CoachCastTV Freddie's penultimate day/time of the year! He so loved gifting and at Christmas he lavished not only friends and family with gifts, but also charities and hospitals. @@CoachCastTV I’ve just read an interview where Brian said that they wanted the video to reflect, a subtle reminder that we should be thinking about all creatures, rather than just our fellow humans. The song didn’t have enormous chart success and they think that may have been partly due to there being no proper video for it, at the time of the single’s release. So this video was made just three years ago.

Thank you so much for this. This song celebrates Christmas in a far less shmaltzy way than most. Since there was no video for the song when it was released as a single for Christmas '84, this video was commissioned by Roger & Brian in 2019, for posting the song on You Tube. To honour Freddie, the figure on the roof at the end, was supposed to represent Freddie petting one of his many rescue cats... although I see someone else is saying it was a fox for Brian. Now I can't remember where I heard it was supposed to be Freddie and Delilah.... 🤔

Hi folks! Re: Coach nixing holiday tunes; like stuff on a high shelf, I just don't get it. But, to each their own. There are some great covers of the Grinch song by some excellent bands, if you're ever of a mind. This one, tho, is nice, as it's a "Christmas" song without being a traditional Christmas song.
