Mama always said who you are in the past doesn't always lead you the person you are in the future. Muriel went through a character development like everyone else
When you study psychology this is one of the prime laws. The more brat, active and curious a kid is the more relaxed and respectful gets after the adolescence. That's because the kid, while pushing the limits constantly, starts to get realize what he can do and what he can't faster than a passive and relaxed kid. The thing it's to put them their limits the more earlier you can, because if you don't they could start to get violent and dangerous behavior which could cause problems afterwards, so that curiosity could be a doble edge tool. In the other hand, the calm and closed attitudes of passive kids tends to get into apathy and sociopathy as they get older, so force them to make relationships with others and stimulate their curiosity it's very important.
Everyone starts off as an asshole, and its up to your parents to make sure you know how to be a decent person, whether it be through good parenting or fucking up so bad your kids vow to be nothing like you.
I was a very annoying obnoxious child that definitely hurt a lot of my friends feelings. I think becoming aware of that made me extra aware of how I treat people noww
Well, she's very old as an adult. Qualified enough to be a grandma, so as an adult, she could have hearing problems which is why she understands courage better as a child. But that's just a theory....
@@user-fx8rk2jm3w This is taken from Wikipedia: "Nowhere is a fictional town in the U.S. state of Kansas that Courage and majority of the cast live in (as well as where most episodes of the show take place)." The farm they live in should be just outside the town.
IKR? It’s so cute! I call Courage a “fur baby” sometimes (cuz he’s cute) and IDC if she’s his owner and he’s her pet but I’d definitely call Muriel one of my favorite animated mothers/parental figures in TV and movies.
@@ultraboombean yep, that's pretty common. I know a Brazilian guy since we're kids, and his accent was heavy when we were 10. Now it talks almost exactly as I do, his accent slowly dimmed with the time.
@@sujaxonic9866 I actually read a fanfiction story about this episode called Little Eustace and instead of just Muriel it's both Muriel and Eustace who get turned into babies and everything plays as normal and Courage hits Little Eustace on the head with the Rollin pin.
The Mac and Cheese scene is legendary! This show is one of the best parts of my childhood! She threw the food at Courage and saying she hated it though she asked for it. SAVAGE!😁😎
@@i504_Allah She should have been specific. Plus our parents did it to us. Give us something if we're hungry. Lots of times you have no choice what to eat. And Muriel should have said she hated it at the beginning instead of trolling courage
So funny how Muriel was a chaotic hellion as a kid and a sweet loving person in her adulthood, but man was she adorable and her VA Kath Soucie was perfect!
Watching this, I remember Muriel making some remarks on how her mother or grandmother was really, crazy strict. Now I see that they knew what they were doing!
I love the airplane scene because it's probably the most annoyed I've seen Courage lol, and it's also relatable because my little brother used to be very hyper like that when he was younger
“I want to go to the candy store!” “I want to buy a toy!” “I want to watch TV!” “I want to go to the zoo!” “I want to go swimmin’!” “I want a new DOLL!” “I want a new front tooth!” “I want a tea party!” “I want a PARTY dress!” 0:28
This was in season 1. Courage had a lot more lines. after season 1, Courages dialogue was limited due to the creator John Dilworth thought that he talked too much
1:09 - 2:00 Definitely my favorite part of the episode. It’s hilarious watching Courage steadily losing control of his life as he tries to appease Muriel lol. On a tangent, I do think the episode made creative use of the Coriolis Effect in relation to age (the directions being metaphors for time moving forth or back).
This is the second time that someone other than Eustace used the OOGA OOGA BOOGA mask to scare Courage, the first time was Ma Bagge from “mother’s day” episode even though it was only to scare Eustace, not Courage but Courage got scared anyway.
For once, I didn’t even realize that was the same actress who played Lola bunny and yet her existence continues to haunt me whatever I see her face and hear her voice, except for any decent promises I could’ve receive.
When she wants to hurl, if Courage was barely exposed to young muriel he probbaly would have grabbed a bucket or something. But instead he just utterly done with her shit and leaves her to puke on herself lmfao
That proofs why Muriel is always in a good mood while Eustace is bad Tempered. Seems like she was spoiled child who always got what she wanted, even if she wasn’t rich. Eustace on the other hand was a sad child, on the episode “The Curse of Shirley” he saw his younger self as a small bald boy crying cos the sun is too hot for his head & he doesn’t have a hat, Also don’t forget that he lived with an abusive mother.
Maybe it's an episode of season 1. In season 1, courage used to speak a lot more. I heard that the fans didn't really like him speaking a lot, that's why he is more silent in next seasons.
