If you’re a simplistic chump, sure. Anyone that doesn’t “get” what Ulysses is saying, either isn’t paying attention, or a dumb-dumb; and mocking things because you don’t understand them is just about the most foolish, embarrassing thing to admit to. Essentially.
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand what Ulysses is saying. The nuance is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of Mojave politics most of the meaning will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Ulysses' nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Pre-War literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who don't understand what Ulysses is saying truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Ulysses' existential catchphrase "You came all this way for answers. Only currency I have" which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Obsidian's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. FNV used to be my favourite game as a kid. I remember being around 7 or 8 and I literally got the game just cause someone told me that you can drink from the toilet. I knew no english, I had no clue what was going on, I was just running around killing stuff. I legit thought the game ends when you get to New Vegas.

Because Ulysses is hypocritical, the designers didn’t overlook it he actually was made like that, thats why if you counter what he says he just goes to “you’re still the bad guy”
Isn't that the point? That Ulysses is supposed to be a hypocrite? I mean that was my impression from his rampant monologuing ass. I see it as intentional, because it seems like what he preaches and does contradicts a lot and that seems to be consistent.
It's a good thing New Vegas had multiple choice options for dialogue because...I can't imagine actually coming up with a response to most of the shit Ulysses said.

I remember when I first played new vegas, I stumbled across the divide entrance and not knowing any better I went in and played through the whole DLC before actually doing anything in the game.

how does taking a video and hamfisting in different words to change the meaning "support creativity?" people literally trace or heavily reference the animation but replace elements to make it fit a theme. there's certainly effort put into this video, but the more of these there are, the less effect the original video has.

As I Understand it Ulysses is meant to represent an ultimately Pessimistic view of war. Where war is horrible and should be avoided at all cost, history shows that war is the only way some things change (politics, borders, ideologies, religion, people, entire nations) If you would take a philosophic standing to war, as much like money is a nessicary evil in the grander scheme of things. Its all part of the natural game we Humans play without realizing it. Yet in what appears to be his realization of it, Ulysses stands in stark rejection of War, while accepting that one cannot stop it. So instead he resolves simply to end it permanently. As best he can. Rather then accepting that better things can be made through war, if you need an example the post ww2 boom.
