To the handful of simpletons complaining about Prince Henrik - they specifically asked him for this show. They specifically want his opinions. He's not being "rude", "bossy", or "micromanaging". He's obviously enthusiastic about food and cooking. It's almost like some of you just click on the video not to watch but to complain.

Love how informal his late royal highness was calling the chef by his name abd driving him around the gardens . His royal highness was a wonderful husband and father too . Never afraid to show hid emotions open hearted and humble a true love story. He was content to be her majestys consort and confidante . He did joke about being king . A real treasure for Denmark amd much loved abd missed

Brilliant and thank you so kindly for adding the English subtitles I enjoyed every bit of what the Prince showed us. I love their closeness of family and how it intermingles with healthy organic food. Thank you so much dear Prince for the legacy you have left for generations for your family and the Danes YOUR COUNTRY IS BLESSED BECAUSE OF YOU.

The queen asked for donations from her rich friends to get the veg. gardens in tip top shape, even though she just spend the summer at that perticular castle. And the paid Dkr 1.000.000 for it. Let’s talk about snobbery and privilege.

Love this. The Prince is The Boss and the Chef is seemingly okay with that. He gets paid to listen to what his "client" wants... it's what he signed up for... and The Prince is quite a character who knows what he wants. The Chef did not seem the least put out with the "meddling"... he knows it goes with the territory.

Rip Prince Henrik. The King of Stuffed Carp. 1975-1979 Henrik made many tarte flambe amd puff pastries at Sandy Point, NS. Glucksburgs werent fussy. The foods were plain but fresh. They loved pickled eggs with a paprika. Recall them making vast stockage of 1000 years old and pickled or deviled eggs. Would bring them home in jars from Prince Henrik. He also made cranberries wines. My folks didnt know. I would tell them it was the Carthusian monks and nuns. Can recall Henrik demonstrating how to make 1000 years old eggs. Recall if they were picking blueberries, Joachim and and Frederik would have to wear a bucket on their backs. The princes often appeared to be dressed in matching jumpers, reminiscent of elf on the shelf. Looks like Henrik let his stomach take over in the end. His father Andre was also rather large in the stomach. These French were of solid appetites. The fuss over a carp would likely keep Princess Benedicte away as she often complained over the foods Henrik would prepare. Benedicte knew nothing of cooking and Henrik saw her as the typical uncultured Dane. She was boring.

I'm quite interested in Scandinavian languages and I'd like to know what do the native Danes think of the Prince's Danish speaking skill?. I know that his native tongue was French and I'm guessing that he had an accent (I don't know how thick) when he spoke Danish.
@kille7543
@kille7543 3 года назад
Yes he had an accent, but it wasn’t that bad let’s say 30% accent. But he often used the the words the wrong way around, the reason is that French is from the latin family and Danish is from the German family of languages, and yet that statement isn’t quite fair as both german and english also from a danish point of view use their words in different order compared to Danish! Confused? I have been told Danish is one of the hardest languages to learn and that might be true, but we have so may words in common with French, English and German and weirdly enough Dutch, even though I do not understand a word of that, but maybe if I read it in a newspaper. All Danes understand Norwegian and Swedish.
@mscott3918

@@kille7543 It's always difficult for speakers of Latin languages (Italian, French, Provençal, Spanish, Catalan, Portuguese, Romanian, Romansh, not forgetting all Occitan dialects spoken in the South of France) to learn German and all the other West and North Germanic languages (Dutch and Scandinavian languages) mostly because of the syntax. German is adding insult to injury with declension and their famous "Schachtelsatz" which gave me so many headaches
