Court rules parents can't opt kids out of LGBTQ+ curriculum in Maryland

Take your children out of these schools. Shut them down and you all pay taxes for these schools. They educate your children the way you want

That's a shame! My kids should be playing and having fun like kids do. They don't need to be learning about thus kind of stuff at their age. I'm homeschooling mine.

We will all give account for our choices and our views. The Lord is serious about children and we will all give account for whatever way we have steered them. Woe until all who oppose the ultimate laws given by the Creator. Now it is simply a wait and see. One thing is for sure we all will take our last breath and find out. Live well!

KIDS DO NOT GROW UP WITH HATE AND THEY ARE SPONGES, BUT THAT IS THE VERY REASON WHY IT IS SO EASY TO INDOCTRINATE A CHILD. A WOMAN HAS THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE WHAT SHE DOES WITH HER BODY, WOMEN AND PARENTS IN GENERAL SHOULD HAVE THE RIGHT O NOT TO HAVE THEIR CHILDREN INDOCTRINATED BY SOCIETAL ISSUES THAT THEIR PARENTS DEEM INAPPROPRIATE FOR THEIR KIDS.

Just everyone walk out or lay out that day or load up in bathroom

Parents should show up outside the homes of the judges who made this ruling protest 24-7.

Islam is very strict about LGBTQ. It's doubtful that the appeals would've allowed if Muslims were the litigants.

All parents have to do is teach their kids to leave the room when the teachers start forcing this garbage on them, that or become extremely disruptive in class.

If I had kids I would leave America. There is no way around it anymore, you can't vote yourself out of these problems.

I understand the concerns. However, the work is that of the parents. This is a public school where kids encounter kids who are or may be LGBT (I knew I was gay in 1997 at the age of 5 -- I just didn't know there was a word for it until the age of 12 -- and it wasn't a nice word). As a parent you have an option. I understand as well that some socially conservative families don't want LGBTQ people normalized. They would rather it be like when I was growing up gay in the South in the 70s and 80s; a taboo topic that shoved people into the closet, and led to higher than normal mental health issues and chemical abuse among LGBT people. Well some MD public school systems wish to allow for LGBTQ stories to be available to all so that it is normalized, to avoid the mistakes of earlier generations. If you are not for LGBTQIA stories being normalized, tell your child they cannot check out books on LGBTQIA issues or storylines, and teach them at home how your family differs from what the schools are teaching. My progressive parents had to do that all of the time in Tennessee where I learned, in school, from kids and teachers that Catholics were Satanic, and heard the N word (not from teachers) constantly. Parents need to parent. Opt out by raising your kids with your values. Speaking with my own students about this and they felt that the more you tell your kids no the more they are interested. My conservative families and progressive families reinforce their beliefs at home. It's complicated but the work shouldn't be on the schools. It should be on the families themselves. I
