Hi J. Nice reaction. So cool that you came across Courtney's music. She is amazing. You would have no way of knowing after just one song, but she is truly a generational level talent. Unbelievable vocal power, control and range. You just heard what a killer rock voice she has and when she is on stage, she dominates a stage like no other. However, her vocal versatility is astounding. Courtney is equally as great across so many genres besides rock. R&B, Funk, Soul, Ballads and more. The most incredible thing is, whatever the genre, there is never a drop off to the incredible quality of her music. Virtually all artists, even the biggest, have their comfort zone. Inside that zone, they are great, but take them outside that zone, and not so much. We've yet to see where Courtney's comfort zone ends, because she can sing virtually anything exquisitely. To hear one of her ballads is to truly appreciate what a gorgeous voice she has, Courtney first rose to worldwide fame when she appeared on America's Got Talent (AGT) in 2018 when she was 13. Her audition went viral and now has over 1 billion overall on line views. Courtney herself is closing in on 3 billion views. She has die-hard fans from virtually every country in the world. While on AGT, Courtney sang exclusively classic rock from the 60's and 70's by the likes of James Brown, Tina Turner and Janis Joplin. Courtney was so great on AGT that she was almost immediately signed to a record deal at Syco/Arista records (Sony Music). After AGT, those that knew her from only there, viewed her as this fabulous stage dominating rocker, which she surely is. But, she is so, so much more. As I mentioned above, her range is astounding. So in 2019, she released an EP called the 'Cover Sessions' where she took some of the biggest recent hits across different genres, and re-invented them into her vision of the way they could have been sung. They were all sensational. The purpose was to highlight both her incredible vocal versatility and her off the charts creativity. All four of the 'Cover Session' songs are available on her RU-vid channel. That Courtney is not already a household name is mostly a matter of bad luck regarding timing. Of course, there was the pandemic, which delayed her album release for over two years. However, there was more. She was slated to be the youngest performer at the 50th anniversary of Woodstock, but that was ultimately cancelled due to logistic and financial reasons. Then her label was sold, which caused more chaos. Then there was the fact that for years, her label kept trying to turn her into something she said she never wanted to be. Another pop princess. Does that incredible rock voice you just heard belong limited to pop songs? Fortunately, Courtney stood her ground and, as soon as she could, at the beginning of this year, she left her label and went independent, Courtney has a huge song library that she hasn't been able to release because of the reasons described above, but she has shared many of them, in whole or in part with fans, and they are all sensational. She is such a powerhouse as a songwriter. Since she has gone independent this year, she has already released four mind blowing originals. Her first three originals were non-rock. They were 'Breakable', a gorgeous gritty ballad, 'That Girl Don't Live Here', an amazing uptempo jazzy number with a touch of almost 1940's Swing and 'Call Me Back', which will rip your heart out every time you hear it. All are available on her RU-vid channel. 'Monsters' was her first step back into her rock persona. When Courtney is in control of her own destiny, amazing things happen. Now that she's independent, she has said to expect a release every month or two. So buckle up. It's going to be an incredible ride. I can't wait to hear you react to more of Courtney's music.
Nice reaction. Glad to see Ms. Courtney Hadwin reconnecting with the huge audience who knew her back when audition went viral, but got lost along the way after she got signed in Dec 2018. Unfortunately that gap is a frustrating and long story. The start of that story is that the 'labels' the co-signed her, SYCO Music and Arista, signed her up for the big anniversary weekend Woodstock 50 extravaganza. The one that flopped and cancelled out before it ever started. She was going to be youngest act with a full set on that big stage, apparently. The original song she sang on 14 January 2019 for AGT: The Champions was apparently one of the set she was working up to perform at festival in August 2019. So at least we have that live performance. When watching that, take note that she got 3 standing ovations from the audience. First, when she simply walked out onto the stage. Second when she completed her performance. And the third when Howie Mandel, the last judge to talk with her, since he'd been her Golden Buzzer sponsor back in AGT the previous year, said that he didn't recognize the song, whose is it? To which Ms. Courtney responded "It's an original" which, of course, brought the audience back to its feet with a loud ovation. The original vid was taken down, as have all the AGT originals, but we do have a few partial copies around RU-vid that we can still watch, though they all cut various parts of the full experience. Here's the one I prefer that still remains: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LNjy7O9QXo8.html
She was on AGT in 2018. She was 13/14 at the time. She has done so many covers since she was nine years old, at least 90 songs of all genres, she is 19 now. Her range is so diverse, she can go from Rock, to Pop. to Gospel, to Jazz, to Blues, to Motown, to Ballads, to Disco, to Funk,... even Opera. And she can fluctuate between genres within the same song. You should seriously check out her other songs this year, Breakable, That Girl Don't Live Here & Call Me Back. A couple of years ago, she released an EP of four cover songs (I think that it was called Cover Sessions), and a Christmas cover of John Lennon's Merry Xmas The War is Over. But apart from these professional releases, she's done a lot of cover songs via social media during Covid lockdowns, Karaoke, and released some snippets of the songs she did this year so far, plus a few more to come. There is another original song on RU-vid that was a work in progress called "Good Old Days" You should check it out.
@@lurkerinthetube I downloaded most of the songs she did over the years that were posted to RU-vid, and when I was on Facebook onto a USB drive. Sadly, most of them have vanished, but I still have them.
@@lurkerinthetube I got most of 'em. There's a few songs that are in two or more videos because they were both too good to leave out, but I think I still got at least 80 songs on it. ru-vid.com/group/PLVmYe6d3h8mVZiOo3bXSGER4Gn-6_eg3S
Great reaction! Courtney is 19 now, and after a tough time with the record company, she left and became an independent artist. She released her first single Breakable (emotional ballad) in the beginning of this year, followed it up with That Girl Don't Live Here (Swing/jazz/rock) and Call Me Back (VERY emotional ballad) and now with Monsters (Punk/Rock)
She was 13 when she auditioned for AGT in 2018. She had experience the previous year on Kids Voice UK, but AGT was a much bigger stage and she was nervous to the point that they had to send out a couplr of acts ahead of her to give her time to calm down. She went on so shy and quiet that Simon was thinking it's not going to go well. She took a moment to prepare on stage, then the music kicked in and she started bouncing to the beat. Then, she opened her mouth and there was a collective gasp in the audience as she went from 0 to 100 in 15 seconds! Nobody could believe what they were seeing as she hit them with so much power and personality. She's now 19 and an independent singer. Many things went wrong for her on the contract she got from Simon after AGT, but that's now the past. She's released 4 songs since the beginning of the year (including Monsters). You should look them up on her You Tube site. They are very good and we need to get her over the hump of 1M subscribers on You Tube (she's at 998K).
There was a creative difference between Sony and Courtney. They wanted her to only record cover songs, but Courtney wanted to record some original songs after the record of covers. They were hashing that out when Covid hit and put a damper on her singing career. I wouldn't call her successful yet. recording is okay but her forte would be touring. I could see her touring maybe three times a year with the right backing. Right now, hopefully she can get one a year, but the big problem would be finding the right agent to arrange the paperwork.
Welcome back to The Wonderful World Of Courtney Hadwin! It's like what Darren said about Good Old Days, there was a big gap between the 4 "live cover" songs in 2019 and the 4 original songs this year, when Courtney kept in touch with her fans via all the major social media sites, partly with bits and pieces of songs she kept working on. It started with covid, but continued with creative differences with her label. Some more folks will be along soon who've followed her even closer than I do and will fill in a ton of the in betweens. Thank you for this, Liked and Subscribed!
I know I'm not the best writer, but I tried to give as much information about her as possible, from what I can remember. If it wasn't for Covid, and industrial interference, I'm pretty sure she'd be up there with the likes of Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Lorde and the others by now.
Courtney is courtney a one of a kind vocalist.she is now a independent. Has done heart wrenching releases to pure rock. Her latest release is christmas rocks she has put out two very catchy releases in the last month.she is all energy. A very powerful vocalist.❤❤🎉
There is alot of verified Courtney history by a lot o knowledgeable fans in the comments that should bring you up to speed on Courtney. There have been many personal and professional roadblocks for Courtney which I think have made her stronger and enduring. She should make it to the top of the entertainment heap, but she is very different from the reigning pop princesses and is independent which make this a slower climb. I urge people to donate and share her GoFundMe where she is over 70% to her goal of funding a trip to America to finish her album with producer Kevin Bowe. I hope you keep.reacting to Courtney!
Courtney is now an independent artist and has released 4 singles this year upto October 2023. See her youtube channel for all her new releases. You can also subscribe and join her channel for future new music.
At present Courtney has a songwriting partnership with her music producer, Kevin Bowe, and they are about to put out a full album of original songs. If you haven't yet, check out her song "That Girl Don't Live Here." She has also done some great covers, and she makes each one completely her own -- look for her cover of the Jonas Brothers "Sucker."
I totally agree. Everyone keeps comparing her to JJ, but I can never understand why. I was never a fan of Janice Joplin, there was something about her sound I did not like. However, Courtney's AGT audition really blew me away, ... instant fan. Not just the power, but the control, the contrast between performance and standard Courtney, the emotion within the music, not to forget her almost unlimited range, vocally, stylistically and genre too. She can sing almost anything, in almost any style and genre, and the way she can change, blend and fuse styles and genres through songs too ... Courtney is the real thing, no gimmicks, nothing artificial, no bravado, just raw talent. If it wasn't for some bad luck, and industrial interference, she'd be a number one global sensation by now.
Courtz has covered alot of grounds before her AGT AUDITION and after. Too much to comment on. She's been on a stage now for 10 years. IF you desire in obtaining more success on your reactions go back and check into her. Many are calling her the, Future Queen of Rock n Roll! 🎤🎸🥁🎹
