I'm not a weed smoker, but I have a 4-20 Power Animal and his name is Strawberry! Here is a special cut with just his scenes. Happy 4-20. #cheechandchong #cousinstrawberry #upinsmoke
What are you talking about patties? Those aren't patties those are just Chicanos man. The lines/dialog and the talents of all of these guys was insane! They were ALL about the most talented actors/comics/stoners to ever be in a movie!
As a City of Los Angeles Inspector; I could not believe it one day I was called to inspect Strawberrys' house. And "I wasn't looking at his neck man" kept running through my mind.
My stoner dad took me to see this movie in the theater when it first came out in September of 1978. I was just 12 years old and higher than a kite on some "good" Columbian, since Dad didn't see anything wrong with getting his tween son stoned. I laughed so hard that I literally pissed my pants and had a great time that I'll never forget. At the time, I of course thought it was awesome that I had a dad who would get me stoned. He was financially responsible enough and was never physically violent, but he clearly lacked good judgement when it came to raising kids.
@@majikjuggalo I mean they were the ones taking the risk buying it. As long as u get your moneys worth I didnt care. Its an unwritten rule to hook up the person that gets it for u
Me and my dad before he passed away use to quote this movie all the time. My dad wasn't much of a dad but he was a hell of a drinking buddy and drug buddy.
The stoned cop wanting a bite of his hot dog is great too. Fuck, the whole movies great. My #1 stoner flick hands down, Fast Times at Ridgemont High a close second.
These guys are geniuses. We all love those awkward situations where you just have to let things go and play along because it'll just get worse. Your mind can process what's going on in a heartbeat, but it's hard to explain without writing 5 paragraphs.
We used to go to a dudes house to " get" , someone had a bird that would yell " close the goddam door!!!" Always a laff to bring someone unaware there & see them.react
When these were on Showtime, HBO, or Cinemax in the early 80's after we first got cable as teens, these were hilarious because they were so irreverent. It's wasn't so much the humor as the stoner lifestyle in Reagan "Just Say No" America being seen by middle class suburban kids late at night. It is a bit like going to a midnight showing of Rocky Horror or The Warriors that just didn't fit the conformity of the time.
To this day no one has ever gotten my strawberry reference when someone asks me how I'm doing. My answer is usually, "I'm doin"....lmao no one ever gets it! Lmao but I still do it anyway 🤷♂️
Jeeze Louise!! Tom Skerritt is absolutely BRILLIANT in this scene!! He barely has any lines but he still makes such an impact on the viewer (at least, THIS particular viewer, that is!). His delivery and his sheer presence is just hilarious. His delivery of his lines and his facial expressions are just magnificent. For me, he's the best part of this very funny film that as a young man - who loved smoking weed in his earlier years, just killed me! Watch his face at (2:04) when he seems like he understands Chong's, "Hey how ya doin' man?" and answers with a , "I'm doin'" followed by confusion!!! It also busts my gut when he tells Pedro, that they're going to see his people who, "...they don't fuck around!"....Poor Strawberry man, PTSD got this man by his cojones!
If you liked him in this you should check out the movie M*A*S*H (not the TV show). He has more screen time in it and it's hilarious if you like dark comedy.
@@Wingsnthings23 uhmm. Cassette were already commercial available by the early 70s. I just googled it. Yes thats not a cassete player obviously but still.
TOM SKERRITT...more than just TopGun. And a fine stage actor & HUMAN; I meet him by accident in Seattle where he lived some years ago. TOTALLY genuine, down to earth, SALT of the earth.
My Dad came in and my friends and I were watching this Movie. I was around 19 and he sat down and started watching it with us. I thought he was going to get hurt he was laughing so hard. He literally said it looks like they finally made a Movie about me and my friends. I think this was around 1980.
I will state this publicly, I thought these were the best buddy flick and honestly, I hope these movies last forever. Keep watching !! Keep sharing...que viva Los guys
One of THE best segments in a Cheech and Chong film. Up In Smoke had some REALLY memorable characters and Tom Skerrit NAILED the sketchy flashback Vietnam Vet. "They don't fuck around!!". When weed was illegal you ALWAYS had to deal with some sketchy guys sometimes in order to get it! When Strawberry goes to hand signal on the bike, Cheech is trying to figure out what he's doing and puts his hand out too to check for rain! They were VERY smart comedians!
I saw this movie when I was 10yrs... I didn't understand it... a year later, I got introduced to weed and then this movie, Pink Floyd and all them other crazy movies started making sense..... lmao 🤣😂
Yes, *fiber-weed* - the *hemp* provides the fibrous reinforcement, and those dire resins, *the binder.* Has moderate tensile strength, high yield strength, and a noxious odor when *combusted.*
