Do you know and understand Shabbat (Sabbath)? Does Shabbat really apply to the people of today? Is Shabbat just “that Jewish thing?” When the word ‘forever’ or ‘perpetual’ is attached to Shabbat, does it really mean to the end of time and beyond?
Rabbi Steve Berkson wants to start this multi-part teaching about this most critical observance by helping you find your motivation for keeping the Shabbat. Without the proper understanding of why, just knowing the mechanics really won’t take you very far.

Writing this from China, where observing the Shabbat is really hard sometimes. People here are indifferent about the idea of a creator and the theology Churches have here is 99% reformed, which is not all that bad in some sense. Anyway, thanks for the videos and teachings. :)

Thank YHWH for MTOI Ministry. Greatly blessed by this teaching. Since 2018, I wanted to obey the Commandments of YHWH to remember the SHABBAT. But there is no assembly in Singapore that keep Shabbat except one synagogue that believe in Judaism. Therefore I join the MTOI SHABBAT LIVE on line every week. That is the only way I can remember the Shabbat with other believers. Blessings...

Lovely teaching. When the Lord says "Children of Israel," He is referring to those that are innocent as children, a people that purify themselves continually, until they receive a clean and pure heart, and mind like those of a child. All Israel does not seek after that.

I love Shabbat and long for it, beginning on the first day. I also have animals - goats, ducks, cats and a dog. The goats and ducks are pets but I have them for the eggs they yield which I eat, and milk from the goats when they kid. I always feed and water and clean up after them first thing on Shabbat morning because I could have no peace or rest if I didn’t. During the day they mostly leave me in peace while I study, sing, praise and worship Him (I live in a rural place with no fellowship near me, so am very grateful for MTOI). I know Yahweh commands us to be caring and considerate to our animals, so I assume it is ok with Him.

I'm torn. I'm a farmer and we don't do duck because they considered not food so I just assume the eggs are also unclean

@@Levo42691 Where do you get that from? - not the Torah. Ducks and their eggs are clean, although I personally don’t eat duck because I don’t eat meat, fowl or fish, only eggs and cheese.

Hello pastor i got a question : What about people who say that the Shabat begins on saturday morning and not friday night. Shalom
@mtoi
@mtoi 6 лет назад
We humbly disagree with them based on Scriptural evidence. Please refer to our video "Making the Calendar Decision" regarding the reasoning behind MTOI's calendar choice.

@@mtoi, I watched the Making the Calendar video but there wasn't anything on there that explained the debate on sunrise to sunrise vs. sunset to sunset. I believe in the latter but when trying to test that it seems scripture proves sunrise to sunrise so I am looking for answers. Thank you for any help you can provide.

@@mtoi, thank you. I listened to it but again there was nothing in the teaching about when a day begins or ends. The Nehemiah section can easily be debated because the merchants could have been sent away so they couldn't sell to the people the next day as buying and selling did not happen at night. In creation then there was morning. Indicating that the creating was taking place from the beginning of the day till the evening and creating stopped for the night until morning. To read it the other way around would mean that he was creating during the night time and not creating during the daylight hours. We are patterning our 24 hour day after his 24 hour period during creation. In those times they would have had to work during the beginning of the day in the daylight. and then evening would come and it would be night until morning. The next day begins in the morning. Also, rom our 6 hour study into this yesterday I had the question as to why Yom Kippur was the only sabbath Yah said had to be kept from sundown to sundown. If sabbath was already kept this way why did He address it only with Yom Kippur?

So it's OK to record sports especially Friday night HS football etc, (so much of pagan worship HS football is on TV) to watch later with the son who is trying to accept Sabbath understanding not to play what he desires to do how does that be right? When I played HS football before knowing Torah ... BUT if we learned Torah and my Father did that to me I would be confused with it's NOT ok for me to play but OK for us to watch people breaking Torah as long we watch it not on the Sabbath? I loved football, played HS full contact, College flag football and if I knew Torah then I wouldn't have played . Why watch HS and College football if one's son isn't playing, as you stated they are worshipped? Since the kneeling during games and being a Veteran i quit watching if I quit watching because of that which includes not watching it recorded, how is it OK to watch Friday and Saturday games that break Torah if I watched them during Sabbath but be alright on a different day is like watching Christian Christmas and Easter because they are recorded movies as long we watch them any other day except Sabbath, or on actual Christmas or Easter days. Understand maybe the lead up to the joke, ... You have stated if a ministry does fear mongering and other clear false teachings and no matter if the rest of their teachings are spot on it's still a spoiled ministry and stay clear of them. They teach fear, your analogy teaches compromise, how is different? I plan to continue to watch your teachings, with understanding this was an error, but scripture says YHWH can use everything for His plan and His Believers, are we not to test the teachings and if crazy asteroid, etc to ignore but not excommunicate the ministry for you also said no Ministry is perfect. We are to reason where theological differences happen both on salvation and non salvation issues. We aren't to hold blind non awake Sunday Christians to the fire so why do it to Ministries that have mostly correct teachings but teach something that is not?

Isn't cessation a better word for the translation of Shabbaton than to rest? Rest to English means to sit in lazy boy, or sleep, etc. To cease from secular work, cease from cooking, cease from kindling fire, to cease from gathering sticks for fire, etc. To rest from cooking, rest from driving, rest from buying and selling, etc. doesn't even make sense in that context.
