Great discussion by these brothers. Thank you for hosting and putting this out there. There is much to be learned in both what they affirm and their charitable disposition.

Thank you for the great discussion 👏👏👏 Would love to hear more about, also about the practical consequences of each position. How does or does not this distinguishing impact my spiritual daily life 🤔

One of the best discussions on the topic I’ve seen. I still don’t know where I fall. Haha. But I have a better understanding. Thank you.

Every covanant is about God giving us a relationship with Himself as long we don't sin and fall away. He gives us everything, over and over, and all we have to do is believe, show faith, and trust Him. He gives us grace to believe and even increases our faith. I don't see belief as a work
@pewburrito

nope, Christ keeps the New covenant forever on behalf of His people; so its impossible for us to fall away or "be kicked out". He cannot deny Himself, nor can He not fulfill the covenant of redemption He made a blood oath to the other members of the trinity for

Honestly I see all the covanants as full of grace. I don't see how during Adam's time it's about works. Adam was told to not do something. God gave him everything, as long as he didn't eat of the tree of knowledge. It was God's grace to give Adam everything in the garden, including a close relationship with Himself! So. For Adam, how is it a covenant of works when Adam didn't have to do anything at all?? When I don't do any, I don't call it works! Lol. I did enjoy this video. Learning still. Thank you

From 49:19 to 51:54 Jordan notices the cat in the background cleaning it self and he can't stop cracking up in his head about it. So funny!

@@thelondonlyceum Oh ok haha. I was laughing at the cat when I noticed it and wondered if any of you guys noticed it as well and I noticed you kind of laughing and I assumed it was because of the cat. I haven't watched the whole video yet. I skipped forward to listen to Sam Renihan. But I'm going to watch it right now from the beginning. Thank you for your podcast and helping to put this round table discussion together. I just subscribed to your channel. God bless brother.

How can an Old Testament saint be sealed with the Spirit but not indwelt? Got any verses to back that up?
@triciachampine5807
@triciachampine5807 8 месяцев назад
OT believers were in fact indwelt with the spirit at times for certain purposes, just Not all the time. The Bible doesn't refer to the OT believers as being sealed with the spirit, probably because they were not permantly indwelt by the same spirit. Just sayin

34:40 so, Peter saw these promises extended to Gentiles in Acts 2, but somehow forgot that by Acts 10?
@TheFlyingDutchman85
@TheFlyingDutchman85 6 месяцев назад
It could refer to Gentiles, in which case Peter was led along by the Holy Spirit to preach a mystery he did not yet fully understand. But Peter also could have been referring to Jews who were far off-that is, straying from God-who would be called back to God, as his audience was.
@ArchDLuxe
@ArchDLuxe 6 месяцев назад
@TheFlyingDutchman85 no doubt. The Holy Spirit led Caiaphas to prophesy unknowingly (John 11:51), but interpreting a speaker's words contrary to their own possible understanding of those words is not generally a sound hermeneutic. To say "of course" Peter was referring to Gentiles is a ridiculous thing to say.
@pewburrito

@@TheFlyingDutchman85 "those far off" (Acts 2:38) is a common useage for Gentiles when speaking to Jews
@TheFlyingDutchman85
@TheFlyingDutchman85 5 месяцев назад
@@pewburrito Yes, but continuing to draw from the end of Joel 2 (and the beginning of chapter 3) as Peter does in Acts 2, we see that the context is God drawing the scattered Jews from every nation (3:2)-all those who shall call on the name of the Lord (2:32a), or rather, who are called by the Lord (2:32b). These would be "far off" Jews.

@@greglogan7706 let me clarify, are you asking if the phrase "God the Son" appears in the Bible? Can you find the word "Trinity" in the Bible? The Scriptures clearly portray Christ as both the only begotten Son of God, as well as God Himself, just as it teaches the concept of the Trinity.
@greglogan7706

@@Chief_Of_Sinners Yes - please provide the precise text that states Jesus is entitled "God the Son" Thanks While you are at - sure, please provide the precise text which uses the term "trinity". I will wait - but I won't hold my breathe... Serious issue - if the Word of God is sufficient for doctrine - why do evangelicals need to add their own terminology?? Maybe because they are adding to the Word of God?
