We recommend the Windex type product so that the dash cover will adhere to the original. Usually our covers are installed because the dash has already cracked and needs a restoration.

You might call our Customer Service Team at 800-633-7090 for more assistance - but you do need the original panels to be attached for our covers to adhere to. The fact that they are cracked is not an issue. Where some are extreme, the customer will tape them with a good tape like duct tape or gorilla tape before installing our covers.

That's exactly what our dash covers are for. You can tape your existing dash with a duct tape, gorilla tape, etc. and then install one of our dash covers per instructions and your dash will look like the original dash again. If you have really loose pieces, often customers will remove those before installing our overlay dash cover.

Yes, some of our customers tape the dash with something like gorilla tape or duct tape then install the dash cover over that per our instructions.

If that comes up after you installed a Coverlay® brand dash cover, then you can remove the cover by heating it as with a hair dryer and then the silicone will release and the cover can be removed. If the cover cannot be cleaned and reinstalled properly, the purchaser can contact us for a replacement under our warranty policy.

@@coverlaymfg if it can be heated with a hairdryer and removed ...what keeps it from popping off from everyday heat buildup in the vehicle?

It is the difference of the direct heat via blow dryer or heat gun, and lifting the cover while that direct heat is being applied. The cover is made to stay attached during normal circumstances which would include our hot weather days.

We have 15 different colors for you to choose from. They are not necessarily an exact match of the OEM color, but very close in most cases.
