Lovely spot up there - I don't get over there as often as I should do thanks for putting this great footage out which will scratch the itch till I get back over there. Lovely music too btw.
Merry Christmas to you John, the the best for the new year. Another beautiful day for such a lovely video, very impressed with the way you make it look so good. 👍🏻👌
Des Boast . Thank you very much Des. Hope you’ve had a lovely Christmas and I wish you the happiest New Year. As beautiful as the video is, there’s nothing quite like being there, it really is a most tranquil and gorgeous place.
Beautiful flight John as always. You have given us some wonderful views on this flight, and it does look very scenic. I loved the dam fly round and working your way up the river rapids/stream leading to the dam. I can imagine how quiet it must be there with just man and his flying machine. Wonderful flight John with such beautiful music too I couldn't ask for more. Thank you.
Thank you Kim, I had a lovely day out there with my sons dog. When I flew the Phantom down to the dam it stopped quite suddenly and I got an obstacle warning even though I was about 250ft up, I descended a little and the warning disappeared and I could move forward, then it happened again four more times and I descended a little each time, It was like I'd hit an invisible wall, as I got around in front of the dam the problem went away. . Have you ever come across anything like that? Just below Cauldron snout the river Tees runs very close ( a few hundred yards) to an army danger zone at Warcop but I definitely stayed out of that.
@@assessorjohn I tend to use the Drone Assist app just incase they have put up a temporary no fly zone. It might be a geofence around the camp. Kinda looks like an upside down cone, the lower your drone the further you can go forward until it reaches the bottom of the cone. 😀👍👍👍👍
Kim - Yes I use the Drone Assist app, it clearly shows the danger area, I would have thought that if geofencing was in use they’d have to keep the fence inside their own boundaries.
Thank you Andy, it’s beautiful and so peaceful, hope the weather improves a bit for you if you go, Cauldron Snout should be impressive after all the rain.
I'm not familiar with this area so I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but is this route circular - carpark, across the dam, other side and back to carpark? Thank you...anyone. Great video, by the way - makes people want to go there : )
Type this into Google Earth. 54°40'22.0"N 2°17'43.0"W You can see there are footpaths running roughly NW to SE on the northern side, I don't think there's anything on the Southern side, the walks I've done there have always been from the car park 'there and back'. You can cross the dam and if the water level is low enough you might be able to walk around the reservoir edge but as far as I know there is no path. I think there is a circular path but it's entirely on the Northern side on really visible on Google Earth.
