I am a retired, older woman living in a small town in PA, United States. I’ve never owned any cows at all but my late husband did. He raised some beef cows to put himself through college. My second son always was “into” cows! Practically his only word as a growing baby!! When he lived on his own place he was able to raise some beef cows! His absolute favorite thing that he was finally able to do! He has been doing this for many years! He helps friends with their cows too! How he knows how to do things with and for beef cows amazes me!! He even butchers them and cuts them up and freezes the meat! Selling halves and quarters and whole cows!! Raising babies by feeding them bottles and sharing these play times with his Mom and his nieces and nephews and his son. He still does these things today in his 40’s and he loves it! This is my only reference to cows until I happened upon your videos! So here I sit often, daily and watch one after another Hoof GP! I find myself smiling and laughing and learning so very much, enjoying absolutely every minute of your videos! You can just feel your love of the job, the love of the cows and love of your family and friends! Your intelligence about whatever you’re doing or wherever you’re going is incredible! You absolutely just make my day!! It may sound strange but a 72 year old Grandmother, a widow, a Mother of 3 truly loves your videos!! You make me laugh, you’re very intelligent and funny, you’re very cute and sometimes your hair is just plain wild and free!! I just wanted to let you know that I think your videos are amazing! We as an audience learn a lot every time we watch your videos. Please, just know that I think you do a great job and you make my day much more enjoyable by sharing your videos! Please…keep up the amazing work you do day in and day out!! Thank you sooo very, very much. ♥️😃

I’m a former banker. While I’ve always liked and appreciated farms, I’ve never been around one, other than a quick visit. So how is it that an urban middle aged woman like myself can sit enthralled, watching this video from start to finish? I think there is something to be said for watching someone who is passionate about what they do. You draw us in to a world many of us would have never known. It’s not always about the trimming, either. It’s about the entire philosophy. Thanks Graeme.

Even though I'm a lactose intolerant vegetarian, this video was absolutely fascinating. Before retirement, i worked on technologies for slurry management/methane capture for energy production to reduce a dairy's utility bill. Fascinating technology.
@TomLuTon
@TomLuTon 9 месяцев назад
Does a dairy herd create enough dung that if the methane is captured it produces enough fuel to heat the entire place or provide all the electricity?
@RedHeart64
@RedHeart64 9 месяцев назад
I've read about that, and it is fascinating - especially as the remainder has been converted into even better fertilizer. I remember reading about the way it was done in (as I remember) India, where it didn't take fancy equipment and could be built and maintained by local villages, providing electricity and better agriculture. The projects I remember weren't big, but they provided some electricity in places that didn't really have any.

This episode should be a bonus learning video for kids all over in all kinds of schools so they can see the importance of caring for an animal that gives you something in return such as the milk those kids use in their cereal or the cake they eat at their birthday parties that was made with a cup of milk in the ingredients & how important it is to keep our environment clean & care for the earth & the animals in it. I think seeing the process of it all & the importance of being kind to animals would open their eyes a bit more & make them have some respect for all these wonderful things & resources we have here on this planet. I know alot of kids realize that milk comes from cows, but I'm pretty sure most have never seen what all goes into making a "happy cow" & how that affects their milk production & also how important it is for their feet to be cared for as well. I am in my 40s & have lived near farms & grew up in the country(rural area), & I had no clue about the importance of keeping their feet trimmed or keeping them comfortable so they produce better milk! Had no clue!! So I'm certain alot of other people/kids don't know about any of that as well. Thank you so so so much Graham, (sorry if I misspelled) for sharing your knowledge & knowhow on all things cow/bull related. I personally find it fascinating & you truly have a fantastic job in one of the most beautiful places in the world! You have an adorable family too!!!Take care!!!!

Wow I remember seeing the previous videos and thinking that was going to be a cow that would never fully recover. Great job.

That was amazing. Thank you for taking the time to show us around easy fix. I learn so much with your videos. I grew up in a huge city and had never been around a cow until I was I my late 30s. I was actually terrified of them. I've since been around some and never really knew how bad concrete was for them. Because of your videos I can now say I know more than I ever thought I would besides what I like my steaks grilled like. 😂 I have a new found appreciation for what farmers can & do for their heard. Keep up the great work!

That is amazing! I love to see the cows being out in the fields and really well taken care of when they are indoors. Cows and all farm animals give us so much: wool, milk and it's products, and at the end of their lives, whanever that may be, fleeces, hides, and meat for food. They deserve the very best treatment and the very best living circumstances and I am so pleased to find that there are farmers who care enough to go to these extends and that there is at least one Hoof GP who informs us about these wonderful things. Thank you, Graeme and Mrs GP. I'm so pleased to have found your channel! I'm not a farmer but as a very young girl - from age 2 t0 8 - we used to go camping on a small Dutch farm with dairy cows and I loved helping the farmer getting the cows in for milking twice a day. I will never forget the interactions with those cows and the board on the wall in the milking parlour. It had mugs hanging on it and my greatest joy and best breakfast was a mug of freshly milked, warm milk, especially when it came from my favourite cow, Betsy! Considering that I don't like milk and never have, that is saying something! Keep up the good work, Hoof GP!

Glad to see that Cowbelle 477, is well on her way to a complete recovery. The EasyFix part of this video was also really fun to watch. Big shout out to the lovely folks at Burns Farm. I love that the comfort and happiness of their livestock is at the forefront of their sound business model.

This was a great video! Dairy farming has had many good advances since my youth visiting my grandfather's farm, and 447 is back to strutting her stuff! The factory tour was very interesting: everything possible is considered in order to make a good product.

You mean 447! :P I feel a connection to that cow as I've been dealing w/ a foot issue of my own for quite some time that is looking really good. The smile on your face as she walked out of the crush said it all. That smile was from ear to ear.

The technology for emissions is utterly fascinating! I hope this gets a lot of publicity and more American dairy farmers learn about the best care for cows and their and it environments! ❤

Getting a tour at Easy Fix must have been mind blowing for you. I hope you all got to enjoy your drinks and meal with them.

This was amazing. I had no idea the amount of research and development that has gone on in the industry. When I used to visit my Grampy's dairy farm as a child (many, many years ago) it looked nothing like this and no one cared about the slurry one way or the other. Now it has all changed and if my Grampy could see what it has come to he would be flabbergasted. Thanks for this video! I truly enjoyed it and I am very happy for cow 477 and her great gains.

I know a lot of farmers up in the UK (Northern Ireland) who adore their cattle. Everything they have goes into those cows and it shows - we have some of the best beef and dairy in the world. Happy, healthy cows give high yields and that means happy, healthy people. Happy to pay that little bit extra for the local produce and support the local farmers and their animals.

How interesting!! I'm glad you made this video! What they are doing and what you do are so important. As the cows are happier and healthier, they will, in turn, produce more. Coming from someone who loves milk, cheese, and steak, it makes me happier! 😊 So thank you for what you do! Hugs to you, Mrs. HGP, Craigie, and Kevin 💜

That tour of easy fix was awesome. Going into a manufacturing and development setting like that is incredibly amazing. Being able to see how they create their products and EVERYTHING that goes into the entire process of making something is incredibly interesting. The amount of research and testing Easy Fix does on every aspect of product development shows how much they truly care for the animals comfort and well-being. THAT is an amazing company. Thanks for sharing your tour with us. HELLO MRS. HGP. ❤ You two are such a beautiful couple 😘
