It seems like the media is just wanting Purdy to fail so they can say "oh well, that's why he was the last pick in the draft" but he keeps playing really well and proving doubters wrong.
It's not just that Purdy can scramble and still get the ball to his guys. It's also that he puts the ball in a good place, in stride, towards daylight, or away from a punishing hit. In other words, he scrambles under control, never losing his poise. Very few QBs can do that, even the mobile ones don't maintain accuracy and feel.
QBs have to realize that some passes are setting the receivers up for failure. But it's also play design. Pittsburgh had so many bad plays from the coordinator. It makes QBs look worse or better than they are depending on who the offensive coordinator is.
It wasn't even a duel. I thought this was going to be a heavyweight defensive battle. CMC either kills you with production or draws the whole defense toward him so that everyone else is open. Please give Purdy credit for being a highly skilled QB.
0:50 "brock purdy makes way too many good throws to be a systems guy." as a packer fan, the jury is still out on jordan love but the jury has already rendered a verdict on purdy. this dude legit.
@OneIssueVoter In theory they can but I’d be amazed if they actually did. If they moved on from him after this season then they’d eat a dead cap next season of $61M +/-. But at the same time if they keep him he’s still a hit of $59M +/-. So seeing them take that hit to move on, barring an absolute tank where they can somehow get a top level draft QB, I don’t see it happening. If they make the playoffs my money would be on McCarthy or somebody else taking the blame and Dak being extended if for nothing else than not having the cap murdered. Now if let’s say that money was simply Jerry striking a check and there was no cap aspect of it I could see Jerry writing the check and moving on. But I have a hard time seeing Jerry decimating his salary cap and accepting that at least for next year they’ll stink to hopefully land a franchise prospect as a free agent or in the draft. Seems more likely he gets another deal and the blame continues to be thrown at everybody but Dak. Who knows but that makes more sense to me.
as a guy from England, with no dog in the fight, I hope the 49ers win the Super Bowl. It would be the best story. All those great players and their coach finally get their ring.
@@JamarcusBlue49ers would smack them. they have nothing for our defense. The only reason they won last season because we had no available QB in the NFC championship against the Eagles
I had the 9ers but not by 32! This was a super elite performance by the 9ers. This was not just any opponent. It was the Cowboys. Credit the SF coaching staff with a great execution of the game plan. They came prepared!🎉
Brock Purdy is the guy who is cooking the opponents very slowly. When they realize that, they are already well done cooked. He jabs the opponents, step by step like Ali used to do in boxing.
I remember when Jimmy G would drop back and throw the ball, and my stomach would drop every time like that feeling of when a roller coaster first drops. Now when I watch Brock drop back, I turn into that eager fat person at Thanksgiving smelling the turkey in the oven!!😂😂😂
Purdy’s TD on the opening drive was a pretty play. Pocket was collapsing so he steps up and rolls the direction he sees a play developing downfield and then drops the 25 yard dime on the run in the back corner of the end zone for Kittle. Impressive play for a rookie
@@dh617 📠 ... Dude is getting paid pennies on the dollar, and they've already committed to him as the FRANCHISE QB, plus he would kill the FA market, plus if he sits out the rest of the season - worst case scenario - and gets fined he'd recoup with a big contract... js if he gets hurt 49ers will not pay him a dime more than he has negotiated for. Edit: right now he has a ton of negotiating power, although Darnold is waiting on the bench.
"I said today Brock Purdy or Dak Prescott, it's not even close I'd take Brock Purdy. 4 days ago "Lets talk about quarterback, you're gonna take Dak, been in a lot of big games over Brock Purdy. We all like Brock Purdy, he doesn't even have a season worth of starts, I'm gonna take Dak Prescott.
Colin is hilarious. All week in his breakdown of the cowboy Niner game, he took Dak over Purdy. Now he's on Purdy... he's right Purdy is better... but not just because tonight.
With Purdy at QB this year, Aiyuk has had a 150+ yard game, Deebo had a 150+ yard game, Kittle had a 3 TD game. Purdy isn’t being propped up by one superstar or so. I honestly think that as long as he has an O-line, he will find an open man. Jimmy G had all these weapons too. He never came close to this
@@emoneyizhereson will you be happy if "Dak" has the best recievers, running backs, and defense in the nfl? why are the cowboys building a team around that guy?
Not a SF fan and I know Purdy doesn't get all the "hype" as a Mahomo since he's not sponsored by the nfl owners (advertisers) as much. But truth is SF is hands down the best TEAM in the league. And watching how they run an offense in particular with such balance, timing, different formations etc is so much better than that KC 2 man sandlot shitshow that wins ugly every wk , and seems to ALWAYS rely on zebra assistance.
Became an nfl and 9ers fan 5 years back loved the color scheme since a kid so made them my team, Hope we can go all the way this year and bring it home for the faithful
He never trailed. He never had to play from behind. It’s the system and the pieces around him (which if that were the case Trey Lance would still be a 49er). _What else could he say?_ 🤔 We haven’t seen him make “the big throw”. The Cowboys were frauds.. I swear the national media will just talk about Dallas struggling instead of giving props to Purdy and the Niners for imposing their will
@@GC0077 I’d think playing Dallas on a Sunday night game (no other NFL games at the same time), pre-playoff matchup, expectations super high…isn’t that pressure? Dude kept scoring drives going…no chance to fall behind
@@adammeyer3129 That's the funny part. They have had a tremendous amount of talent there, but their culture there seems to foster softness and finesse. You're all world against inferior teams, but a physical team lands a punch and you curl up in a ball.
Purdy is reminding me of a young Brees every time I see him play now. He's slightly undersized with less of a cannon of an arm, but he's extremely accurate with a hell of a pocket presence, he's smart, he understands the defense and knows his limitations and works with it. I'm telling you he's a different version of Brees, because when he was in San Diego he was a bit more mobile than you remembered
Hmm interesting. I feel tua is like a young drew Brees. Tho I see Purdy and tua very similar. Both fast processing, can make quick reads, can throw rolling out, very accurate. Good pocket presence. Don’t have strong arms but enough arm to make the throws needed. Not big qbs but know how to play despite not being big qbs. Tua got a really quick release too
@@miamiman24 One clear difference between Tua and Purdy is that Purdy is unshakeable under pass rush, under pressure, and never gets rattled and finds ways to make plays. Giants blitzed him 84.9% of snaps and his QBR 111%, 2 TD, 310 yds. Tua can be rattled and that's what happened in the 2022 season, the 9ers-Dolphins game. It doesn't mean Purdy is better than Tua!
As a Seahawks fan I have nothing but respect for the Niners. They are the biggest juggernaut I've seen in recent history. They grind you down, they're physical and they're well coached. If they didn't get injured last year they could've won it all. Props to Niners Nation. Great organization, looking forward to testing our Hawks against you.
I hear you on the Mahomes front, but this is a complete team. We'll see how the season goes, but Purdy is as calm as Montana or Brady early in their career with a surfeit of talent around him. Just feel like they will finally break through this year.@caseypeterson9489
Peaking entirely too soon..Philly has yet to play a complete game, and are undefeated..Playoff football is a lot different..I don't trust Purdy til he gives me a reason to when it counts
@swfam4195: I think you’re underestimating the Eagles, Hurts is improving as the season goes along & we’ve seen him play incredible before. The Eagles O Line & D Line are crazy good, their offense weapons will spread out any defense. That’s a great match up
From this point forward, Nick Wright better stop dissing Purdy and give him the credit he deserves for skilfully leading this offense and for consistently winning games, week-in and week-out. I'm gonna go on-record right here and now in projecting that I'm confident that he'll lead the Niners to their sixth Super Bowl victory in eight tries (one better than "America's Team" Cowboys' record as a franchise) over the Mahomes-led Chiefs*, or whichever other franchise that the AFC coughs-up as sacrifice to this unstoppable juggernaut of a team (the most-complete on all sides of the ball in the entire League, and one of the most-complete in the history of this League)
@@TransparentOperatingMode: I don't think that the Eagles are better than, or even equal to, the '49ers this season. Heck, the only reason Philly made it past the NFC Championship Game last year was due to a freak injury to Purdy after being bumrushed during the first possession of the game. Had he played the entire game, I'm confident that he would've led the Niners to another close, hard-fought victory -- like the one over the Cowboys the week prior in their Divisional Game match-up
@@TransparentOperatingMode: Our defense did peter-out late in the season last year, I'll give you that, but I believe that that was due to injuries to key starters who had to sit-out that game as well as the closer-than-it-should've-been Divisional round game against the 'Boys the week before; and yes, the overrated Chiefs did get lucky with that 4th qtr. comeback, but that's why you play 60 mins., not 45. Had that game ended @ the end of the 3rd qtr. rather than the 4th, then your Eagles would've been Super Bowl champions, but your team gave Mahomes an opportunity late in the game, and he exploited it to his fullest advantage and didn't waste it. The Niners (as has been the case for several seasons now) play in arguably the most-competitive division in at least the NFC -- if not the entire League. Meanwhile, the Eagles have benefited from being the best franchise in perennially one of the worst divisions in the League. That's not to say that they aren't good, or even really good, but any team who has the Cowboys, Commanders, and Giants to beat-up on for six easy wins from each ought to be successful. That means that you only have to win three of the remaining eleven regular season games in order to secure a spot in the playoffs (perhaps even skip the Wildcard round and go straight to the Divisionals). Of those eleven remaining games, I seriously doubt that Philly will have as certain a victory against SF's squad as you predict. I do agree with you that it shouldn't be a blowout like this game was, but I also don't think that it'll be as low-scoring as you forecast. I think both teams' offenses will do well enough against each other's defenses to get into the 20-point range with the '49ers squeaking by with a 28-24 or 24-21 victory. As confident as I am with respect to the Niners likelihood of raising the Lombardi trophy next Jan./Feb., I won't guarantee that they'll run-the-table and go undefeated the whole way thru the regular season (such a feat would be amazing to witness but has the potential to invoke the jinx that befell the 16-0 Patriots who ended up losing the Super Bowl) At least one team will likely put some L's in Purdy's pocket along the way. The Eagles might be one of them, I'm willing to concede, but I think division rivals, the Seahawks, have a better chance at humbling this year's SF team than do the Eagles, but we shall see...
@@TransparentOperatingMode : It's OK to be a fan of more than one franchise. The Minnesota Vikings are my #2, for a good reason -- both sides of my family are from the Upper Midwest (Minneapolis for my mom's, and North Dakota for my dad's), and all my extended family root for them; so, I feel obligated to follow-suit. The only time that I don't root for them is when they play the Niners. I think you're friends would be more confused if you had the Giants as your #2, given the decades-long bitter rivalry between those two legacy franchises that go back to long before the Super Bowl era As for forecasting potential losses for SF over the course of the remainder of the regular season (I, of course, am not rooting for them to lose any games, but I don't think that they'll run-the-table), I see them as sweeping both the Rams and Cardinals for their rematch games later this season, but both teams have the level of talent to keep the score low and close but not enough to beat the '49ers. However, with the Seahawks resurgent again, I could see them claiming one of the two interdivisional games we have yet to play. As for intradivisional opponents, I do indeed see the Eagles as being the team having the best chance of upsetting them
Mason showed up tonight. He's a big dude who can hit hole FAST and can make a good cut. He's also shown he can catch out of the backfield. If CMC wasn't who he is, then I think Mason would be having a coming out party. Dude will PUNISH defenses.
I been calling him a mini beast mode since the first time I saw his first carry. The dude always falls forward. Never backwards. N lays the rock on whoever challenges him.
@redriderbbgun8018 Take it easy . Purdy is playing well but he is surrounded by talent. He clearly isn't top 3 . You ain't taking him over Allen Mahomes or herbert
@@redriderbbgun8018 You don't seem to get it. Allen makes turnovers because he has no help. If he had all the weapons that the 49ers have running wide open all the time his turnovers would go down. You really think Purdy would win with Buffalo 's lack of weapons ? You are delusional SMH
Wowza Im a Giants fan and I was truly impressed and stunned that the 49ers just absolutely demolished the Cowboys. This could be your year guys if you manage to stay healthy. In case the Giants don't make the playoffs I might consider rooting for you guys to win the NFC Championship. I just want two teams not named Kansas City and Philadelphia in the Super Bowl this year, contrary to the wishes of Roger Goodell and presumably Taylor Swift!!
Jump on. There's plenty of space. I was rooting for the giants and hope d.jones prove people wrong. But your guys' season is going downhill fast. Jump on board! Let's go!
As a Cowboys I've been done with Dak man, the more I watch him..the more I wonder why is he even starting..Not taking anything away from the 49ers..the game was over from the opening kick.
I'm a cowboys fan and every year I tell ppl about dak and they want to defend him, it's year 8 for God's sake, he has NO big win games in recent history, his rookie year was his best, they're going nowhere with this team
Purdy and his OL receivers and backs have worked plays & looked so fast and fluid team very cohesive. Also the defense very cunning to anticipate where the ball will be for the intercerption. Our corners & DBs can tackle & cover.Just a well balanced team & pose a threat to the rest of the league.
@@49erLA the only good team 49ers have Beat is the Cowboys and can you really count that ? They pee the bed every big game against 49ers. @@jaysoncarter3171 The 49ers smaked the Rams and everyone else they played including the Steelers that just beat the Ravens. The Eagles allowed all those points to the Commanders and escaped. The 49ers defense is on another level compared to the eagles. You can just watch both teams games and see. If they are allowing all these points to these lesser teams what do you think Purdy and Shannahan will do 😆?? Because the Eagles aren't scoring on us..
I always said if they had put romo back in the cowboys would of won the Superbowl because Romo could make every throw... but what do I know? The experts like Nick wright know without a shadow of a doubt that Dak is the best in the NFC!
What did people expect? Dallas who’s only wins came against Mac Jones, Daniel Jones, and Zach Wilson; Dallas who got sliced by Josh Dobbs, plays the best team in football. lol.
I’m a die hard DALLAS fan and I knew the truth, but I was in denial. Today was the day where I realized we are just average and our wins were against below average teams. It’s only week 4 but we just got WEMBY so let’s get ready for NBA
Been a fan of Colin since the sportsnation days, but he lacks certain conversational skills that would make an interaction like this a little better. Sometimes when I watch him go live with someone else like John on these Sunday nights, there's a sense that he's just waiting for his turn to sink back into a comfortable talking point. I don't feel like he's actually acknowledging or responding to anything John says, he's just letting John take his turn, and then sometime during John talking, a common talking point from his show will pop into his head and he'll weave it in. I'm just saying I wish he'd be a little more authentic in the engagement and not make it show talking points over and over.
How can you make authentic conversation if you're not familiar with the subject matter? Or you don't truly believe what you say in the conversation. He is not a fan of the 9ers or Purdy so he doesn't follow them closely so no insight or meaningful conversation from him. John is a 9ers fan so it's different so he has more insightful stuff to say.
Purdy is far from average. His field vision is next level. His touch is superior, like Joe Montana's. He throws a catchable ball. He moves well in the pocket. How many times does he have to deliver absolute dimes to get the respect he deserves?
Eagles might have a shot, they’re the only team I really feel is a great fit for this matchup. Hurts will hopefully be rolling by the time they meet up. Philly D Line is a problem, O Line is looking phenomenal, they have offensive weapons to keep the 9ers on their toes. They match up really well tbh
@@marckusduverger9776 The Eagles doesn’t serve a problem against the 49ers. Eagles are having problems in their games and have been not blowing out teams. Eagles games have been very close versus the 49ers games which have been blowouts and 49ers have been playing against some good teams. 49ers defense is the best in the NFC and the offense is the best in the NFC. Last year in the NFC championship Brock was injured with only a couple of plays in the first quarter. Niners are ready now to compete against the Eagles 👊🏾💥
People need to pay attention to a Brock’s throws. They a accurate and usually in the right place. You can’t program that it’s his ability to perform well and he like Joe Montana
Cowherd 'we all agree that Dak is a better QB' cowherd. A few days ago Cowherd was saying everyone knows Dak is the better qb when he compared teams. What a piece of work! WHERE COLIN WAS WRONG
No matter what these naysayers in this video OR in the comment section say...Brock Purdy CAN PLAY. He's a winner...PERIOD! And he's been a winner since he was first able to carry his own "jock strap"!!
Purdy is always throwing to wide open receivers.. that is what makes him look amazing.. Purdy is great at getting the right pass into the open space where the playmakers can go to work
Same thing the last few years with Dak Prescott. The Cowboys beat up on Tomato can teams in the first few weeks, then they are hailed as one of the best teams. Then they suffer an embarrassing loss to a legit team. They then go on to win enough games to get into the playoffs only to get handled by the first legit team they face.
All these ppl who go out of there way to adamantly discredit Purdy are the same ppl who blindly defend Dak. The proof is on the field, it’s just a matter of who’s willing to accept it.
Nick Wright will still find a way to belittle Brock Purdy!🤦♂️ Meanwhile his Chiefs are getting bailed out by the refs. Or they would've lost their last 2 games...
Purdy, Goff, and Geno are very similar. Very good QB's, good leaders of their teams, and they cost less than the Uber athletes that often process worse (Allan, Lamar, and so on)
@zaneplatt3533 Allen is 3 times better than all those QBs you mentioned. The Bills have no talent on offense it's all Allen . The other guys are surrounded by talent
@@christiansoldier77 He also turns the ball over a ton (both fumbles and INT's). By the way, I said that the uber athletes are worse processors. I didn't even say the other players were better overall than Allan. People need to focus a bit more on their comprehension... Unless you are dating him, I suggest you try to be a bit less defensive over him, it's a bit creepy. Ciao
As a Cowboy fan I’ve gotten to see Purdy execute to perfection the qb position. His accuracy is without question top 3 in the league. Shanahan has perfectly tailored his system to Purdy and it’s perfect. I don’t see anyone beating them. Not close.
Brock purdy is the next brady type of guy that beats defences with his mind and makes it look so god damn easy . These teams need to stop drafting the guy with the big arm or fast 40 yard dash and find the guy who can do what this guy does . If they stay healthy its a superbowl championship without a doubt .
