Cowes Seafront Sunset (DJI Phantom 3 Standard Cinematic Drone Footage)

Filmed during Cowes Week flying DJI DJI Phantom 3 Standard Drone. Sunset out over the Solent & Cowes seafront, Isle of Wight.

One of my favorite views the sunset on East Cowes seafront looking out across the Solent at Southampton and beyond.
This is my first proper attempt at having a video centered around drone footage, I did find that I was getting a lot of radio interference whilst flying and the range on the Phantom 3 Standard was drastically reduced from a more sparsely populated area, I'd say controller range, in line of sight, was reduced from approx 1km to 0.5km and video feed was dropping out from as little away as 0.2km (filmed most of this blind!).

Sony A7S with Sigma 600mm F8 Mirror Lens (this is a cheap bargain manual lens I picked up off of eBay, a challenging but thoroughly enjoyable lens to use)

Edited in Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015
Graded with Lumetri and some custom LUTS I made

Love this video thank you for sending it too me. Full of atmosphere. Just wish I was there but work and money dictates sometimes. Love What is Love slowed down as instrumental.

Hey mAn nice video i have a question when you fly the dji phantom 3 standard do you get the error strong interference and if so does it affect the flight

Occasionally yes I do and actually had it whilst filming this, In more built up areas I find that the range drastically reduces and there is a much higher level of interference. Out in the countryside, I can comfortably fly 1km away with no interference issues whereas in densely populated areas I found range can be reduced to as little as 100m even in the line of sight! It can be frustrating when you've lined up a shot only for the "return to home" to kick in 😞 I'll probably look into getting a range extender in the near future, thanks for watching 👍
